      That sounds plausible. When the young bull(?) elephant became aware the man on the left was staring/looking at him(?) its head went up & ears went out - a warning/aggression posture I believe. And 'staring man was the 1st whacked. Probably the best thing to have done would have been to quietly get up & walk to the other side of the table when the elephant walked in.

    To clarify for everyone that has commented, there were no peanuts, and nobody threw anything to feed the elephant. It was a seed pod that fell from the tree and that is what the elephant had already been eating. Secondly, you are not supposed to run from wild elephants, you are told by the guides to sit as still as possible. The same thing happened minutes before and the elephant walked on with no issues. This was a young bull and they can be unpredictable. We were on a photographic safari thats SUPPORTS wild animals and African tourism and conservation. Thank you all for viewing.

    • @twaharfaraj9833

      Shane Wolf yah sit still don't flip a finger on a table n whisper, that is what provoked that beautiful young bull. Yet it was gentle Giant didn't mean trouble, or that guide could have been next. From Tanzania here, sadly we have lost a lot of Elephants from poachers.

    • @koekenzopie5919
      @koekenzopie5919 7 лет назад +6

      If it were any good guide, he wouldn't have let it happen a first time, let alone a 2nd time. You really escaped death here. I have been on safari also but the guide always made sure there was someone with a big gun nearby making sure no wild animals would come close. I have been in about the same situation in Kenya only our guides made sure the elephant could't come close.

      Gentle? Sure, for a 9,000 pound animal I guess you could label that as “gentle”. However, it was clearly a form of aggression and intent to harm. It just wanted to ruin dinner? An elephant is intelligent but not intelligent enough to distinguish was dinner is and how ruining it will cause stress to them.
      What happened here is the young inexperienced bull walked up thinking the coast was clear only to be startled by humans. Did it’s thing to back them up and then went about it’s day.

    • @poobusgaming6730
      @poobusgaming6730 Год назад +9

      @@Jay_Force_One you clearly have near zero knowledge on elephant behavior so I'll keep this as simple as possible. If the elephant was displaying a full act of aggression it would be more obvious. Ears flattened to the side of the head, charging at full speed, with the intent to trample everyone at the table. There would also be much more warning as elephant aggression is usually brought on by territorial behavior, so the elephant would have done things such as vocalized, bluff charged, etc.

      Just A Regular Guy I'm not here to debate race and racism with you mate 😂.
      I will say this though, believing you're "right" in this case not only showcases your subjective, but in doing so shows that your understanding is based on a hilarious and purposeful generalisation that my existence and the existence of most of the black people I know, goes a long way to disprove.
      If you choose not to see that, or understand how generalisations work, that is your choice, but again, I didn't come to a video about an elephant charging a group of tourists to get my rocks off making racial remarks or debating racial precepts etc.
      You can continue to discuss it if you wish, that is your choice, but you will be discussing it alone, unless someone with more time to waste than I do comes along. Have a great day.

    Anyone with eyesight who's paying attention can clearly see that it was not a trunk slap, and he didn't use his trunk at all. As a bull elephant in his prime, given his tusk length, probably around thirty years old (not a teenager), he was eyeing them in the approach, and flared his ears out at the last moment, before communicating that he is powerful and strong. That was his message. It was not an attack, it was forceful communication to Men, and Men have been the elephants top predator. So in his view, Men present a serious threat. He tucked his trunk back under his chin, and used his tusks to knock them over. He didn't want to do more than that, or he would have. He was sending a message, and it came across clearly.
    Why the guys were sitting with their backs to the view, makes no sense. You would think they would've sat with their backs to the structure as the videographer did. Not the brightest guys.

    • @cacatr4495
      @cacatr4495 8 лет назад +2

      Everything was fine, you can see it in the elephant's countenance, until the man on the left turned his head to look full on at the bull elephant. Right then, the elephant's countenance took a shift. He obviously felt challenged by the man's sudden turn and foolish stare, and immediately stepped up to deal with it. That man should never have turned his head to the degree that he did. He should have followed the instructions the guides gave him, about not moving, about not staring. The bull elephant was responding TO HIM, it was THAT MAN'S ACTIONS that caused this.
