Making English fighters fight at American time IN England is absolute lunacy.
so a few fighters fighting at an odd time compared to the millions they will lose in PPV numbers from the North American market, it makes perfect sense
They're a business and ppv sell for around $80 each in the US i think. They basically only make money on ppv in the US

Really jealous of the English right now. There aren't any American fighters that can compare to Tom Aspinall. We got Stipe Miocic. But Tom is so good on the microphone, and he's probably the best UFC fighter in history. I already think Tom is vastly more skilled than Khbabib, GSP, or Jon Jones. None of those guys had any ability to finish a fight, and if they did finish, it was always a drawn out war of attrition.

I’m Jamaican and I’m man enough to say Leon underestimated Belal because of the exchanges in their first fight and got dominated because of thinking he was the same guy and his excuse was embarrassing he lives in the UK and belal came to the UK and was more prepared for the time of the fight so how Leon lives in the UK and is complaining after the fight… Show Belal some respect💯
The fight was at 5am and Americans can stay on an American time zone. Belal only won because Leon didn’t turn up

I definitely thought he underestimated him, I thought that in the build up. The time difference might have been a factor, but he should of anticipated this and prepared for it, it'd not hard to sleep during g the day and train at night, get yourself in a routine

I disagree slightly. Volk escaping those Ortega submissions put him on a different level. Fighting through triangle from T city himself, coming through those moments of adversity. It would be nice to see tom go into the 2nd round let alone adversity lmao
Drove 7 hours there and was so worth it just for the experience of watching it live. Seeing daniel cormier and dana white as well as all the fighters live in the flesh was so sick

People are mad that Bisping and the gang were all hyped for Leon but why should they not, they are supporting their countrymen like any other would. The good things is they were all praise for Belal's performance and were not shy to point out how flat Leon looked. That's why I like this show. Credit given where credit was due. Leon has looked passive in his other fights too. That was not an off night.

One of the most humble heavyweight or mma fighters around. No bravado or hyberbole, just likes the art and physicality of fighting (in a sanctioned sport). When he knocked out Sergei, he moved up to another level. Sergei had been moving up the ladder by knocking out his previous opponents. One thing about a match with Jon Jones is no one has ever tested Jon's skinny legs. Someone with the same height and reach but with a heavier leg will definitely have an affect on Jones. Aspinall can definitely touch jones with combos.

Leon was awful. Don't buy the time argument, he's had weeks and weeks to acclimatise. Beaten in every department, Belal was faster, stronger, wanted it more.

Not denying how great Jon Jones is, but can't hold a title that long without defending it. Even if injury is the cause.
I agree that he was going nowhere and was going to get destroyed with a few more shots. But the ref saved him from an actual knockout blow. He was not actually knocked out.

'I hit him with around 8 shots'. 15 actually champ. 15 unanswered shots. Stoppage 100% justiifed.
I wasn't in a position to see the live fight and saw a few comments elsewhere whining about an 'early' stoppage (was a bit bummed that the win might not have been 100% legit). Just watched the finish in slo-mo before coming here and think Mark Goddard was 100% correct to call it. Curtis might have been awake, but was losing brain cells without any meaningful defense. Ref has a duty to protect him and made the right call.
I think Belal might get caught juicing because he was faster, fitter and more ripped than ever. He’s never looked that quick before and his endurance was unreal - he didn’t run out of gas at all - Belal is pushing 40 and suddenly he’s faster, fitter and better than ever before …… epo with a little growth hormone….,all difficult to detect on the day of the fight.
