Just started flying drones about month ago i can gladly say watching your vids made me want to start flying. Awesome channel great vids 👍 i even went way back and watched your first vids
Dang stew!! 172k subs. I remember the gold old days when you were 4k and doing videos from your little messy workbench. Proud of you mate! You really make great videos. Keep them coming!
That someone else that received parts from Aomway and repaired themselves was me, I had to replace a receiver and the housing the cost for parts and shipping was $11.00. U.S.. they were fast to respond and very helpful...... thanks Stew for the in-depth review.. perfect timing!! 👍
this right here means a lot to me and lets me know that i am doing it right, the video was 37 minutes of information, not entertainment, so it makes me smile knowing you could and wanted to watch it all and learn about it
A great review Stu !. If I was in the market, I'd be buying Skyzones. I already have HDO's, but the lack of key features really annoys me ( yes, I'm a no power button hater ). That said, my main reasons were the great picture ( hard to argue ) , great customer service ( if I break them, I want to be able to get them fixed in North America, not slow boat to China) and the possibility of future modules. Liking the crazy hair thing, you look almost maniacal about quads !!! I'm a pateron, because you are the king of the new hobbyists, and you are responsible for getting so many people , around the world, into the air and excited about the hobby.. Keep it up, Stu, you are doing a great job !!!
Thanks Stew for the video. This helped me make my decision. I got the Skyzone ‘02C’ model in red. I really liked the interviews with other pilots. Hopefully get them soon (preorder - ship from 4 August)
Been watching the channel for a while and love the content. I have been flying for a while and have crap gear. I've been watching your review of all these goggles and have to say this video changed my pick. I was looking at the Eachine EV100 just because of the price but now I'm going to save up for the Skyzones. Thanks for the insight and keep up the good work!
i've got the makerfire VR008 pro when i first started with the armor65 lite in my starter kit. i got the skyzone 02c since i got better drones now with better cams and i love it.
Hi Stew, I can’t find the link for better antenna’s for the Skyzone 02, Cuz im probably Gonna buy these goggles and i need good antennes that give me good range
yeah I know, sorry about that, took about 10 hours of editing so dont want to do it again haha, the numbers part alone was like an hour. so frustrating haha
I'm disappointed that the Eachine EV-200D goggles aren't in this round up. I get that the warranty service on them may not be good, if you need it, but they are still 300 USD goggles and are full of features. Some of these features are not even available in the other goggles at all. Like dual upgradeable receiver module bays with the receivers included and a 42 degree FOV on 1280x720 screens. The Fat Shark HDO goggles don't even offer those features. *** Edit: I just did your experiment with Eachine, by sending an e-mail to their customer service, asking the same questions that you asked the companies that you did review in the video. I guess I'll see for myself what happens. Keep in mind that I sent the e-mail at just after 6:00 PM Shenzhen time and I live in El Paso, Texas, USA. I likely won't get a response until their next business day, at the earliest.
@@ClicksByKevin same and i have a true d x module on it as my friend has the rapid fire and i wanted to be different and so far 0 issues with the ev200d. Only complaint is the physical weight on the googles takes a bit getting use to at first
Eachine quality control takes them out of the running as long term goggles , iIMO. If you get lucky, you will get a pair that work and continue to work. If they fail, you will be in a world of slow customer service, with them asking you to send them videos describing the problem, followed by long poorly translated conversations with customer support. If you get lucky, they will ask you to ship them back, and you will wait. Buying Eachine goggles makes about as much sense as buying a Yugo for a car. Cheep, but prone to problems.
