Glad to have found your vids! we recently moved into a house with mystery trees, we realized they were "guava" trees, then found there are at least four different types of guavas in our yard (the previous folks must have been fans!) so now I'm learning about these guys and who knew there were so many different kinds and that I'd have SO many in los angeles? Our pineapple and strawberry guava trees just finished their "raining" of fruit, and now yellow and green ones are emerging!
thanks for making this video i really wanted to try guava and now its my favorite fruit :)
cool
For the first time purchased strawberry guava, the seeds were too hard though, did not know I could eat the skin, so this is helpful. Thank you.
For someone who has never encountered a particular fruit before, such videos can be quite helpful. Some fruits you can eat the skin, others you can't...some the seeds are fine, others not so much... So even though this video might be a bit simplistic and uninteresting to someone who has encountered such fruit before, it can also be VERY helpful to those of us who have no friggin idea what we are doing.
How wonderful it must be to eat fresh guava right there in paradise... Hawaii! Thank you for taking me there, if only for two minutes.
Thanks for the video! I kind of just bought a guava at the supermarket out of impulse and then I realized I had no idea what to do with it. :D peace
I pureed the guava and put it through a sieve to remove the seeds, tastes great! Thanks
my favorite way to eat a guava it I like to go to the asian market and buy guava juice and just drink it, it taste really good... buy
Somebody gave us guava fruit. I didn't know what to do with it. So thanks for the video. I'll have to try it now.
It is delicious. I prefer the red flesh variety.
I just gat some guavas today and i did not know anything about them . Really like the way they taste . Even tried it with the skin . Thanks

When I lived back in the Philippines I had a MASSIVE guava tree, and would eat it everyday, i miss those days :')
I have two young guava plants now, a White Thai and a Pink Guava. The White Thai is supposed to be seedless, but the flowers all seem to fall off. They Pink Guava has six guavas growing on it now. I finally got around to putting a few videos of it on my channel. We used to have a guava tree when I was a kid and I am so looking to taste the one in my yard now. Thanks for sharing your take on how to actually eat the plant.
Here i come, in 2021, and needed exactly this video. So thankful
nice
AWESOME. I thought it was odd that I had no clue how to eat these, but I actually had never seen one before. I found them today and got four (picking them by a guide I found online...and they look like your strawberry ones). I look forward to enjoying these. I am always looking for new things to try. Thanks a ton!
awesome
I had so many guavas on my tree this year I couldn't eat or share them fast enough. Made delicious guava jam out of the really ripe ones. It was so delicious. My kids loved it on their toast in the morning. I saved some seeds and now have guavas sprouting in my pots. Did the some with avocados and now have huge trees giving me delicious fruit! Never grafted any of them.
Grow your own food folks!!!!! You can do it. Plant edible landacaping.
Sounds great!
I've tasted guava flavored foods but bought some and didn't know how to eat it. Thanks for the video! Thorough and concise!
we make jam with it and it's wonderful
I also dehydrate it, and make powdered drinks that are shelf stable
Why do some people feel the need to be so mean? I for one appreciated this video because I've never eaten a guava and need to know how. So THANK YOU for this video and keep making them. I also watch your vid a while ago about how how eat dragon fruit, which I also appreciated.
Peace
Thanks so much for sharing that, Mike. I can't wait to eat my first guava and thanks for the smile!
Thanks. Whenever I encounter a fruit or vegetable that I am unfamiliar with, I consult your videos. I've learned a lot, and expanded the foods that I eat.
Relaxing video! I just went out and plucked some fresh guavas😎
mahalo
Thanks for the video! Bought some guava for the first time although they are tiny, not large apple guavas. Delish!
thank you for taking the time to do this. I was unsure on what was/was not edible.
I LOVE GUAVA... if you ever get a chance try "fruit chat masala" with it ..you can get it from Indian stores
Looks very tasty,my next have to have fruit, thanx
Your video inspired me to get a guava. I did. Tasted amazing. Forgot about the inner soft part until I bit into it
OH MANN AMAZING THANK YOU
Thank you for this video I just bought guavas for the first time.
