    I'm realised how easy it is to drift away from the story of Queen Nandi to King Shaka without noticing.

    I went from not liking the Zulu culture to being totally obsessed. I love everything about it and I am taking the time to know about our African history and the Zulu people in particular.

    I love your content on Nandi, Chaka Zulu and Nandi are legendary African figures, whom I truly love, love, love, I believe if Chaka was left alone from European interference, history would have bin different, but that is another story within it self, but I am enjoying your content keep up the good work.

    Thank you for reminding us of how powerful women are especially since men stole our power. How does the beautiful Queen Nandi connect with Amanzimtoti?

    • @sanelenxumalo2058
      @sanelenxumalo2058 3 года назад +8

      We don't call our elders by names our Culture. The Name Nandi can be translated as "ENTICING" or "NICE". When Shaka went pass by the Place which is now called Amanzimtoti he Drank water and they were enticing.. since we cannot call our elders by their names, he couldn't say "Amanzi amNandi" which with translation says "these waters are enticing or nice" that would have been disrespect towards the Queen, his Mother . He had to come up with a Substitute Word for Nandi and opted for "amtoti" which also means nice or enticing. That's how the name AMANZIMTOTI came. And that's how Queen Nandi and Amanzimtoti are Linked.. I hope you understand

    Her name is Nandipha, coming from amaXhosa tribe of oNomahlubi or amaHlubi clan led by Zibhebhe which settled in what was the amaZulu territory seeking refuge for their ailing Chief, Her mother being fair uNomkhosi was intermarried and she said to the amaZulu...Nandipha! (um-tu!/ ixha-tu! )
    King siShaka was not as dark as he is portrayed, he was very light in skin tone because of the blood of these first people carried through by amaXhosa-na (khosana - Khoisan). A Makhosana abantwana beNkosi, Sana means child. The Khoisan were called aBantwana be Nkosi meaning the first people. Inkosana is known to be first born child of a King. When the Ba-tu/Ko-ngo would meet them they would bow and say Bayekeni aBantwana be Nkosi.
    The word Karoo come from ¡Xharu or Kgaru meaning vast land or self determination.
    Nandipha as a young woman did not name her Son Shaka, the boy took the name to conceal his and her Mother's identity within the clan, he would say Ngiyi siShaka mina, isiShaka into ekhulela ngaphakathi or that which attaches itself nokuthi the child was hidden in his early years until he had to go to initiation and there he encountered challenges being a mama's boy and a feminist. He vowed to destroy the part of culture when his time comes. His legitimacy to the throne was also based on his Khoisan background kwathiwa uyiveza ndlebe meaning mixed tribe. We should ask the Rain Queen uMkhaya-abayi for King Shaka's name when we see Her or when it rains.
    uShaka uyiNkosana yase Mashobeni ezangomeni, niyalazi iShoba ke...akekho kwaZulu!
    Obviously there is no truth in what I have just stated...its Fiction!
    Thank you for Sharing, looking forward to your next presentation.

    Nginge yena owa kwaZulu, nethi kuya ngicacela ukuthi ulwazi onalo ngomlando walo buKhosi bakwa Zulu lune zikhala eziningi kakhulu Dadewethu. Okunga kusiza ekukhuleni, yikho ukuqhubeka wenze uphenyo olunzulu ngomlando we Sintu uwonkana. Uluqaphe kakhulu lolu lwazi olwamukela selu humushwe ngolwimi lwabo kufika, ngoba lusuke seluhlenekezelwe ukufeza izinhloso ezithize.

    It was Queen Nandi who made the way for Shaka to rule and not the other way around. Give honour where honour is due because NO great man has ever risen up without a GREATER woman by his side. It was Nandi who raised him up to be calculating and ruthless king that he became. She was the real POWER behind the power.
    It's time we recignises the power of GREAT women who make normal men look great.

    You explain it so lightly 🤣🤣🤣it wasn't unnecessary scandal... Senzangakhona and Nandi were related so this was an embarrassment (incest) hence the Zuluz denied the whole thing.

    Let's call a spade ♠️ a spade. Shaka Zulu was an angry and vengeful man and both him and his mother Queen Nandi, acted out in vengence. I don't blame them for metering out justice accordingly, but to kill babies born in the year of his mother's death is outright insane. I have no respect for Shaka Zulu's murderous and blood thirsty ways.
