don't stare at the Elephant. that's when he started to charge when that guy was looking at the elephant. animals see it as a threat when you look at them. when you stare at them they see it as provoking.
Anyone with eyesight who's paying attention can clearly see that it was not a trunk slap, and he didn't use his trunk at all. As a bull elephant in his prime, given his tusk length, probably around thirty years old (not a teenager), he was eyeing them in the approach, and flared his ears out at the last moment, before communicating that he is powerful and strong. That was his message. It was not an attack, it was forceful communication to Men, and Men have been the elephants top predator. So in his view, Men present a serious threat. He tucked his trunk back under his chin, and used his tusks to knock them over. He didn't want to do more than that, or he would have. He was sending a message, and it came across clearly. Why the guys were sitting with their backs to the view, makes no sense. You would think they would've sat with their backs to the structure as the videographer did. Not the brightest guys.
Everything was fine, you can see it in the elephant's countenance, until the man on the left turned his head to look full on at the bull elephant. Right then, the elephant's countenance took a shift. He obviously felt challenged by the man's sudden turn and foolish stare, and immediately stepped up to deal with it. That man should never have turned his head to the degree that he did. He should have followed the instructions the guides gave him, about not moving, about not staring. The bull elephant was responding TO HIM, it was THAT MAN'S ACTIONS that caused this.
I appreciate your short explanation, the fact that you understood you were in his territory and that you respected him the whole time. Thank you for sharing. I am glad you all appeared to be okay.
It funny how lions, buffalo, hyenas, wild dogs, hippos, rhinos et al all seem to back off from an elephant when they approach, but these tourists were told not to move!? WTF!!!?? I think the elephant was thinking "Fcuking tourists. I'll teach them for not giving me the room I need!"
OMG.. The man was looking at the elephant eyes -> everyone know that it mean fight in animal world. And when the elephant make his ears wide it was warning for that man - but he was stupid and still looked directly on the elephant.
More like the elephant thought it was challenged, but didn't really take it seriously since it just nudged everyone away instead of aggressively impaling/bashing them.

The man on the left should have avoided eye contact with the elephant. I think it made him/her angry. If it was reproduction season, well, they're lucky to be alive, and it wasn't their fault, but if not, I wouldn't see why he/she would attack them
The same guy who told the other guy not to look is the one who ended up staring at the big guy which was when he decided he didn't like the way you're looking him, before that he just looked shy and awkward

