They are three benefit in this plan below
If you choose 5000 pension amount
1. From the age 60, you will get 5000 pension amount every month
2. After your death, your spouse will get 5000 pension amount every month
3. After you and your spouse death, your mentioned nominee (think your child) will get 8.5 lakh corpus amount at once

You forgot about income tax payer eligibility as per the recent announcement on 1st October 2022. “Any citizen who is or has been an income-tax payer, shall not be eligible to join APY.”
Now I'm not a tax payer and I applied APY but in future I became tax payer means what they will do