Wow thanks Stu. Dang I had my heart set on the Aomway's but now it is the SkyZones. Though to be fair I think Aomway may be inspired to kick the ball out of the park again like they did before. But that is the great thing about the hobby it gets better and better and we all get the benifits :). Keep up the good work Stu :)
Im a newbie and just got my skyzone sky02x's.. i don't know what to compare them to, but they look great.. only complaint is i have to adjust them oddly on my face to see straight ahead
Chris Morey still having that problem? Any solutions? I’m thinking of getting them because the ones I currently have are emax tinyhawk rtf googles that came with the kit hit they feel like they should be on a child’s head. I have to wear them up inanely high to see the entire screen
@@xReaperx5 absolutely.. super clear, no real complaints yet. I got the fatshark diopters and they fit fine.. got a dual 18650 battery pack for it that goes great with it too
Chris Morey ok I think I’m gonna have to get a pair then. I didn’t realize you could use 18650’s for those. Do they perform better than let’s say a 3s? I’m a super beginner so I’m not aware of a lot lol
Thank you so much for all these super helpful videos! I’m new to drones but I’ve been educating and researching myself , I know what types I like and want as a first drone but the first buy is critical bcs you don’t want to over spend or get the wrong drone to learn but I also don’t want to go too cheap where I won’t get the right experience and get a bad impression of the hobby. I’m a quick learner I’ve been building rc half my life but I’ve been trying hard to get a free drone from one of the many pros that are making these videos and promotions! Can’t afford on the holidays so fingers crossed!
Excellent work Stew! Top notch as always! I would try the skyzones if I was just getting in but I had box goggles for my first ones LOL But keep up the excellent work!
I love that the skyzones come in different colors n patterns. Too bad that everywhere I fly is always too hot and I need to get white or my face melts off. Even the silver plastic on my super generic Taranis gets uncomfortably hot. I'm considering making a transmitter cozy except for HOT weather instead of cold, just to keep the direct sun off my hands and wrists. (the dark green and the amber are great, I wish more electronics came in colors like that)
Hey, I'm thinking about skyzone or fatshark . In terms of longer range fpv (2-3 km) which would be better and why? Or should I buy some better Fatsharks straight away (HDO, Dominator)?
Tried some fatsharks and Skyzone. I prefer box goggles sooooo much more, it's so immersive and love a big image. Ppl think it's weird when you are racing or doing sweet freestyle when you are wearing box goggles. I swear half these guys buy them for the looks and not what makes them fly well
Hey, Great video! I am a physically disabled artist who only uses a mouse to interface with my PC. I'm looking at using a FPV goggle as a monitor to maximize workspace. What FPV goggle would you recommend for that use? I have glasses for nearsightedness, if that matters. Lower profile the better. Thanks!
I really dont know how you got the numbers for reception - did you use the antennas that came with the googles? a little dvr footage would have been nice there imo, especially since you cant really put external modules in all of these googles... other than that - solid review :D
Is just me that finds the different order in the table and on the bench confusing? For the rest keep up your awesome videos mate! :) *continues watching* Additionally, this whole video I have basically not heard anyone be positive about the aomways and I'm surprised at your conclusion in this regard, I would definitely only consider Skyzones and Fatsharks personally, judging from your reviews.
Hey Stew! Bought the Attitude V5, and sent them back. Could not get the IPD to work for my head, and the OSD menu was horrific. Also came to find out the DVR was defective, as all recordings no matter which quad was washed out. Too bad as I really wanted to like them. One more thing. I use 200 diopters in my Commanders which help, but made no difference in the V5. I also believe the screens are too close to my eyes. I currently use Commander V1, and love them. But since I wanted to upgrade, the Sky02C is what I just purchased through your link. Guess I should have watched this video first. Thanks for all you do! Steve Harding, Georgia USA.
Great review :) Has helped a lot, since I'm thinking of buying some better goggles at the end of the year (when raking in all the x-mas money :D). The Skyzone sound great indeed :D One last question remains, do you have any idea if there are options to add prescription lenses?
@@UAVfutures Think that'll be the skyzones then, I'll get them through your link, first I got to check that they will work with my Swellpro Spry, live on a boat so gotta have a water proof FPV. The Spry seems very confusing ... it runs wifi and anologue I think... need to find out. Cheers
I can’t believe Sean from Aomway said they would send you parts for free, they wanted $45 AUD to send me parts to fix my Commander V1 DVR or send the goggles to a street address in China which would cost me about the same with shipping and insurance. Needless to say I never got the DVR fixed and it took me a month to get a response.
BTW I thought the commanders were pretty good but I’m not a fan of 16:9 and I have to say my new HDOs are a whole other level even though the commanders are the most comfortable goggles I’ve ever tried.
