Great video, very clear and concise. It would be worth mentioning about ISO and if you fix it or allow Auto ISO. I would assume you leave the ISO in Auto mode and fix the shutter speed?
Excellent vlog as usual nd filters seem like I minefield very informative I've seen you can get an adjustable nd filter I think its skyreet do one but think the freewell all day is the one to get
So many different ones! I say just keep it simple, get the basic pack, learn them and always more to choose once mastered. 😊 I use the standard nd filters the most

There is a lot of information in this video, but for me, ND filters are for controlling shutter speed and motion blur within the video. Not glare or reflections or anything like that.
Do you recommend the all-day pack for photography as well or is there another pack that you would recommend just strictly for photography not for video.

I ordered the Freewell Bright Day ND/PL, CPL Filters 6 Pack and Freewell Light Pollution Reduction (LPR). I am still not sure if I need the normal ND (without the PL) though?
Would you happen to know to repair motor stiffness on the mini 3 pro? I'm having a stiffness issue on my front right motor im afraid the motor might seize mid flight causing it to plummet to its demise lol I don't want to use my dji care for this issue I feel like there's an easy fix to this but I don't know how, this is my very first drone and I'm not too familiar with it? Any advice?
Problem is with these.... how are you meant to keep the exposer at 0.0 when the light is always changing? Be it turning into the sun or tilting down so the horizon is out of shot? When you're not facing the sky everything becomes super under exposed.
I've bought the megapack Freewell ND filters Last month. (You might remember) I absolutely love it and my footage boosted in quality even on auto settings i still use sometimes. But also, I indeed was massively fixated to get my m.m exactly on 0.0. This kinda frustrated me because I was switching filters all the time. My batteries drained from landing and take off and it took away my pleasure of flying. This video was exactly what I needed. Thank you! Less focus on m.m. mire fun in flying and taking photos and videos.
I use Freewell filters too. I don't get too fixed on the 180° rule and I tend to under expose a little, -0.3 or -0.7. As a live in Portugal with brighter days I tend to have the ND64 or the ND64PL on the camera most of the times. The F1.7 aperture is making hard to get the same long exposure photos as I do with my Mini1 with the ND1000, even with the ND2000 on the Mini3 Pro.
To use an ND filter, do you have to use manual settings? I totally do not understand shutter speeds and all that stuff. I’ve tried so hard but always end up getting completely confused 😂
Basically if you film at 4K30 you can lower the shutter speed to double the frame rate number, ie 60. So shutter 1/60. The the ideal. You can just throw a nd filter on tho and keep it in auto whilst you learn and this will get better results than none

I know this is completely unrelated to ND filters but I really need your help! I just shot the first video with my DJI Mini 3 Pro today and when I played the videos back they had what appeared to be either GPS parameters or telemetry displayed across the entire screen. This makes the videos unusable. Is there some kind of setting turned on that I'm unaware of or something? I've never seen this with any of my other before, including my Mavic Air 2. I'd really appreciate some help with figuring out how to get rid of this and I thought I'd turn to you for some help. Thanks in advance, Eric

I'm mainly interested in longtime exposure photos, so first I was a bit confused about the all day pack (going from 4-1000 not including 128, 256 or 512). I found out there is another pack including 128, 256, 512 and 2000. Do you think for photography it would be enough to go with just the ladder, or would you recommend to get both?
Yeah DMP, I’m going to respectfully disagree. Wide-angle lens can be as big an upgrade as ND filters. I have the freewell kit that came with wide and an anamorphic plus a selection of ND’s to fit. I fly/shoot landscapes and the visual difference is remarkable. The downside is cost/non interchangeable filters.

I have the Freewell PL pack for my Mini 2. Bit of a nightmare to get them on, since it's really a hacked on afterthought on that drone, but I'm still trying to learn
The mini 2 filters certainly are more fiddly to put on, mini 3 ones just clip in place. Yes I would rather increase shutter the speed slightly and keep the iso low to get the best quality. At night this wouldn’t be the case and you would have to increase the iso too.
That filter that he showed is polarized in a specific way. So if you turn it to to the dot facing left then that will be for filming horizontal video. The mini 3 Pro can rotate to film vertical video so you want to turn the little dot to the v so it's polarized correctly for vertical video.

Hey man, yesterday I went out for shooting some clips with the mini 3 pro. The histogram was perfectly balanced and i shot in manual exposure (iso 100-200, 1/120, 4k60) and i experienced a hell lot of noise in my clips. They are pretty much unusable. Hello Ryan! Yes you do need NDs for photography just like having a DSLR. If you need to blur water or want to record light trails with your drone, NDs is the answer. You can even use a ND 1000 or 2000 for hyperlapse in bright daylight. Another useful filter is the polariser for removing glare from water or foliage 😉
Hi Darren, I was getting some sunset footage and using the NDPL 64 because it looked really nice on the RC but when I viewed the footage later on the PC there were 3 green dots at the bottom of the frame, not a disaster and I know it was probably the wrong filter but just wondered how you get round this. I live in Spain and get some great sunsets over the salt lakes.
I just use nd filter and auto, the changing clouds makes the video and over exposures. I keeo changing manually hahaha... nope i use auto exposure and use CPL and UV ti reduce filters

no need for filters, just pop onto auto and the shutter and expo will be sorted for you, then you can concentrate on being creative, which after all is what counts. re 'motion blur' as you'll probably be flying high it wont make any difference to your footage, and remember to get 'motion blur' you need some motion.
Wrong , soon as you hit auto the shutter speed will be crazy high so the footage doesn’t look as good. It’s not all about motion blur it’s about having a lower shutter speed. Auto is ok but I’m about teaching how to improve and get better quality
@@DMProductions all good chum but if you are looking for great footage of a professional standard you wouldnt be looking at the mini set of drones, but one with control over aperture etc. I understand what youre saying, and for most here im sure, if they can justify the cost then filters may help, but its not going to improve must, if anything if you dont have creativity. keep up the good work.
@@theDRONEguytv absolutely mate. The mavic 3 with adjustable aperture is a huge upgrade but you can get some really good video quality even with the mini 3 pro. 👍
@@DMProductions agree but it takes a fare bit of forethought and to some extent expertise. I used to work within the BBC as studio and outdoor cameraman and presenter and technology has made things easier but given people the wrong idea as most think every shoot will be TV quality

You can remove de .srt file that it generates, or you can turn off the subtitles in: Settings > Camera > Advanced Camera Settings > Video Subtitles

The one thing I still wanna know is, I upload my videos on IG and some claim 4K footage is to much for IG, so should I film is 720p or 1080p ?
Shoot in 4K and export in 1080
And what about ISO should i leave it at auto?
yes you could do but you can also use iso 100 for best results

Disagree with polarisation, only suitable for the direction you are filming at that moment in time, if you move you will need to adjust!
They are linear. So if set horizontally and you only move in the horizontal axis it will not change.
That’s not true , they have a dot on so fixed in place when moving horizontal

You don’t need NDs for photos tbh but I also take my photos with nds on and love the results without things being too overexposed or sharp

Try using a lesser strength nd for sunsets, I normally use max nd16 for sunset - see how you get on 😊
