    This piece is also heard in classic animated cartoons: Tom and Jerry in The Cat Concerto, Looney Tunes starring Bugs Bunny in Rhapsody Rabbit, and of course, Woody Woodpecker in Convict Concerto.

      Because it's a bad key for the orchestra

      @@sneddypie It's not a matter of "it's easy". It's purely for orchestral reasons. For the strings C minor has more open strings to use (CGD) which give a richer sound if you use them. C# and G# as a fifth on the Cello doesn't sound as loud as the two lower open strings.
      It also makes the second part waaaaaaaaay easier to play as F major is just easier to do orchestrally than F# major. More open strings, easier keys to read in transposing instruments, etc.

      @@Ybarchov21 Plus, the tunings have changed over the years so much that C vs C# argument is really pointless!
