- British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, former US President Bill Clinton and Secretary Hillary Clinton, Irish Taoiseach Leo Vardkaar, EU leaders, former Prime Minister Tony Blair and many other VIPs attend a Good Friday Agreement 25th anniversary dinner gala at the Royal Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland.
The VIPs travelled to Northern Ireland to attend the Belfast Agreement 25th Anniversary conference at Queen's University in Belfast. President Biden was also present the week before.
The vehicles used by dignitaries ranged from armoured Skoda Superb with the Police Service of Northern Ireland, BMWs with An Garda Síochána, a US Embassy Mercedes, and Range Rovers often used by police close protective teams. Only the UK Prime Minister received a motorcycle escort, with support from Police Scotland.

Very eventful day here. I live in Hillsborough, earshot of the entrance to the castle. Interesting having secret service and PSNI doing a sweep on the lane and entrance to our oil tank lol
Certainly quite the spectacle for Hillsborough. Lovely quant town, with all the 'big folk' descending on it in their armoured cars and police escorts! I'm sure you had something similar when George Bush landed there?

Armoured Skodas, nice, wonder if we will get them here in NZ?
They're very common in NI as they're used for patrol and response. So you'll see them in most communities.
Is New Zealand planning on getting some?
@@CobraEmergency hopefully since we have replaced Holden with Skoda. So far have superbs as prime ones, 4wd kodiaqs and supposedly EV enyaqs.
Police have a few armoured Toyota landcruisers for special tactics group so a few of these could be useful for tasks like this. No doubt skoda will pitch them as they seem to be pumping them into police circulation here at the moment (wasn't a common brand here prior) with hundreds on the road in only a couple of years.
The Superb is a better car than many people give it credit for. I have had a couple and they were both the most comfortable, reliable and fuel efficient cars that I have owned. They sell so many cars to the emergency services in the UK (about 6000 a year) that they have a dedicated website for Blue light purchases. They have taken BMW's market share for emergency vehicles since BMW recent decision to withdraw from the Police market.

If you like Skoda's you should watch the latest season of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan. The Czech PM and her team use them and they look great 👌🏻

Fun fact: It's easy to spot unmarked police Skoda's here in NI if you use polarised sunglasses. The armoured glass gives off a weird glare.

Seems the armored skodas are in hot demand. Even the Israeli PM, one of the most protected person in the world uses an armored Skoda - probably replaced the fleet of armored Audis.

This is Northern Ireland. An area of severe likelihood of armed attack. All leaders need to be transported in heavily armoured cars. You won't see electric cars transporting here. You would be much more wise to research.

4:32 was a CD-registered (Diplomatic) armoured X5, which belongs to the US Embassy in Dublin. The Mercedes at 5:04 has a diplomatic plate belonging to the US, presumably from their consulate in Belfast. I will also assume that there were ambassadors or other representatives of the US in those convoys.
As Josh said! There were US diplomats in attendance with vehicles from their Embassies/Consulates.
It's not often I film motorcycles doing escorts with siren. The rest of the UK uses whistles instead. Made it different! :)
reds at the front are legal in ireland, a few fire and rescue services around the country use red and blue light bars as well as red and blue lights, front and backy
