Alexandra, Central Otago

- Alexandra has a bit of a reputation of being the hottest, driest and coldest town in NZ. It has four distinct seasons and is one of the reasons it is rather a unique place to visit at any time of the year.
It is spread out on the banks of the Clutha River, 188 km from Dunedin and approximately 30 km south of Cromwell.
As well as wanting to finish off cycling the Roxburgh Cycle Trail from the Alexandra end (see the previous video), we were keen to explore the greater area to learn what history surrounds this beautiful Central Otago town.
We certainly weren't disappointed as we found that it was dotted with dams, lakes and mining history.

Thanks. thinking of going there for a visit. beautiful.
Love watching your videos!! Keep up the good work :)
Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated
This isn't a part of central Otago that us north islanders think of as worth exploring so I'm glad you're proving us wrong at the right time. My friends think I know the area really well because I have lots to tell them about 🤣. Thanks for providing me with so many 'dine out' experiences to share and for inspiring us to explore our own back yard. It looks like being a busy summer!
Thanks so much Robin, there is so much more to see! For some reason my list is STILL really long!!!
Beautiful
