Toyota's initial six-speed automatic transmission, the A761E, holds the title of the world's lightest in its class at 85 kg when wet. Present in Toyota/Lexus models from 2004 onward, it's an upgraded version of the A750E found in various Toyota models. Key modifications include the integration of a C4 clutch and F4 sprag in the C1 clutch drum assembly, limiting clutch-to-clutch shifting between the 5th and 6th gears. Governed by the Electronically Controlled Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i), the transmission's computer employs electronic controls to gradually adjust hydraulic pressure, ensuring smoother shifts. Moreover, ECT-i can adapt to wear and learn from driving patterns, responding to engine input conditions. - Авто/Мото

I see some death oil in the transmission
Do you think these are more reliable or the 8 speed that came after?
For performance applications I definitely prefer these
In a regular commuter car it’s probably a toss up
I just cant understand how you put it all back without error...
Someone has to do it ⚙️
@@iptperformancetrans in how many years you can learn that ?
@@bakastrong4381 It takes a long time and you never stop learning
I started doing this in 1987
@@iptperformancetrans m'y gosh... crazyyy
there is a workshop manual
I have a Lexus is350 2008 with 208000 miles the guy I got it from took care of it used amsoil any chance of it making it to 300000k ?
I’m a mechanic, not a psychic, however, I can tell you that I only recommend using real Toyota WS in these boxes⚙️
@@iptperformancetrans thanks for the advice sir
Dude you gotta use genuine atf fluid, its what these transmissions were built to use. Run away from that guy and never go back.
@@brucehades6323 Agree 💯
