Wes is so nervous while interviewed. It's adorable.
This guy is a great interviewer, it's so funny because I feel like the majority of them have already prepared answers for typical questions, then they're thrown off. Great interview man.
I don't know if anybody agrees, but I got a bit of a "pathetic" vibe out of Scout Master Ward. He's a man nearing middle age who is entirely invested in these Boy Scouts, despite having no children in the program. I thought this side of him was really drive home when he told the other kids he was a math teacher, and then cut them off from all follow up questions. Because of this, though, he's insanely dedicated to the kids and the image of scout master.
I loved how I could infer this much from his character, despite it never being directly addressed, and other people probably saw him in other ways.
There's nothing pathetic about wanting to change the lives of kids in a positive way :)
Aw so cute. Is it me or Wes Anderson talks a lot like the Wilson family?
I'd like to see (and love to see) Was Anderson version of Tin Tin! He would be the right director!
Wes Anderson did the movie Rushmore at my high school.
10:00
"That's a funny question"
Ed right there nailed exactly why Jake is so great. He asks the questions no one else would think to ask.
I fucking love Wes Anderson. He is the coolest man EVER.
At 1:19 when he said "som kind of uh strange mixture." He did the thing with his hands the "different" thing from fantastic mr fox
Really interesting and unique questions in this; it's refreshing to hear some well thought-out interviews!
Really good questions. Nice to see and they all obviously appreciated it too. Well done!
Edward Norton always looks a little sleepy and grumpy. At all times :D
Same. I love his work. That's an amazing movie as well.
This guy asks really good and pointed questions. Great job
REPPIN HOUSTON!!! LONG LIVE TEXAS! Seriously great interview with some great talent!
Thanks for the great video and insights into the mind & films of Wes Anderson.
Hey Jake,
I'll add you to my media list for my own upcoming feature film. It's set top hit the film fest circuit by Spring of 2009. ...whoops, looks like we're running a bit behind on the shoot/edit schedule. Well, I will let you know when it;s ready!
H.M.
I wanna got to Cannes!!!!
hey those kids were being interviewed on green screen!
gr8 questions
haha i know! I was just thinking he looks a bit like Mr. Fox :)
Wes loves that jacket.
Dude you're at Cannes! Congrats!
Jake undeniably has the best job in the world. His success is not through luck but instead being the best at what he does.
seriously. This guy asks really great questions.
Jason seems so awesome.
U r at the Canne Film Festival?!! envy u! btw great interview as usual haha
i know right! i love it :3
@jakethemovieguy Well done, Jake! I look forward to the new questions in each interview. =)
right back at you
My thoughts exactly
"i don't wanna talk to people." i feel you, jason.
I think he reminds me of President Muffley from Dr. Strangelove. Such a great character.
I love Wes Anderson movies.
It almost seemed like you stumped everyone with the great questions.
Well, it's been almost two years since they started filming, and one year since they finished.
Same! Which piece of work?
Lol I didn't expect the kid's voice XD
I want wes
actually, the suit of fantastic mr. fox was made of the same material and in the same shape as one of wes's suits :D
@apleseed91 Wes Anderson and the Wilson brothers are both from Texas. They met each other at the University of Texas in Austin.
That's what makes him adorable.
HOLY PUBERTY
this movie was fucking beautiful!
i hope wes anderson makes a war movie soon
wes really reminds me of peter sellers for some reason.
this was some yrs ago so if i did i don't remember. why he had something to do with the movie?
Why didn't you mentioned QT
wes anderson should work with jon hamm :)
I was an extra in this
I wonder, has anyone ever taken him up on his foldout couch offer?
oh my god. YES. A Wes spy film.
8:37 Red Dragon
Oh my God... that's hilarious
0:12 how the hell do you mention Stanley Kubrick? his cinematography is instantly recognizable.
i know i have a major crush on him
As much as I love his movies, I hate listening to Anderson talk about them. He's either the most inarticulate director, or is literally just lucky that all the pieces somehow work together so often.
FIRST SON!
for some reason i always thought he had an accent
the comedy is subtle its a dramatic commedy
dramady anyone. ( ;
you missed kubrick
haha the kids voice changed since the movie.
To be fair, he was being asked some nonstandard questions that could easily catch him off his guard.
Glad Ed norton is cool
Whodathunk that Texas would add to America a rich part of its pop culture?
Bring back Luke Wilson!
Two Texans walk into a bar...
this interviewer isn't very good at all, yes he asks unique questions but they have nothing to do with the movie and the actors and director seem confused. he asks random questions and they try to answer them and relate it to the movie somehow and it just seems awkward
its because its hard as fuck to define anything about his films. I have listened to the commentary on his movies and the interviews he gives about his films and they are all pretty awkward.
he complains for having to intellectualize the decisions he makes and the "whys" to his movies because he does it more or less subconsciously. for instance someone might ask him why he chose to use this song or selected that wardrobe and he struggles to give some interesting answer but he continually says when NOT asked in commentary "because i thought it was funny" or "because i liked the way it looked" etc.
there is a reason he likes the things but more often than not, he doesn't even know why he chose the things he does. but at least he's cool enough to attempt to answer unlike david lynch and some of the other obscure directors of the class that refuse to elaborate on their work.
plus his lisp is driving me crazy, it's hard to listen to
yep
