He must be the only player from the 08/09 season still playing for the same club as back then (although I know he's joined United again from Leicester only recently). Are there any other players from this era still playing in the PL? I know Ashley Young is at Everton now at 38 years old, but I can't think of any others.
@@liamjohnson7887 Ah, good call! Yes, he was at Villa at this point (I know he scored against United for Newcastle two seasons before this one). Keep forgetting he's at Brighton now. I still don't think there's anyone from that PL era other than Evans who's back playing for his boyhood club, but I may be wrong.
Teams did this back in the day as well. Also what do you expect lesser teams to do for them to win? Play a style that doesn’t suit them and get smashed 4/5-0?
Oh please, you lot have been singing from the same hymn sheet for decades now. There have been plenty of occasions when we've not got decisions. In the last few years, there have been plenty of decisions for and against us. Liverpool, City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs have more than their fair share of luck too. The difference back then is that United could actually play football really well, as opposed to today.
Definitely a big game because it was Hiddink's first game and 3rd (Villa) vs 4th (Chelsea). Villa were so comfortably on track for top 4 until this match, being 7 points ahead of Arsenal in 5th (themselves coming towards the end of a run of only 5 wins in 15 and in the midst of 4 consecutive games without scoring). This was the start of a 9 game run of not winning for Villa - they didn't win until May.
Please upload more😢 so nostalgic
Best period of the PL era
Rest In Peace Motty!
Awesome. Keep these coming if you have more. Cheers. The mid 00s was the best era of Premier League.
Ðàñìèĺ😂I love
Classic Howard Webb performance in the Man Utd Blackburn game, there.
That Villa team is one of the best to not qualify for the UCL in Prem history
to think 14 and a half years later Johnny Evans would be back playing for us and be scoring another disallowed goal from a corner. Mad.

@@Nightopian1982 as far as longest serving current players go, Coleman at Everton springs to mind, but I'm not sure if he was playing that far back.

Love this! Great work uploading these! Keep them coming from this era of Barclays : D

Back when teams didn't sit all back with 10 men behind the ball and attackers actually had space to move and try things. God I miss this.

My 10th birthday let’s go
Unfashionable to say but I think people forget Agbonlahor could PLAY
@Ben Jones - Can you upload more ASAP please?
Watching this PL era as a young teen was the best thing for me back then…I don’t watch football that much nowadays
Same - don't even bother watching MOTD. I watch highlights onRUclips for the most part.

5th Feb? The same weekend United lost their first league game of that season and Newcastle came from 4-0 down against Arsenal 😂

Ahh the good old days where Man United would get away with absolute murder. 😂🙄

25:27 how is that not a penalty?! VAR has been a disaster for Man U!

Good old Mike Phelan. Saying the media do are what they do even back then.
Alfonso Alves might not have scored today but I'm sure he will bop in 20 a season for Middlesbrough when he settles
How did you get through copyright restrictions? I have a few episodes and they're all copyright resticted as soon as they're upped.
I think it's tough from 2009 onwards - I think it's how old before they let it go and almost see it as an advertisement for themselves perhaps?

Wow united really did get all the big decisions at old trafford
There's literally a goal chalked off for fuck all reason in the first half.

Not an alex scott to be seen
Portsmouth game is exactly why we need VAR - two wrong decisions given against them leading to goals - goals change games.
That Man United game here is a big middle finger to the people saying Howard Webb was Man United's 12th player.
Except for the fact that he completely missed Ronaldo kicking out about 30 seconds before his dive, get a grip.
look at the garbage in the league then: Stoke,Boro,Wigan,Bolton,Stoke,Pompey,WBA... jesus this league was poor then
Great Chelsea team
