I used to ride this train route almost daily to work and back. Its spot on. The part of the route that runs from burbank airport through sylmar?san fernando is the sketchiest part when youre hitting top speed blowing through highly congested traffic crossings. The train is on the horn literally the entire way through that part
Little fun fact at 36:42, the original SP mainline alignment is the modern day siding. In 1992 Metrolink came in and created that new straighter alignment, but rather than getting rid of the original alignment, they turned it into a siding track. There was another weird split off like that near the current placement of the Vista Canyon station, but with the inception of the Vista Canyon station Metrolink just straightened out the siding east of the freeway to parallel the modern mainline in 2022-23.
Was there used to be an old track in sylmar san fernando tracks close to the station? because I was going by those tracks, and I see rusted old rails hidden in the railroad crossing path, and I wonder if there used to be an old second path. You can't see it in the game but irl I see old rails poking out of the crossing path.
@@LC25av Yes, that was the old Pacoima Siding. Metrolink removed the connection in 1992, but eventually will double track the entire Burbank-Sylmar section in Phase 2 of SCORE.

Nice work again, entertaining, relaxed, honest feeling. I've been following BG every now and then for about a year, and subscribed to the channel last summer 👍👍👍
Looks pretty clean. With some of the things lacking though, its crazy(but not unexpected in these days of gaming) that some of the surrounding things other than the train arent completely there yet. Its the 4th iteration of the game and by now they should have a good understanding of what it takes to be more complete. Yet again another well made video brother. Hope things are 💯. Wow i live off of San Fernando road in Glendale. Thats the road its riding beside. I see this train every morning @ 8:30 on the way to work. It gets priority so all the lights turn red 😡. Also the Burbank south station looks just like that.
Union Pacific runs alot of frieght down this line into that yard you pointed out. The frieght line comes out of bakersfield, over the cajon pass, into mojave through palmdale and down onto the antelope valley line into DTLA
@@BluGames yep on the ventura County line an egineer was texting while driving witch ran a red signal and smashed head on into a freight train. Could've been alot worse if it happened inside the tunnel it was really close to. 25 people died surprisingly all 3 people in the freight train survived
I also agree with you that it should be that the game loads the whole map in the loading but we still have to keep in mind the people who got lower end pc, which would take many hours before they could play
There's not a lot of freight on the Antelope Valley line. UP runs a couple of Z trains and a rock train a day on it and that's about it. Hit those platforms at around 40 mph if you're conservative. If you got balls and want to look cool, hit them at 50 +. You hit Sylmar (27:00) EXACTLY how you're supposed to. That was a proper commuter stop. Don't be afraid of that independent, use it if you need to and stand those passengers up, they got to get off anyway. In real life, you do need to make sure you spot a door on the ADA ramp so if there is a passenger in a wheelchair they can get on the train. But, plenty of guys roll the dice and pretend it's not there. I know I NEVER gave a shit about that ramp.
The tall building nearby is the MTA building. The portrayal of the mountains is fairly accurate. They are brown most of the time. Hart Park is missing. Section along Soledad Canyon Rd in Santa Clarita is pretty accurate.
Assuming this is a weekday at 630 this place would be buzzing. I was at LA Union station (LAUS) IRL two weeks ago at 530 AM and it was a whole lot busier than this! Also it’s no longer the Gold line. The routings have changed downtown for all the light rail routes and they all have letters instead of colors but for the most part they kept theirs. The Gold Line was deleted and the A line (blue line) took the Pasadena section including this stop in the game and the E line (expo line) took over the gold lines north Los Angeles section Previous to these changes it used to be necessary for some riders to make two transfers. Now riders should only need one if they need any at all. And why are they metrolink tickets at the metro station they are two different systems? These should be metro vending machines. Ive used one of those machines pictured IRL in said visit. Also past the A line (gold line) if you were to walk past those walls IRL you’d enter the Amtrak and metrolink station area and B and D (formerly red / purple subway lines). Important to note that if you use an actual metrolink vending machine they can spit out both metrolink tickets and Amtrak tickets. Great work metrolink and Amtrak. On the other side past those walls there’s an alternate entry to the b and d lines and also LA Metro customer service offices (local transit). There’s also local buses and FlixBus at a transit center nearby. It’s also the HQ for LA Metro.
Man for once I'd love to see more west coast routes. Would dream of full california routes, pacific surfliner and san joaquin amtraks, and a long haul like los angeles to chicago or at least texas but we never get those 😢
I know the devs said peninsula, antelope, and cajon all go together, I wonder if they’d make it possible for you to run through each one and once you reached the end of a route it stops and asks if you want to continue on and it loads up the next, that way it’s like running them back to back to back
