WIth all honesty I like both but I prefer the Genesis one a little bit better mainly because I like the colors better and carnage can use dead, death, or die in the comic cutscenes, both games are playable.
I own both versions of the game. All I have are the carts though, I even played both versions back in the day. Personally I like the Genesis version better but then I had more exposure to that version as a kid as a friend had it, my brother only rented the SNES version as a kid (I had the Genesis, my brother had the SNES).
I enjoy the SNES version of the game more since the soundtrack and sound effects sound better to my ears. The colors on the SNES version are brighter so its a win for me. The red cart for SNES is supposedly easier to find than the red cart variant of Genesis. Both ports are worth owning and playing by fans of super hero games.

The sound quality chip on the SNES is way better, but does anyone else like how the Genesis music sounds more? It's like they had to rebuild from scratch the music for the Genesis version to tailor it to a lower quality sound chip and in the process change which sound layers are prioritized for the better. EXAMPLE- 34:07 when the cutscene music switches from SNES to Genesis, I love the way the Genesis music sounds way more menacing and eerie. SNES just focuses on the drum and bass.

I like everything about the Genesis version better for sound on this game I recommend a subwoofer, on the Super Nintendo it sounds like Spiderman is at a concert but don't get me wrong it still sounds good!

See lots of places where SNES fades and Genesis/Megadrive blinks... and not just screen transitions: stuff like flashing arrows. There are some places where SNES scrolls in and Genesis does not. A few places where the SNES version darkens the entire screen and Genesis doesn’t, like when Spidey finds the secret room. Sample-based music is usually better but it makes a lot better sound effect here too, like all the “oomfs” and “arghs” when brawling.
snes sounds very good. especially at 32:30. it rocks! I know, sega can too ("Thunder Force IV" as one of an example), and it could be a tie. but it not happened. i choose snes. but both games are very similar, especially in graphics.
The gameplay is exactly the same on both machines, so having better sound and effects makes the whole package better. They even use the same resolution for the graphics in this game.

Umm not really. The "High Speed" Genesis games use Frame Deletion in order to run at a playable frame rate. For example, If you were to attempt to port Donkey Kong Country to the Genesis Mega Drive you would have to remove atleast two parallax scrolling backgrounds, atleast one third of the frames and 195 colors in order for the game to run @ 30 FPS we see this in the Homebrewed Donkey Kong 99. If you were to port a Genesis Mega Drive game that runs @ 60 FPS to the SNES it would run @ 162 FPS, we see this in the Homebrew Sonic the Hedgehog 4. The Genesis Mega Drive has a higher clock speed but it's a much older architecture than the SNES's CPU. The SNES's CPU is still 460,000 instructions per second faster than the Genesis Mega Drive's and does it with less than half the clock speed of the Genesis Mega Drive's and not only that but the SNES's memory is 2.7 times faster than the Genesis Mega Drive's.

@@tskraj3190 Now thats just bullshit. 1. the genesis cpu is much more powerful than the snes cpu, the snes cpu may have more instructions per second but the 68000 instruction do much more. 68000 has 16 32bit registers, flat address space, can do 32bit math ops in one instruction. snes cpu, 3 registers A, X, Y, all math ops go through A, banked address space. 2. The genesis gpu is less capable than the snes in terms of colors and layers but that has nothing to do with frame rate, both the snes and the genesis gpus render at 60fps, no other speed, there is no framebuffer, it renders sprites and background tiles in real time as it scans the screen. 3. If you were to attempt to port Donkey Kong Country to the genesis frame rate would not be an issue, the problem is the colors and the layers, the graphics would take a downgrade, but whatever was left would run at 60

The Genesis/Mega Drive would take 3,568 memory cycles to complete one scanline which could only do 80 sprites while the SNES did it with 1,364 cycles and 128 sprites.

Look I had this game for both systems and it's great on both but the sound quality is wayy better on snes gameplay is better as well and listen to the deep bossfight. U hear the difference in music

Esse jogo no Snes e tão superior em tudo que deixa o do Mega como um erro, esse som do Mega e nojento demais, ficou muito mal feito, no Snes a trilha sonora e animal. SEGA wins for the better brightness-level. It's way too dark on SNES. Concerning the colors I see no difference, both are equal.

You missed the secret room in the san francisco level. You have to do the special move in front of the atm to enter it.
