I NEVER KNEW TV had the honor of reasoning with, who many regard as the 'King of Dancehall", the legend Brigadier Jerry. In this short clip he provides the history of the legendary sound system Jah Love Muzik. He also tells a story how he freestyled for twelve hours straight in Tivoli Gardens and provides the secret to his craft.

one of the greatest ever Deejay from Jamaica and worked with the greatest ever sound...i was a member of the 12 Tribes in the UK in the 80s and you would have to be at a 12 Tribes dance to understand the vibe, the choice of colours, the invitation cards, the Orthodox selection, everything had order and Briggy was the voice - the greatest i ever heard him perform was a cassette of Jahlovemuzik in Annotto Bay JA in the lates 70s early 80s....Briggy deejayed on tracks like Heavenless, Shank I Shek, Drifter etc and was a classic....even today i am hunting for that cassette....lol ...great interview great post!
Amazing. this man gives me goose bumps from the godly and heavenly message every time." U Roy told me I was the best DJ he ever seen " says it all
I remember those days as a youth with Jah Love Muzik and the General Brigadier Jerry as the DJ alongside Albert "Ilawi" Malawi as the selector. They were inspiring times and i thought it would never end.
Most certainly! Brigy is the true king of the dancehall. Briggy been ruling for generations now. Long live the king
After all these year's still the only D.J I can listen from now till a morning, and I've been listening since 1977. from Jah love, Black Star to his migration over sea's on African Love to Downbeat the ruler. He's truly the King of dancehall and the teacher.
Appreciate the support...
brigie nuff raspect mi lion...i remember in 1977 a princess i was dating got converted to de rasta faith..mi lion its a long story..its like a history with me and this princess who is now a empress...i cvould write a book...nuff rasspeck ..jah love fi iva... peace
The superlatives I've read here.....what more can I add? The man is a *living legend.* I have too many sound tapes featuring the great man, the *Black Star* and *Downbeat* appearances are the stand out for me. Respect to the Brigadier.
Learned a lot from this reasoning, including how good God is, lol. Much respek to the 'King of Dancehall'.
Great interview as usual +I Never Knew TV you are bringing legends back into the light. The one's people may have forgot or under appreciated. These are the architects. When people look at dancehall now they see slackness and all dem tings. But dancehall was conscious lyrics at the onset from Daddy U Roy, Big Youth, to Brigadier Jerry and so on. This is tradition. It's history. Big up.
Dwayne D Truly appreciate the support..
Give thanks!!!!
greatest dj of all time ..if you was going to dance in 80s you had to go to jah love dance ...so spiritual ..
greatest dj of all time

Real Talk
So much king 👑 in Dancehall 😩😩😩
LIVING LEGEND right there....
Legendary.. Give thank for watching
The most underrated pioneer
Briggy is the wickedest DJ from creation. When he came to Tivoli in 76, I was too young to go to the dance but when I Ieft high school, the 1st dance I paid to go in was Jah Love over in Spanish Town: the ras hold the mic little after they start collecting admissions and let it go when close to sunrise. He is the only DJ I see do that, he's the real king.
The non stop talker n never repeat lines this man can mc for hrs n be positive instead of slack big up papa briggy

In the 70's at the tivali garden community center after Briggy mash up di place!!! Over 12 hours non stop Rankin Trevor was there #RIP and U Roy was there both of them had to end up leaving for whatever reason in that dance he told Briggy he's the greatest DJ he has ever seen