One problem with Fatshark and Skyzone is availability. Wherever you look, they'll be on preorder. That will change, of course. Having said that, for me, there'll be an extra cost because I really need correction lenses. So far, only my big old Viper allows me to wear my prescription glasses.
I was going to buy the Fat Sharks until the guy mentioned his eyelashes hitting the goggles. I get that all the time with other products, so Skyzones it is!
Great content as always Stew!! I really love the way everything is integrated in the Skyzones. I may get a pair when they'er in stock to compare to my Dom V3s and just sell the pair I like the least.
Hi stew, I have pretty horrible long range vision. What goggles would you recommend for me? I’m also thinking of the EV 800D but I’m not sure about the comfort
Still using my flykey rafale's as recommended by you a few years ago. Reception is great, FOV same as these three, and screen resolution same or higher. So to me unless resolution is more than my old goggles then little reason to "upgrade". It would just be a side way step. Sitting tight waiting for HD digital. Any century now.....
Great compare vid Stu! I have the Aomway Commander V1. The right sided receiver broke...I’ve tried contacting them, but have not heard back for awhile. Any idea how to get a replacement? Got a number or email you have found effective? THX!
Hi, can we talk more about BangNotSoGood. Ordered last week and just got a email saying it is out of stock now! 2nd time they did this. But this is a good thing. I canceled. I’ve own my old Fat Sharks for 4 years it’s still going. So maybe I will get another Fatshark because of the option to add a different module and of course the service.
After owning a pair of aomway v1s and the dvr button breaking off, and costumer support is non existent. I would never buy a pair of these again...ever!
Thank you for this video! Excellent information. Watched the whole thing. Leaning towards the skyzones but...Bangood? I dont want to wait a week for them to ship them and then wait a month for them to arrive. I can order the v5s on amazong and have them here in two days. Also can return very easily if needed.
Interesting breakdown, but I'd say the fxt viper deserves to be on that list as an alternative. Still the best option out there for those of us with strong glasses prescriptions. Otherwise, great video!
Hey Stu why haven't you included the ev200d I'm looking to get a new pair of goggles and think I'm gonna go for the ev's I think, how would you compare them to these goggles?
The Skyzones interface is way way better than ev200D, Ev200D takes Rapidfirewithout mods/ribboncable. (or TrueD for that matter) Optics both reasonable ev200D little more blurry on the edges, but 12 degree more FOV is huge. Ev200D H264 encoding for DVR , Skyzones MJPEG/AVI Skyzone powerbutton helps also, ev200D doesnt have one like most goggles, but only annoying having to hold a button 10seconds to record every time you unplug the battery. Pick a side... PS the stock ev200D modules are cheap as hell and they really already have good reception. I'm not using quadversity because im short on RHCP panels xD
that is a really good point, i would say aomway have the lesser of the bunch, and skyzone and fatshark both work quite well. what goggles are you currently using?
Thanks for this very useful comparison Stu! I actually started a couple of months ago, right before all those new models came out of course :( I went for the Sky02s and was wondering if you'd recommend the upgrade to the Sky02x? I do miss the fan but other than that, is there a difference in image, comfort or menu navigation (which is so not intuitive on my goggles)?
Am I the only person who sees AMWAY instead of Aomway.? MLM door to door FPV product sales scam? Middle aged housewives getting together and selling each other cloverleaf antennas and OSDs? (also probably going to spring for the Aomway goggles if something new hasn't appeared in the last 3 months)
I must have the face of a hammerhead shark. My 02c's came with the puffy face pad and my ipd must be wide because both of my adjustments are far apart and my edges and corners are partially blocked.
Still, think your build video was way more important than glasses... I would have rather known that the frame was cheap and it would have been better to invest in a better one than go crash it... Goggles r cool but beginners need a strong quad if they wanna fly. What do u think?
I use a diversity monitor with fat shark base SD... They're great. Uses eye cups, no light leak no needing big squishy face plate to fit just right, very light weight, 35 fov, no light leak. 70usd. I like them allot. Can always wire in a module of my own (will be soon) And getting in the air with diversity goggles and a monitor for under 150 is nice..
