    One good thing about Adventures with Purpose is once they are involved with a case, its not forgotten, whether they find someone or not. If they go search and find nothing, they will leave But if they get new information on the case, they will return. They are a very determined group of people. Ive been following Jared since he started and thats the way he's always been, just like all the other people that work with AWP.
    They recently solved another case in Lakeland, Fl. They had searched everywhere they thought the person would be, based on info they had, without results and were about to move on to the next case. The Sheriff's Dept gave them a piece of info that they did not have. They followed it up and solved the case. It was a great joint effort on behalf of the Sheriff's Dept. and AWP to get results.

      What blew my mind about that case is that the car was sitting in 18 inches of water. They didn’t even have to dive on it!

      Jan's case was wild. To be found in a new pond, just 18in of water from the surface. Seems she had driven down the dirt road and driven into the pond. She had pre-dementia and couldn't see at night & didn't have her glasses. Poor lady. So glad her family was able to find out what kinda happened to her and have her now. That was the last location AWP planned on searching too. The diver who went in was literally standing on the car. Had anyone went swimming in that pond I'm sure she would had been found sooner.

    • @Thing1DadaThing2Kiki

      @@arbitraryname7273 I'm sure bc the car was green like the water. Those ppl never used the pond apparently, I guess with it being Florida the neighborhood kids never went swimming in there. Plus her going into the pond before the homes were built too. That was a sad case. Her husband of 30yrs divorcing her then getting someone else pregnant & then losing her wallet. My heart breaks for her. She must of been so upset.

      @@VHM2018 I think it was more than 18". I think it was from the top of the car to the surface of the water was 18". The kid was actually standing on the roof of the vehicle. But it was definitely crazy. If I were a kid I would be playing in there and potentially found it.

    A number of decades-old missing persons cases have been solved in recent years simply by searching nearby bodies of water. People have spent decades wondering what happened to their loved ones, only to find out (assuming they were still alive when the news broke) that they were right under their noses the whole time.

      Yes it is nice to have closure on missing loved ones.. However there is a dark side to Jarred.... He is very forceful and repetitive on searching private property ponds!!! A lot of folks that say no are not on you tube for you to watch.. They don't need to be paid because YOU TUBE pays them from subs and viewers like you and I. I was watching them from the start it was just Jarred, Nug came later.. They looked for hidden things we don't see and cars even rare ones.. Every video I've watched so far that involves private land, they're usually very careful to film themselves stating they're going to ask the property owner for access, and will even film the conversation with the property owner if they're agreeable to being on camera.
      I can recall on one instance they were denied, since the property owner didn't want to be publicly associated with the case, and had a false sense that law enforcement (who had already searched their pond) was the beat all to end all on water searches.
      And BTW, what's wrong with them being compensated by RUclips?
      Do you think fuel, food, insurance, scuba gear, camera gear, recovery gear, vehicle maintenance, expenses from their home lives, ETC, ETC, ETC are all free to them?

      Most police do have dive teams, but, there has to be proof or a definite direction pointing to underwater before they are mobilised. Otherwise it’s a waste of resources. Law enforcement just like the rest of emergency services are not well funded. AWP offers their services for free because they are operating off of “guessing”.

      @bjrnegillarsen1380 2 года назад +1

      Most places the police have access to a dive team, but they can't call them in without concrete evidence or tips for economic reasons. there is also the fact that the police have to deal with a lot of limitations and red tape a group like AWP does not have to deal with

    • @bobh6728
      @bobh6728 2 года назад +4

      The police are restricted by a lot of things; budget, training, personnel, and jurisdiction.
      If a person from County A goes missing and they may be in County B, who is going to search? County A can’t. County B doesn’t want to expend resources just based on a hunch from another area. AWP doesn’t have those limitations.
      Also, personally I want law enforcement first of all to protect me and others, and get criminals off of the streets. Let experts on finding people in vehicles in water, like AWP, do this work and be supported voluntarily.
      When it gets to the point where it is going to be a recovery and not a rescue and no evidence of a crime, it of necessity is going be lower priority to law enforcement. This is where others, like AWP, fishermen with sonar, etc can accomplish more because of the massive amount of time that can be dedicated to it at no cost to the family or community. The recent recovery by AWP in the retention pond illustrates this. At least three boats in the water, AWP, Nug, Adam Brown, Depths of History for 2 full days. With law enforcement and support personnel, that would amount to months of manpower to achieve a 15% success rate or over a year of manpower for one recovery. How many crimes could be prevented or solved with that?
      I am so glad that these groups are able to do this and bring at least one answer to a grieving family and I am willing and have supported this effort.

    Y’all should watch their videos and see just how poorly they are often treated by law enforcement! Some of the cops act like they are coming to “steal a prize” from them. ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT should take notes and realize how necessary it is to have a dive team, dive equipment, and a small boat with sonar. So many more people would be recovered! AWP should be hired by the government and should train law enforcement officials on how to properly search and recover a missing person and vehicle from the water. 20 people, some cases cold for YEARS, all in just a few years. AMAZING WORK AWP CREW!!!!

      The only one that gave them an issue with that one for Nickolas Allen. All the other law enforcement seems to be happy for the help. The sheriff in this case was so happy that they were available to help.

      You have no idea how much this would cost. Our local fire and ambulance is volunteer and fight to get updated equipment that's not specialized like this. Then there is the training. Ongoing training that takes time and money. These guys do important work and not every law enforcement agency is like that. But remember there are laws and regulations and privacy issues. AWP has learned a lot through each search. Each situation is different. Even the guys have said they don't like to get involved if there is criminal activity. There's more happening than you know.

    Gosh I remember watching him when he dived in his local waters and was cleaning up trash (can's / junk) out of the rivers/lakes he went into then evolving when they'd find cars.. Remember back then PD would be upset with them for taking these cars outta the water then it went to "searching" for missing and the now it's where they are finding many missing ppl helping families "know" where their loved ones were... I'm glad More and more Police Departments accept and appreciate the help... The great thing is these guys don't have the same rules PD does so they are able to do more searching.. Thank AWP for what you are doing to help these families.. and thanks to all PD's who accept their help..

    • @chorlesteajones6794
      @chorlesteajones6794 2 года назад +2

      Exactly! AWP is only limited to if it's a private lake/pond and if they get permission. Now that they've had so many success stories and document everything, more private property owners are willing to let them search. It's the ones that don't that always make me wonder if there is something they are hiding. Police on the other hand, they have to have the equipment and the time and training to do it. It always amazes me at their reactions to Jared showing them how he finds the vehicles. They have that look of "Wow! If only we had people that knew how to do this!"

    I remember watching one of their videos from a few years back where they found a 16 year old boy who committed suicide, who was a fan of their channel and the kids mom said "He knew if anyone was gonna find him it'd be AWP" and the police from that area were extremely hostile and got a lot of backlash for how they treated the AWP crew and the family, who had told the police to check the river and they never did and lied about having done it.

    I've watched Adventures with Purpose from the very beginning when it was just Jarod and Sam (Samtheadventureman). There really is no price that anyone could put on the peace of mind that Jarod and all his helpers give to these families. It isn't just Jarod (although the $$$ all goes to him). To give these parents, children, friends and all family members who have been searching for years & years for their loved ones the answers of what happened. Well , it truly is priceless. God bless them.
