Hi! I love this channel and I was wondering if you could make a video of what to do on the first day of bringing golden retrievers home as I am getting a golden retriever next week (I have done a lot of research and spoken to vets etc) thank you!
well i got a golden 4 months ago... and we didnt actually do much that day. we made a little bed inside a basket and he slept peacefully. we also had to buy many chew toys because the biting was non-stop. plus he was peeing all over the place.
I have a 3 year old golden retriever at home and I think I can help you out! On the first day, try to be extremely close to the puppy as he/she has just entered a new environment and needs all the love they can get. Try to play ball with them and maybe even lie down on the floor beside them for more interaction :) Hope this helps!
Very useful……having had retrievers for over 30 years most of I was already aware of. However, although not a food I would avoid allowing your companion to have ‘Tug ropes’ unless you CLOSELY SUPERVISE. Although I played tug with my 15 month, old he managed to swallow some of the rope strands; next day he was really struggling for a few minutes to do a poo ….on checking his bum there were several inches of rope/poo that he was unable to pass! I was, after a short while able to grab it and pull it out (he really didn’t want me to help and became agitated!!). Hope this message helps someone🇬🇧
Always great content. My dog is three months old but no matter how much i train or whatever, he never stops bitting. And he bites really hard. What should i do? I tried everything
Such important information for all dog owners. Love that you make all this clear and emphasise the reasons why. 👍
Edit: Yes please make Part 2.
