Wrinkles are part of the reason linen is so cool in the summer. I wore a long sleeve linen shirt on a two hour bike ride in the country with temperature near 90 F and humidity around 70%. The shirt carried the moisture away and was dry when I finished the ride. As well as giving me sun protection on my arms. Now retired but when I taught physical education I wore linen as well as linen -cotton blends. When I go out for the evening in the summer I will wear a silk weight Tee with and open button linen over shirt. with the cuffs turned up for a casual look.. I love linen slacks as well.

Very good in depth discussion of linen shirt. I was thinking of getting some but was unsure if I should. I want a shirt that is flexible to wear in at least 3 seasons not just hot weather. Maybe cotton linen combo?
Thank you. Linen shirts are really only good in the summer. You can wear them in spring and fall, but they are so breathable you’ll probably want something warmer. A lightweight Oxford shirt or nice thin-smooth cotton might be better for spring, summer, and fall. Then the regular Oxford for fall, winter, and spring.
Linens seem a bit see through. Should I wear an undershirt to hide my dark chest hair? Not sure if I can wear a white linen shirt for this reason. I want one though.

Yes, they are a relaxed look that fit summer vibes! There is nothing as breezy and airy as linen for the summer.

A tropical wool or linen blend waistcoat solves the negatives. And wide roomy fit also is the fit to go with linen.

I'm a stylist and you should rock the white shirt. Embrace the chest hair, be a man. You'll feel your best going for it
Embrace the wrinkles - where it oversized in casual settings - 👍 reserve the Oxford for a more buttoned up look that can transition into casual

I wash my linen shirts in the shower, cold water. Very easy and they drip dry in an hour.

You mean wrinkle? Yes, it does pretty easily, but because of its texture, it doesn’t look too bad.
