Synopsis.......
Set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965, Moonrise Kingdom tells the story of two 12-year-olds who fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away together into the wilderness. As various authorities try to hunt them down, a violent storm is brewing off-shore - and the peaceful island community is turned upside down in every which way.

Agreed, you could watch it over and over and find new details in it every time. It's full of astonishing emotion, it's beautiful, it resonates with something deep down in the core of our human being and touches us as we might not have thought possible.
What a cast! Look at the uniqueness of everyone and what they all bring to the table.
Everyone seems so nervous and awkward. I love it.

Kara Hayward is so poised and mature, and an amazing actress. I hope to see more from her. This of course, is another masterpiece by Anderson, probably my favourite film by him yet, just so beautiful!!
A decade and more later, Kara Hayward has indeed been in a number of roles, most recently "To the Stars" and "The Social Dilemma." Both she and Jared Gilman reunited for a brief cameo in "Paterson," playing two students on a bus. They were the true stars of "Moonrise Kingdom" - it was wonderful to see them acknowledged first by the presenter of this conference - and Hollywood's future can only be a bright one if it has them in it.
Those two kids are the best, man. I wish I had all that charm.
Wes Anderson you are my hero and a magnificent soul !!!
I would like to see him do more acting in his films or just in films in general. I think he is brilliant and could definitely be an actor not just a writer/director. Anyway... Moonrise Kingdom is absolutely amazing! I loved every second of it! :D

I'm kind of glad Ed Nortom played a scout master and not the hulk! Moonrise Kingdom is almost like the antithesis of this year's Summer blockbuster Avengers, and brilliantly outshines it IMO.
