Tim.
Cheers Hans, on this occasion the driver didn't allow me place a camera on his locomotive, it was raining hard anyway, so placing the camera at the rear of the train protected by the varanda roof was probably the best option. I'm glad you enjoyed it. 🍺 Tim.
A truly wonderful journey thanks Tim, I really love the rear view camera it's a different perceptive i think you see more of the scenery as your moving away from it please give us more of the same & i think others would agree with me, Looking fwd to part 2 cheers Bob.🦘🐨
Hello Bob, it is easier to film from the back of the train with the added advantage of less problems with suicidal insects and rain as was the case on this trip. Not all drivers allow a camera on their locomotive, fortunately a good number are OK with it. I enjoy rear facing views as much as forward facing versions, although the viewing figures suggest forward facing are the most popular. I'm glad you the trip and I'm working on Part 2 this week. Cheers. Tim.
Thank you for your video! That reminds me of revisiting the Weißeritztalahn. When I visited it the first time, it was prior to the desctruction of parts of the tracks by a devastating flood in 2002. Oh, and by the way: The river name is not “Weiberitz” but “Weißeritz” or “Weisseritz” (for all of you that are not familiar with that awkward little German ß character. 😉)
Hi, I'm glad you enjoyed the ride, I saw the damage done to the Swiss and Austrian railways in 2005, especially to the railways around Interlaken, my rail tour became a coach tour as there were so many washouts. I don't have that "ß" on my keyboard, I copy and paste names from Google maps, clearly I slipped up on this occasion, thanks for putting me right, although its a bit late to change the video, I can change the video description.

It was a nice ride, although it was a shame I couldn't gain permission to place the camera on the locomotive, to be honest it was raining hard so placing the camera at the back under the veranda roof was probably the best option on the day. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I thought I'd get away with it this time, the next video is already uploaded without Wales, I'll try to remember to include Wales in the one after that, because when all said and done it does have a world beating narrow gauge railway scene, rivalling even that of East Germany.
@@Timsvideochannel1 Thank you my dear brother. It's always a pleasure. And I'm glad our enjoyment can also give you some enjoyment as well. Peace be with you.
Oh that's a shame, it was raining hard the whole time, I don't think the result would have been worth watching and the driver wasn't keen on me mounting a camera on his locomotive. On a brighter note, whilst there are still a couple of Guard's View videos to upload, I have far more Driver's Eye versions waiting to be edited and uploaded as time allows. I do rely on the driver's giving me permission to mount a camera, whilst most are OK with it, some say "No" because it's against company rules or contravenes health and safety guide lines.
@@Timsvideochannel1 I was certain that was the case. I think I’ve seen most all of your videos, some of them repeatedly! I guess some of the adventure is lost for me with the trailing view. Maybe just peculiar to me. 🤷🏼♂️
Hey Tim, How are you doing? I have a question for you. While looking out the back, which I like second best, I noticed about every half KM or so I would see a jug of water. What's that for? If it's for fires it doesn't look like much water. Can you explain the roadway signs that tell the driver to??? P over P is a whistle, but what does L, E, H. Sometimes a double L or E ??? I was a locomotive engineer for 30+ years in the US, and I started on Diesel Mechanical then went to Steam. After that I ran every diesel electric you can think of right up to 5th generation locos. State of the art now a days. They can now monitor the locomotives performance while it's running down the road through one of the many radio frequencies they have. They can call you on the radio and say, "We think you have a sticking brake on axle number 422, please make a 10 lb. reduction and then release it. We'll watch you by the next detector." Or they could tell you that," your third engine is not running right, please isolate it and shut it down at the first chance you get." You make some great videos. Keep up the good work. I love going around Europe with you to some very interesting places. '
I love narrow gauge railway’s anyway, but it’s hard to find the ones with breathtaking scenery. This one is one of the best I’ve seen in a while
There is something special about narrow gauge railways and this one does pass through some pretty scenery. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Burned the place to the ground
… Smoke on the water, a fire in the sky

… They burned down the gambling house
It died with an awful sound
Funky Claude was running in and out
He was pulling kids out the ground now

Find another place
Swiss time was running out
It seemed that we would lose the race
… Smoke on the water, a fire in the sky

… Burn it down

It was empty, cold and bare
The Rolling truck Stones thing just outside
Huh, making our music there now

We made a place to sweat
No matter what we get out of this
I know, I know we'll never forget
… Smoke on the water, a fire in the sky
Smoke on the water