@@UAVfutures i dont, maybe ill throw one together... but no, no sweat in your eyes the cups are only just a bit bigger than your eyes to start with and then drips of sweat wont get past the edge of them and then into your eyes, and you wont sweat from that part of your face right around your eyes. I dunno ive never had to take them off and wipe my eyes....like swimming goggles--one on each eye...but more comfortable
i fly dom v3s realacc div receiver. i use home made helicals and the setup works great . just looking for 100dollar goggles for a second pair to show people who are unfamiliar with fpv . nothing huge though
Damn, I really wish the skyzone Sky02C was 4:3 and had replaceable modules. That would be the perfect goggle for me. Right now, I'm split between the Focal DVR and the Attitude V5. Edit: just found out that the skyzones have an external module accessory thing, and have 4:3 letterboxing. I guess I'm buying these!
Fatsharks are 16:10 aspect ration, 4:3 is 16:12 ration. So attitudes are closer to 16:9 than 4:3. If I have done my math right to stretch 16:9 to 16:10 you need to increase height by 11% but with 4:3 you need to lower image height by 25%. So if there is no image cropping in Attitudes, I belive they are better suited for 16:9 camera. I did order Attitudes, mainly due the reason they have service center on my continent, when I get them I can do some testing with aspect rations.
You should consider going over used options - there's lots and lots of used goggles for sale via RCGroups, FB, etc, and can be a good way to get into gear at a lower price.
My heart is bleeding every time when guys keeps goggles lenses towards to sky... Stew, can you make comparison between new Sky02C/X and old Sky02s V+, please?
Here's my question stu would you pick the skyzones over the HDOs? I know the HDOs are crazy expensive but if you were upgrading like I want to from aomway v1 what would you chose?
Thanks for the video - but I;m Holding out for the Orca's - I need to see a side-by-side with the Orca's and the HDO's. You got to do that. I'm really excited about the Orca's resolution.
Great format, informative and helpful... Hope you're having a great vacation! Cheers PS Skyzones it is, I'm still rocking the ev100s and the box 800s. LoL

So to me unless resolution is more than my old goggles then little reason to "upgrade". It would just be a side way step. Sitting tight waiting for HD digital. Any century now.....
great comparison
Great compare vid Stu!
I have the Aomway Commander V1. The right sided receiver broke...I’ve tried contacting them, but have not heard back for awhile. Any idea how to get a replacement? Got a number or email you have found effective? THX!
Hi, can we talk more about BangNotSoGood. Ordered last week and just got a email saying it is out of stock now! 2nd time they did this. But this is a good thing. I canceled. I’ve own my old Fat Sharks for 4 years it’s still going. So maybe I will get another Fatshark because of the option to add a different module and of course the service.
Thanks stew for doing my video idea! You're the best mate!!
Yeh stew I agree. When someone is sitting on ur face all day u want them to be as comfortable as possible.
🤣🤣🤣
I explain this at the end of the video, but pretty much I dont think those goggles are anywhere close to these ones in this video, what do you think?
The Skyzones interface is way way better than ev200D, Ev200D takes Rapidfirewithout mods/ribboncable. (or TrueD for that matter)
Optics both reasonable ev200D little more blurry on the edges, but 12 degree more FOV is huge.
Ev200D H264 encoding for DVR , Skyzones MJPEG/AVI
Skyzone powerbutton helps also, ev200D doesnt have one like most goggles, but only annoying having to hold a button 10seconds to record every time you unplug the battery.
Pick a side...
PS the stock ev200D modules are cheap as hell and they really already have good reception. I'm not using quadversity because im short on RHCP panels xD
In a vague way at the end! I wish you took them to the field with the other three.
Mine have been solid and a bargain considering features.
I wonder if the eachine 100s are biasing opinions.... 200s have nothing in common
right now fatshark v5 263$ and skyzone o2x is over 400$..... non dipped still 317$ damn fatshark killing it for the prices!
16:9 FTW. Seems like Aomway Commander V1S is V1 with a different color and a few more channels.
