Im half japanese half australian and i relate so much to all of this, even the random switches between japanese and english 😂 so glad i found your channel!
I'm a halfie too^^ half Korean and mexican :/ it's so tiring when someone doesn't know how to ask what's your ethnicity, so instead they'll ask oh where are you from, and I'll be like america, and they'll be like ohh but uhh where's your parents from? it is like an interrogation process honestly xD
@CeGeeCe It could be worse. You could be a white Generimerican who has to spend $59 on Black Friday sale to buy an AncestryDNA kit to do a damn DNA test to even KNOW what countries your ancestors originally came from, haha, since you literally have no idea. >.> Not that I would do that, of course... All joking aside, take it as a compliment. A lot of white people do ask the awkward question, in part because they find it very fascinating to think that there are people who even KNOW this shit, since a lot of us don't, lol. (Well, there are multiple intentions possible for asking, but for myself, I would only ask out of a harmless curiosity.) Like, most white people can sort of infer an ethnicity based upon their surname; if a dude's family name ends in -ski, it's pretty safe to assume his people were originally from somewhere in Eastern Europe. But a lot of the time...that's about it. I know I speak for a lot of people when I say that I find it kind of amazing to think that someone has such a clear, linear connection with an extra-national heritage, since it's something that a lot of us aren't really fortunate enough to be able to have. Especially when you factor in things like people's names becoming Americanized over the generations (Schmidt turns into Smith, Boiardi turns into Boyardee, etc). It's shocking how often people take DNA tests and find out that their whole self-image was completely wrong, lol. They thought they were German and they're actually mostly Scottish, for example. People who are 50% one thing and 50% another thing are actually super "purebred" compared to most people, haha. Take pride in your strong sense of identity because a lot of people don't have it.
When you're half and know al least two languages, and keep changing language crazy. I'm not half, but being a threelanguage I do it all the time ahahaah
lol I'm more like 1/3 (Hawaiian, Japanese mother and Haitian father), but I'm glad this video just so happened to appear in my suggested list c: Lately I've been feeling out of place moreso than usual and its nice to come across other multiracial or biracial people. Its hard being accepted in solely one group when you're always been told that you're not enough of this or that :L
Regarding skirts, its a tad bit easier to handle winter in Japan since Uniqlo Heat tech (which is inexpensive and works well) isn't too hard to find. The same goes for summer with the long sleeves. There are long sleeves, jackets, and tank tops designed to prevent overheating and deodorize the body effectively (Airism).
I love how you guys go back and forth with Japanese and English! I’m half Japanese as well and this inspires me to make more content about it on RUclips!
the hugging thing reminds me of the exchabge student we currently have from japan. my friends and i befriended him and we knew japanese people didnt rlly hug so we didnt hug him so that he wouldnt be uncomfortable but one day when we greeted eachother, he hugged us and it was honestly so refreshing to see him actually express physical affection.
Was searching for "Tokyo Urban" videos on RUclips and this vid came up lol. Was surprised how fun it was to watch though. You both are really cut talkers, liked the pacing as well. Did you do any color grading while editing it? ALso did you use any lighting too? Thanks^^ Keep up the videos
I have roughly 5 nationalities which are Japanese, Cambodian, Filipino and Chinese (and some Spanish and Vietnamese which I don't really count!) I've been to many schools and A LOT of people try to guess what I am, like Malaysian, Indonesian and even Polynesian. I'm kinda fluent in Japanese but starting to forget a few words. I've never met any of my Japanese relatives though..
I’m half japanese and and quarter British/australian but はりカイロはアメリカにも売ってるよ!:) Over here they are called heating pads and you can get them at like any local Japanese store. Actually I’m not really sure about the rest of the US but I️ live in Southern California and we have a huge Japanese community so maybe it’s unique to here?!
I’m half Filipino and half Japanese, but I look Japanese, although people here mistook me as a Korean. When I speak Bisaya, they ask us whether we are half . Also, my sibling and I switch speaking from Japanese, English to Bisaya xD Some people here also say to me that I’m lucky bcuz I’m half Japanese but nah lol
The government forces you to take the Japanese last name if you're half even if your dad isn't Japanese. So you have two last names. You have your regular dad's last name outside of Japan and you go by your Japanese last name in Japan. At least officially
Hahahha, if I'll ever meet a hafu, I'll pretty much as ask the same question, it doesn't matter if theyre full japanese or half japanese, I'll ask millions and trillions of question, btw Steph u and your friend are so pretty 💕💕💕💕💕
Halo Steph.. Nice to watching your video.. I have a question for you.. I hope you'll answer it.. Which one do you like more? America or Japan or Korea or Indonesia? Thank you 😊
Dear Steph, Nice video. I feel like I want to get to know more about Ayesha. She is pretty and Japanese. I wish I could meet her somehow :) I am a European Hafu Muslim with Pakistani roots. I have Japanese friends in Tokyo, all of them nice and cultured people. If possible then post more Japanese Hafu Muslim interviews. It will be interesting to know how the life in Japan is for Hafu/indigenous Japanese Muslims. Regards.
I'm assuming some of the half kids with Japanese surnames probably don't have the dad around, or it'd make sense to take his last name. Sexpats and all that are rampant all over Asia. x_x
IM HALF PAKISTANI AND HALF JAPANESE AND I LIVE IN JAPAN!!! I CAN RELATE SO MUCH WITH BOTH OF U GUYS
Im half japanese half australian and i relate so much to all of this, even the random switches between japanese and english 😂 so glad i found your channel!
OH MY GODS! FINALLY! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!
CeGeeCe I'm a halfie too I'm half Japanese and half Irish
CeGeeCe What is the :/ for? Have some pride. You are honored enough to be of Mexican descent but obviously not worthy of it.
J Mont no that face was just because I'm annoyed by people asking that's why I put it before it's so tiring
@CeGeeCe

That hugging situation is just..
-screams internally-
When you're half and know al least two languages, and keep changing language crazy. I'm not half, but being a threelanguage I do it all the time ahahaah
And then you're friends think you're just showing off when really its just a bad habit haha
✧猫Dasha✧ Exactly!

That's not how math works, you're half Japanese, half Haitian, just born in Hawaii lol