+JorgeJavier Laborde Or rather no one was willing to share Peanuts with Tantor :)
Literally the worst slow motion I've ever seen.
No. The slow mo is detailed
He took the direct eye contact from the man on the left as a threat, then he pushed them outta the way…
I appreciate your short explanation, the fact that you understood you were in his territory and that you respected him the whole time. Thank you for sharing. I am glad you all appeared to be okay.
His territory? So where do humans live?
The reply is probably the stupidest person in this comment section💀💀
Guy on the left should not have stared down the elephant.
Once he flared those big ears, I immediately knew what was gonna happen next. x'D Btw, worst slow motion ever, video would've been better without it.
Was ultra slow really necessary?
Annika Andersson
That's what elephants do
I agree.. However, totally worth it for guy on the rights slow mo O face 😆
All of those animals are killed by elephants, so I wouldn't mimic them. Nor can you sprint as fast as any of them.
The funniest part is that he didn’t kill anyone, when he easily could have, he just f’ed them up.
To be fair someone back there, probably could also do it if it was harder situation
OMG.. The man was looking at the elephant eyes -> everyone know that it mean fight in animal world. And when the elephant make his ears wide it was warning for that man - but he was stupid and still looked directly on the elephant.
Same in primitive or native cultures. It's only white urban cultures, especially on Davie Street, that it means something else entirely ;-=)
More like the elephant thought it was challenged, but didn't really take it seriously since it just nudged everyone away instead of aggressively impaling/bashing them.
Get the gun!!!
The dude on the left was looking the elephant in the eye, that is a challenge and the big boy put him in his place.
In the animal world? Do you live in some sort of fable?
They are magnificent.
Save the elephants by NOT buying ivory items.
How hard can it be??
rzadan
Talk to the Chinese.
Global how about ending poverty so the people in extreme poverty that live there have a more steady economic opportunity so they don't have to hunt and poach?
Global .. I have a sweet elephant skin wallet... fuck the ivory, their leather is the best.
I buy ivory specifically to kill more elephants. They are a pest in my parish.
He is like Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory..."you are in my spot"😂😂😂
Ashim Sharma Sheldon is not funny.
뿡뿡! ^__^ the show is not fun
NOTICE HE WENT AFTER THE DUDE THAT WAS STARING AT HIM FIRST THEN HIS BUDDY BY ASSOCIATION!
This elephant is clearly in the cast of the prank. He will do anything you want for a round of applause from the ranger and a box of apples.
never stare at a wild animal
They were at HIS home, and he simply wasn't in the mood for guests!!! I love him!!!!
This is one of my dads best friend and the elephant didn't like the way monty was tapping his finger so it got angry
you got proof brat?
+isthislife2 lol one of my fav comments
where's proof?
+isthislife2 i just choked
+isthislife2 nice! pick on a little kid, yah big bully!
When the boss finds out your having a meeting without him...😂
The elephant was like "Is that.. is that lawn furniture you placed in my yard? Ya'll get the fuck outta ma home right now"
Why are they whispering? Pretty sure it can hear them.
1:00. Now why the fuck would you look a wild animal that is much stronger and bigger than you in the eye?!
The slow motion ruined the video
2:09 i love his "ooo!" face XD
dude you just sat there after an elephant punted your buddy lol
lol I love watching him carefully assess the situation and then casually make his way to you guys, whilst also making sure he has a presence. He didn't like the guy in beige from the moment he started staring at the elephant and tapping on the table. The elephant acts like he has been disrespected in some way. Fascinating.
elephant showing who the real boss of nature is.
"You guys know where that dentist niqqa is?? aight tell him im lookin for his ass"
I guess someone mentioned the elephant in the room.
The man on the left should have avoided eye contact with the elephant. I think it made him/her angry. If it was reproduction season, well, they're lucky to be alive, and it wasn't their fault, but if not, I wouldn't see why he/she would attack them
Humans:
Elephant: THIS. IS. SPARTA.
at 0:37 I think something was thrown at the elephant.
A L wrong moveeeeee
A L I think it was nanners
It was food

They are = they’re

henryvagincourt for you
Imagine one of those tusks going into your chest...this was a gentle nudge in elephant terms. Too close!
Elephant: hey humans wanna know my favorite song? I CAME IN LIKE A WRECKING BALLLL
That elephant was like: Yo nice party guys but ya’ll owe me some money
Aww...he was just playing
The same guy who told the other guy not to look is the one who ended up staring at the big guy which was when he decided he didn't like the way you're looking him, before that he just looked shy and awkward
First of all..what was that guy doing staring right into the elephant's eyes. He asked for it.
Then his friend just sits calmly as he sees his friend being attacked like he is safe? 😒. Probably thinking it's just between the elephant and his friend 😂😂😂😂.
Smh
That elephant is the drunk uncle that shows up late for thanksgiving 😂😂
Arnold Schwarzenegger voice:
Geeet ouuit my vaaay ❗❗❗
I think part of it was the fact that the guy was staring at him. Eye contact can be an aggressive move.
he looked directly into the eyes of the elephant which motivated the "attack" he should know better than to do that your not even supposed to look pit bulls in the eyes. it triggers something in the animal as if your challenging the animal.
OGRe DRAGON im not being agressive, im being dominant.
man the elephant in the room was really rude
The elephant was like: how about the lancaster house agreements that you didnt honor??
simple head nudge sent him flying. Elephants are fully aware of their strength and massive damage they can cause if they choose. to
elephants literally love breaking shit, when i was in india they used to joke that elephants would tear down a whole tree to eat one leaf
Oops.... thought you were a trophy hunter
3:15 black guy clapping lol.
Yes lol he was smiling and everything, truly hilarious
NaTasha Kiani lmao lol
Guy clapping. No need for specifics.
Elephant " Why have you not invited me ? you are enjoying without me ..Let me teach you a lesson " 😂😂
That slow motion makes me feel like jumping off the high bridge
