Both Rika and Battler were forced into gameboards with no knowledge about rules behind games while Satoko and Will just waltzed in, being already prepared for everything. Rika never had any control in any loops, it took her 100 years to understand all conditions of the game. Besides Rika was a literal child when she became a looper, how is it possible for 10 years old kid to survive? She was deeply traumatized by the whole situation and Featherine calls her "less resourceful"?

The Witch shall lose again and again, looking for that one nanoscopic chance of winning. The Witch of Certainty is a continuous winner. In order for the Witch to lose, a miracle must occur - a high improbable event that happens improbably in one's favour. The Winner shall take all and the Loser will receive nothing in this endless game between Witches.

If you get bored of doing the same thing over and again, or get traumatized and slip, you lose. A really hard working piece. You might "win" in the individual fragments but if you don't reach the ideal one, you didn't win. See Takano. However, The Witch of Miracles can pick some one who is lucky. You don't have to be Determined. Battler finds the Gold, a "miracle" in Episode 5 because he had Erika. He didn't really do anything. It just happen. So with Certainity, you constantly have to work, cannot let your guard down, and have to "win" consistently, for all eternity. With Miracles, you have to exist in the game until the Certain person opens a hole, or collapse under the mental weight. Basically, roll a fragment which the Certain person does something stupid, like allow all the Miracle person's pawns be one move from Queens. You get lucky, and Win Completely.

My theory: Eau doesn't just granted powers and authorities to Satoko just for fun but she need to know 'the truth' 'Mechanism of the game board' behind all of this. That's her curiosity. She believes that Satoko can demonstrates how to make the game board from zero and she want to see how Satoko realize the Oyashiro's curse while collecting the details that can be explained in scientific way. In the beginning, Eau created the game board concentrating on 'Event of Hinamizawa that everyone is being killed' but she was unable to explain about this. She can't find the satisfying explanations while losing to her opponent. the one thing is that Eau never knew the reason behind all of this : what exactly is Hinamizawa syndrome ? A curse?
The worst part about this sequel is that a lot of the interesting things that made Higurashi great are there, but it was just EXECUTED...SO...POORLY. It's really interesting how Ryukishi can write a masterful story on one whim and an interesting trainwreck on another.
Eua is just another self-insert Mary Sue fanfiction hack of a writer, a chuuni writer that has delusions of grandeur. Rather, I feel that is the tone they are going for with Eua on the meta-level. Of course in-universe she is just an obscenely powerful chuuni who has weaponized her distorted view of totality as a book to write and edit in order to stave off the dissolution of her sense of self. My theory: Eau doesn't just granted powers and authorities to Satoko just for fun but she need to know 'the truth' 'Mechanism of the game board' behind all of this. That's her curiosity.
She believes that Satoko can demonstrates how to make the game board from zero and she want to see how Satoko realize the Oyashiro's curse while collecting the details that can be explained in scientific way.
In the beginning, Eau created the game board concentrating on 'Event of Hinamizawa that everyone is being killed' but she was unable to explain about this. She can't find the satisfying explanations while losing to her opponent. the one thing is that Eau never knew the reason behind all of this : what exactly is Hinamizawa syndrome ? A curse?

The worst part about this sequel is that a lot of the interesting things that made Higurashi great are there, but it was just EXECUTED...SO...POORLY. It's really interesting how Ryukishi can write a masterful story on one whim and an interesting trainwreck on another.

Eua is just another self-insert Mary Sue fanfiction hack of a writer, a chuuni writer that has delusions of grandeur. Rather, I feel that is the tone they are going for with Eua on the meta-level. Of course in-universe she is just an obscenely powerful chuuni who has weaponized her distorted view of totality as a book to write and edit in order to stave off the dissolution of her sense of self. Yep, her "horns" are just a prop to "seal" her demonic power that could destroy all of reality! **gasp**
At least that's my theory. If we're going with fantasy being an illusion, then she's a chuuni in need of a therapist. If we're going with fantasy being a reality, then she's an absurdly powerful chuuni.
