    I've just recently stumbled onto this pod cast and can't get enough from it! I'm currently working on my classes to take the NMLS exam and get my career started a MLO. I had no knowledge or background in this field but have worked in jobs that especially pertained in customer service. I've been working hard to learn as much as possible and I have to say, that stumbling onto this podcast has been the most informative and beneficial for me! I know I have lots to learn and I'm absolutely excited to get started and helping people through being a MLO

    I’ve listened/watched every episode. Been soaking up y’all’s content like a sponge. I’m in the hospitality/hotel industry and looking to get out. Y’all’s content has motivated to make the switch. I’m currently taking the 20-hour required course and then taking the NMLS exam shortly thereafter. I have a potential job lined up on other side with Guild Mortgage. Super pumped to hit the ground running

    Very informational ...I might have to go through more of the podcasts bc there might an answer to my question but I was curious to know since I am looking to get into the business. Currently in the position of an LOA for a bank, would it be better to start off as an LO for a bank or throw myself into a self sourced mortgage company ? What are the differences? What’s the best step to take in the position that I am in right now?

    • @TheLoanOfficerPodcast
      @TheLoanOfficerPodcast  3 года назад +1

      Hey Cindy- thanks for the question! This is a tough one as it is an individual decision based many factors such as adversity to risk, months of liquid reserves, where you are in life etc. Personally, we are “go big or go home” people. We tend to lean hard into becoming a purchase focused, realtor/ builder referred self-sourced lender. However, we recognize that not all folks are wired like us. Check out Episode 41. It might offer more insight.ruclips.net/video/dm_fvJhiW4E/видео.html

How do we know when to work a littler harder or when to call it quits. Sounds self explanatory but you'd be surprised for us newbies. Thank you in advanced. #approvedbylee

    You guys mention Xinnix a lot, do your MLOs take ground schools and flight school and officer training or just ground school? Thoughts on if you should do officer school right away if you are new ?

    • @TheLoanOfficerPodcast
      @TheLoanOfficerPodcast  3 года назад +1

      Hey Sasha - great question! We recommend our LOs take ground school at a minimum. You should think about officer school after you have close 100 loans.

      Mike build his business around his circle of influence. He leveraged the friends he had from high school to his friends in college to his friends at his gym and most importantly, he reconnected with his clients from when he sold cars. Every one of those people either is looking to buy a home or knows someone who is looking. They also know local Realtors and Builders who they can connect with Mike. Many of them already own homes and Mike offers them free annual mortgage reviews.

    What do you do when you work with only refi and interest rates go up?

    • @TheLoanOfficerPodcast
      @TheLoanOfficerPodcast  3 года назад +2

      Hey Darmen - thanks for the question! Pivot. Pivot quickly. Make it a point to get out and meet face-to-face with five Realtors a week for the next 12 weeks. Your goal is to build real relationships and find ways to help the Realtors achieve their business goals. Work open houses on the weekend. This means showing up, dressed professional; introduce yourself to the real estate agent who is hosting the open house and let them know that you are a lender and you are available to answer any questions potential buyers may have.