Fatshark altitude v5, fatshark will have your back to the end no matter what, customer support 2nd to none
Great video.. Its clear you did a lot of work, making your mind with these goggles. Good job Stew-A-V
Sadly only 30° FOV. I need about 50 to enjoy it. can you recommend any? I thought about the fatshark scout.
Good vid only thing I would like to know is the quality of the DVR's in each of the googles thanks Stu
that is a really good point, i would say aomway have the lesser of the bunch, and skyzone and fatshark both work quite well. what goggles are you currently using?
Thanks for this very useful comparison Stu! I actually started a couple of months ago, right before all those new models came out of course :( I went for the Sky02s and was wondering if you'd recommend the upgrade to the Sky02x? I do miss the fan but other than that, is there a difference in image, comfort or menu navigation (which is so not intuitive on my goggles)?
thanks for making this, I'm sure it will help a lot of people
On a budget, I couldn't resist Banggood's US $219.99 price for the Aomway (about 20 minutes ago).
Can always wire in a module of my own (will be soon) And getting in the air with diversity goggles and a monitor for under 150 is nice..
do you have a video on it? you should make one, people would like to see this. do your eyes get sweaty though?
@@UAVfutures i dont, maybe ill throw one together... but no, no sweat in your eyes the cups are only just a bit bigger than your eyes to start with and then drips of sweat wont get past the edge of them and then into your eyes, and you wont sweat from that part of your face right around your eyes. I dunno ive never had to take them off and wipe my eyes....like swimming goggles--one on each eye...but more comfortable
good vid i would definatly choose the skyzones from what u say . hey whats the best box goggle though ?
i fly dom v3s realacc div receiver. i use home made helicals and the setup works great . just looking for 100dollar goggles for a second pair to show people who are unfamiliar with fpv . nothing huge though
When the fatsharks attitude v5 are going to be realesed? Im in need of a googles and want them.
Just got the eachine ev300d. I hope they are descent.
Sir Stew tank you I just got the Skyzone´s 2c and they are great yeah... Im into them :)
I currently have a Sky01 goggles - waiting on my V5 pre-order and RF module - beginning to doubt my upgrade choice - thoughts?
What are some better antennas to get for the skyzones?
Tuff review Stew...Well done!
Great Video, great testing, helps a lot before buying. Thank you!
Has there been some major updates? The price on the Skyzones are way more expensive.
Plug the Fatshark battery case into the Skyzones.
What is usually your max range in an open field with the different type of goggles? Or, at least help point me where i could find out. Appriciate it
Here's my question stu would you pick the skyzones over the HDOs? I know the HDOs are crazy expensive but if you were upgrading like I want to from aomway v1 what would you chose?
What about the camera that goes on the racer? What do you recommend?
What do you think about the fatshark scout?
Would be nice if u went through the menus a bit more, but still great vid
Thanks for the video - but I;m Holding out for the Orca's - I need to see a side-by-side with the Orca's and the HDO's. You got to do that. I'm really excited about the Orca's resolution.
i bet that fatshark has something on their sleeve to beat orqas
Do you have the eachine ev200d? How they compare to the skyzone and fastshark?
Great format, informative and helpful... Hope you're having a great vacation! Cheers
PS Skyzones it is, I'm still rocking the ev100s and the box 800s. LoL
I prefer box goggles alot more than fatsharks etc. It's just soooo much more immersive and the image is huge.
Ooh, skyzones?
I didn't expect!
Would these work on Contixco drones?
Hey Stew great review as always! Can the Skyzone goggles take another receiver module like the rapid fire etc? Thanks Stew (-:
whats stopping me from ordering the Fatsharks: earliest shipping end of august.. lol.
Great review stu
thanks nomad. what goggles you flying?
@@UAVfutures Hey Stu, I currently fly skyzone sky03 and my previous goggle which I still have and my wife uses is skyzone Sky02. Can't fault them. 2 years flying now and still love it. Apart from the rubbish Melbourne weather at the moment. Its like being back in the uk!
whats the difference between the 02c and the 02x?
02X has front outside seeing camera so you don’t have to remove goggles and 3D mode
What antenna for the sky zone should we get
looks like stew has been madly working!
I'm very surprised the fatshark, using Oled screens, lost out on image vibrance. Oleds are normally amazing for that...