They may if they've never had one and are not sure whether to peel it, cook it or when is ripe, folk that are familiar with them don't have to watch it. I've had gauva before but like the livelife videos, he does them well.
Eating one now. I had to look it first to make sure I ate it correctly. 🥰
😋
I love guavas. The one you had was very huge. They normally sell these tiny ones here in California. I love the aromatic smell they put off in a room, and the taste is like Heaven.
Does that taste like strawberry and pineapple?
@@NerdNest0 This is the green variety guava. It's white inside. It has a taste of its own. When ripe it has a very strong, aromatic scent. I recommend eating it when it's still slight firm but not hard. Once the skin turns yellow color it becomes super ripe. The guava you are referring to is the pink variety. It is pink color inside. It has a sweet, strawberry like flavor.
Just bought a Guava plant. Looking forward to my first harvest. Thanks for sharing.
hope it goes well...peace
Great vid, I can't manage to find good guavas like i had in my childhood when I visited the caribean, here in Norway I find grennish / yelloish guavas that I don't like, they are fiberish and whatever how ripe they are I find them distgusting (and FULL of seeds).
thank you for this!!! my kids actually tried it and two out of three really enjoyed it!!
+Julie C awesome
i am an indian (asian)...we get guava very easily in d market ...i eat it raw with some pinch of salt and some time along with red pepper powder..it is really delicious fruit ..i m lovin it but the problem is if the seeds are tought den it may stuck in ur teeth...:)
thanks brah.....i wasn't sure....if the seeds were edible...and i have a very tricky digestive system......really thanks...whew....i know apple seeds are a no-no! but not sure about this one.....mahalo have an awesome day.
Ok,,, I'll try out your style of eating gauva,, AMAZING!
Thanx,That looks tasty
@mettanc great fiber...nice to hear from you, Michael, glad all is well...peace
@isanyonebored thanks for the comment...peace
@nebraskafrankcourtny crunchy like apple, but more tart...and sweet
Thank you
You're welcome
Great video. I was lucky enough to find guava in a grocery store here once but I couldn't figure out how how to tell if it ws ripe and by the time I did it went all mouldy.
I do. When you've grown up only eating things that come from a box or a can, fresh food can be intimidating. Do you eat it raw? Cook it? Peel it? Can you eat the seeds? There's no shame in not knowing something, but there's plenty of shame in being a jerk to someone who doesn't know something.
OMG SOOOO GOOD
Nice vid! Too bad the location is so crappy. Haha....I kid. Wow....beautiful spot!
Thanks for this dude love it! I was not sure if seeds were ok in smoothies :)
recommend scooping out the seeds before making it into a smoothie.
Thank you!
Thanks! Living in Hawaii? What a life. That's my dream.
+AnotherAlly mine too
Maaan! Do I love your videos?! You make everything so simple. I became a fan when, I found the dragon fruit video. The more natural and less corporate, I live my life - the more comfortable and freeing it becomes. Thumbs up- keep doing Good things!

@raiseup151z i will give that a try...thanks
nice, + you look like Joe Pantoliano
Thanks for sharing with us. Have a wonderful time on your trip.
Aloha my friend!
thanks man you made it really easy!
OMG!!!!!!! ive stumbled across these huge hairy guavas, theyre rare in the region rom where im from. i saw someone else eat it and then white juices flowed out. instead of many seeds, it had a singular big one.
Bradlee Gopaul cool
Eat to many, and your digestive system kicks your ass! haha - still love it, shame it doesn't grow here in Eastern NC
Just moved to Oahu for grad school. Any tips on where to get some good fruit here? The only constant source of lilikoi has been north shore. Haven't tried too many guavas yet, but just got some today.
Thank you but how do you eat the small ones?
Thanks a lot for the info!
