James you are just on some kind of different level! I really enjoy your compositions. They always sound amazing, and It floors me how effortless you make it look. I once bought one of your guitar pro files to learn Cry Me A River the way you play it. I’m maybe 60% accurate (I need at least 5 more fingers!), and it still sounds great!

okay seriously, guitarist to guitarist...how the hell do you learn to play vocal notes within the chords? where do you even start to splice that together and how does one break down the timing and decide when and how to modify the existing chord. i cant seem to wrap my head around the concept of playing a chord "wrong" in order to predict where the lyrical part would be positioned and make it sound right. this fascinates me. all i can think to do is play the song, and then record another performance of just the vocal stringing on top and it doesnt have the same wow factor.

It's because when someone is singing they are still aiming for notes, they are just putting it on the guitar where they think it sounds good.
Welcome to Fingerstyle guitaring bud! I think its 3-4 recognizable noted within a chord and then the vocalist note.
All chord notes are within a scale. So you just find the right chord, and there is pretty much high chance that vocal line note will be there. So you play vocal line and just let your right hand hit other strings when you feel it sounds good

Lol, I'm russian too. Eventhough I think that comment was mostly a joke, as a russian guy myself, I can relate to it. Due to the more and more poor state of economics I can't afford as much as 10 years ago, eventhough the electronics are becoming cheaper overall. The bad presidency and exponentially growing taxes will make it hard to survive in the near future. I'm already looking foward to eating hogwash after 20 more years with Putin👍
