You can limit the throttle on your controller, but if you're talking about price and kind of "practice" putting a quad together for the first time, then the Tyro99 he recommends might be a better option (cheaper at $99 for lower budget, if you're unsure about the hobby). If you've got a decent job though, and already know how to solder, then this looks to be plenty durable beginner. I still haven't broken my cursed ZMR250 frame with its 2mm arms. Its cursed because 5x flight controllers, handfuls of ESCs have fried, along with several motors, a couple receivers, etc. I've given up trying to keep it running, it could survive the fires of hell and live on to murder more components. So I think I'll just buy this quad...
This will be my first working drone, im going to be flying on 6s. maybe i'm stupid, maybe I want a good answer when someone asks me "what did you start on?" and don't want to say a tiny whoop

Several Dumb questions, 1. Why is there 2 links for drone? Normal? SE? What’s the difference? Sorry if you mentioned it but I didn’t hear it. 2. This drone is a good racer but is it good at acrobatics? Thanks if you could answer that would be appreciated. Also I would really appreciate a link to a video on what transmitter and all the other items I should buy, new to racing drones so not sure. Just jumping from 3S to 6S is WAY to big of a step. Just start on 4S by the time you are ready for 6S your 4S batteries will be worn and you will need to buy new batteries. If you fly regularly starting in the spring you will have no problem killing all you 4S packs by the end of the season.
Nirvana gets as much range as you'd expect from FlySky... a little more from the extendable antenna, but not enough to write home about. It really shines in its module support, though. I use R9 in my Nirvana and cannot be happier...
I use a Flysky FS-i6 Radio, which is very cheap at about 50$. I also use a tattu 6s 1300mAh batterypack even though I don't recommend it as I can see you are just starting off. AS a reciever I use a Flysky FS-A8S

@@ezracer why is that, are beginners better now than they were 3 years ago? 4s is still a little to fast for a beginner IMO. I started with 4s, and I would have probably broke a lot less on 3s, but that's what I had from other planes, and helos.

People are going to look back and think why the holy hell did these old timers have the RF right next to their head! Get that away from your skull at least.
He generally flies these "out of the box" since that's how he thinks most people fly them (early review versions sometimes have different pids shipped on them). What I've noticed is a lot of reviewers immediately throw away the stock props and put on their "favorite" before even flying it once. That's fine after you've tested the stock ones first obviously, but that will drastically change the tuning required, which can make them look either really bad, or improve them (and both are not representative of what you get out of the box). I for instance would use X props because Z reason, and that reviewer may use Y props because W reason, but if they use the stock props, that's what everyone will get, and that's what it was hopefully tuned for, so we get a good review that's representative of the product.
Check out Joshua Bardwell fly in 24 hours, they give you all the information you need to fly, every instruction is relevant. If your still having trouble this would help. Also there lots of videos for learning. If you can find someone to fly with, that also helps.
He's right a sim is different, and I only used one until I could just fly, I didn't try to hit gaps, or anything. I do believe you should get that far on a sim, because you at least understand the full scope of what a quad is capable of, now that I can fly pretty good, when I want to try something that's probably going to cause me to crash, I'll try it on the sim 1st. It's not the same, but you can still see how things will react. A simulator is definitely useful, obviously more to some than others.
I'm not sure would call this a Beginner drone high speed is what you want to learn with rather have slower longer battery life learn from then bump it up on the next drone when the slow one gets boring.
I'm assuming a beginner has never brought a drone so i highly recommend not spending $300+ on a drone. even if you did have $300 to spend on your first drone then you have to buy a radio, fpv goggles and many other things.
Looks awesome, but absolutely not for beginners!! Cant believe your trying those tactics. I also cant believe you deleted my other post. I got on here to send the link to a friend, because we like Diatone products, and noticed you deleted it. lol....
havent deleted anything, ill check the comment filters, but anythign with links, swearing and some other things gets held. so before you go around saying I deleted your stuff know that lots of comments get held often with 90% of them usually being totally fine. but it totally is for beginners, 4s makes it a great dig to learn on.
looks like diatone have made another great quad, but 2308 and 6s? i'm not sure thats really the way to go even for racing. i think the only reason racer do it is to get a set amount of laps in 2 minutes?, and its actually a little slower for racing? the thing is, there is a very definite well defined sweet spot, gravity makes most shapes fall around 128mph because then the air pressure is equal to the force of gravity and it stops accelerating, unless its spinning. so this means that 4 props and a frame will need massive increases in power to go only a few miles per hour faster at the top end, and the acceleration will still be pretty much the same. the difference between 3s and 4s is quite big on the 450-650g quads, but from 4s to 5s is not very big at all, and most people only report an improvement on voltage sag.
Umm. I think, just possibly, you and I have significantly different interpretations of what a "beginner" is
You can limit the throttle on your controller, but if you're talking about price and kind of "practice" putting a quad together for the first time, then the Tyro99 he recommends might be a better option (cheaper at $99 for lower budget, if you're unsure about the hobby).