Looks delicious. I wanna go shopping and get some now :P
@usertube1101 moldy is not good...gotta eat em before they get too soft...
do you have an asian store near you? that's where we get them in the states. they probably sell them at whole foods too just more expensive
im wondering if the guava fruit tastes anything simular to the rockstar energy drink that i like (tropical guava flavour) aka the purple can. I can not drink sugar so much so im thinking of buying these fruits somehow, can you get them in the uk, if so where?, anyone who can answer this comment please do contact me, i will be grateful thanks!, looks good
@TheVeganHere i am back from the islands, but the aloha spirit remains...peace
Thanks, good video
LOVE POG!
YUM! THANKS!
Be careful you don't break a tooth on one of those seeds.
The hell, you can’t break your tooth
I think that is a good point! Just ate my 1st guava ever. Did not eat the seeds as I didn't know they were eatable.
Huh???
Their seeds are soft asf
@@mohammedsalama1989 mine were rock hard. Maybe pineapple guava
I got my first guava this weekend. It looks colorful with a pinkish-red color. It is rock hard and tasteless however. I bought it ( over $2.00 something a little pricey) at a local grocer here in Rhode Island and we're approaching the middle of Feb. 2016. So either their source for these things suck or its just way out of season. Should they be soft to tough when ripe?
+steelgila i used to live in ri...never had guava there...maybe not fresh or ripe
i wish i lived in hawaii!!!
jesuslover mlkjh
Thank you for answering all my questions about the consumption of this intriguing fruit. I can't wait to put your pointers to some good guava-devouring use.
Although I must say, I'm disappointed by the lack of FALCONS in this video.
i bought some guava..... probably imported from mexico. its small and green ..... and lots of hard seeds. it smells wonderful but its a pain to eat
@AngryLlamaz maby you didnt get a ripe one some are soft and good some are sour and hard
Hi, what variety is the orange guava at the end of the video?
@G0NEGREEN love guava...peace
@k0d14k1 they taste good...
on my country brazil guavas are so common but you need to remove the black stuff on the top
The guava I recently bought had seeds in it that were very hard and would hurt your teeth. Is this an over ripe guava. It looked just ripe to me with a nice yellow color; these were lemon sized guava.
Collin Hubbard not over ripe. the seeds are just hard.
Hello how do I want some seeds of this fruit knowing that in our country in Algeria there is this fruit I want to plant it for you all my appreciation and respect I hope to find your wish
there's so much that it's impossible to find them to buy here
I actually went here because I was not sure I ate mine correctly. The seeds are rock-hard.. or was mine just not ripe enough?
best fruit!! but i cant get a pink guava here
Tried to eat a baby guava too like that little one you hold too many seeds it was like I broke a tooth 😂
not good
Mine tasted like cherry, strawberry, black berry all in one
just ignore the idiots...they are clueless....and thanks for your support...peace
Does this fruit come from the graviola tree...Can you make sour sop soup with this fruit?
you can just call it Guapple instead of apple guava.
okay...peace
Guapple sounds like guapo . That means handsome in Spanish
How u doin sir great video, serious question tho is guava really good for diarrhea
yup BUT... for most persons, you need to consume a large amount and for others, just a little will do. But, it can definitely cause constipation.
Wow, that nitrate guava is huge.
you make no sense
Several weeks ago I started a new way to eat. One of my goals is to try something new each week. I went to a fruit market and bought my first ever Quava! It will be staple in my morning smoothies!
my guava`s have very hard seeds , are they ok to eat ?
The reason the guava is hard to eat is because it has millions of the seeds that are very hard. Not chewable. The seeds are definitely not edible. That is why I looked up this video, but you seem to have no problem eating the seeds. But then the guava that I have is of a much smaller kind, so I guess that's what makes the difference.
I never see these in the supermarkets.
nice one :)
theres alot here in trinidad
+Andre Deosaran awesome
+livelife365 You surely are living your life sir
+Andre Deosaran I LOVE Trinidad spent a week there when I was training with BWIA lovely people lovely island
so how do you eat guava?
How do you eat the small ones? Whole like the large?
Yes, can confirm. Very delicious! Seeds are very hard; don't chew them with your molars... just mush them around and swallow with the nice soft fruit
Simon don't chew the seeds ..just swallow
Why am I here again?.......I like guava it’s good
Hes absolutely from revere ma
