I think they're doing this and focusing on ambrosia because of the upcoming "life and death" pack. Like they're trying to make sure a majority of players know how to bring sims back to life when the pack causes more "accidental" deaths haha. I for one had never made ambrosia before.
@@KatelynxXxAngelsame here, only chaotic deaths I’ve had is 1) while playing the 100 baby challenge I had a teen come home from school angry but with an A, so I aged her up and she immediately died from anger 😂 and 2) I started a new game and my sim immediately proceeded to set a house on fire while trying to cook their first meal, caught on fire, and died. Fun fact I learned from that experience, you can in fact lose a game of the sims if you have no playable characters in the house (anyone younger than a teen) 😂
And remember to delete the "localthumbcache" package file after removing mods. I could not click on links at first. I deleted UI cheats, T.O.O.L and Better Build Buy and the thumbcache file and it worked. (BBB needs to be turned off before removing).
I actually was able to play it and I got through the first week rather quickly. I found it fun since I'm more of a Build and Buy mode simmer and find it difficult to get into Live mode for too long. I really, really enjoyed the first week and I'm actually excited for the challenge.
I don't know if it's still available (I downloaded it a few days ago and EA may have since removed them) but multiple users have uploaded all of the Reaper's Rewards (in the Rooms category) onto the Gallery, so you don't have to play the event to get the items!
I just wish it wasn't forced on me, I'm not logging on until I feel so much more certain, that it won't bug. And that my adhd can not get distracted from the goals for the duration of the event.
Twisted Mexi just announced that T.O.O.L and BBB are currently not compatibile with the event and may prevent it from working properly. Turn off organized debug and disable your mods when doing the challenge, everyone.

I love the idea of challenges that you can apply to your current save to add some more chaos to your gameplay. It's the way that scenarios should work. But I think that the items should be just an SDX drop for everybody to enjoy

@@random.comment oh!! I had that issue too! In the end, I tried some of the suggestions on the forums and one of them worked for my game. I repaired the game, started a new game and then to plant the flowers, I placed it on the ground (not a planter) and then planted the flower on the ground for it to work. Just remember to back up before trying it yourself though!! Hope it works out for you too! (Edit: bad spelling)

I do not like that it has a time limit. If they added it as a scenario with rewards I would absolutely love it. Sims is my way to relax. Deadlines (pun intended) makes me stressed.
Umm there is 2 whole months. Each challenge lasts a whole WEEK. If you want to be able to play it without feeling stressed… playing it on a Tuesday and then don’t touch it until a Saturday… besides you can complete them at any time within the 2 months. I think you’ll be okay..
21:40 its makes sense for them to draw players in, but i just got back into the sims this week for the first time in months and personally i didnt even keep up with sims content while i was gone so i didnt even know that there was a limited time event that i missed!
I wish this was a scenario we could do on our own time. I don't like the deadline. Sims is supposed to be something fun that's there when I need it. Now I need to be there for the sims. It might get simmers to log in on short term but this constant pressure will put off players on long term.
I think the sims team kinda forgot how most people play their game: playing it for 12 hrs straight and then not touching it again for a month. I missed out on the last rewards event too because I just don't play that much (and my laptop takes forever to even start). It doesn't help that the ea app sucks and I can't even update my game normally (I either have to "repair" it or uninstall and reinstall the whole thing).
I think they also forget that everyone plays the game differently and has different experiences and preferences and that's kind of the point of the game is to play it your way. I don't bother with occults, I don't care to summon grim reaper, if I have sims die accidental - so be it (or I just don't save), or I just rather spend my days building or just doing normal family gameplay rather than quests and scenarios. I make up my own scenarios.
This feels like they're testing the waters with a "battle pass" system, you even said the layout resembled that. I don't think they'll implement this sort of monetization into the Sims 4, but I think it spells a grim future of where EA is taking the franchise.
I'm glad the planting flowers objectives worked for her. It didn't for me. 😢 I got all the other objectives fine, but I've planted a bunch of lilies and snapdragons and it just never checks them off for me.
UI cheats wouldn't work with the event for me, but some people had no issues, if you're on PC, get UI cheats and right click those tasks and it'll complete them for you. I don't know if it would break it more or not though
@@chanelkohler9390 right clicking with UI cheats doesn't work on this thing. I tried it when it wasn't completing the task and now I logged out and logged back in and the tasks are gone lmao
I hate the time limit. I’m away from my computer and won’t have access to It for a long time. Things like this don’t make me excited for the sims, it makes me want to quit the franchise and play something else.

I like that it's long term and you can catch up giving you change to actually get it even if you have other things goinf on unlike the first log in event thing
I was honestly so excited to create a story for this event and play it only to have the tasks break repeatedly even after trying the fixes that have worked for others. Now my options are completely change my story for the event so that it doesn't break, which is the whole reason I was excited about it, or just hope for a fix for the issues and potentially miss out on the rewards. Very disappointing
this one actually had my hopes up, not only for the amt of time they've given us (and the doing quests seemed fun), but also bc it'll get saved on my acc instead of my pc but- I had so many issues 💀
I did all of week one yesterday and I loved it! I think it's so much better than last time because I missed out on a lot last time and am still soooo frustrated. Here I loved playing the tasks which were quick I thought
I can't progress past planting the flowers. I've planted the flowers many times, even made a greenhouse since one of them was out of season, and it just won't count those as finished. Very annoying.
I’ve done so many things to try and get it to work but the task “Wait for Ambrosia Society newsletter” refuses to check off for me. I get the newsletter in the mail and read it, but it never completes and I don’t get the points! I deleted all my mods and am repairing my game rn, so hopefully that helps. I want that new lot challenge! I’m playing with paranormal stuff soon for a legacy and that’ll be a HUGE help! EDIT: In the time it took me to watch this video, the removal of mods and repairing of the game helped and got me through it! Woo!
I'm disappointed their idea to fix the issue is to remove the part that is holding or last rewards for logging in. They tried blaming mods on their page too but then like a hundred people came forward that don't use mods who have the same issue as those who do. So now even though I started it in my legacy family I'm going to have to finish it elsewhere which is super friggin annoying because all those kids are already great at gardening because one of hteir mother's was a gardner/botanist/flower arranger.
Playing these events is soooo going to cost money in the future. The UI is screaming that feature that all mobile games have now where if you participate in an even you get some lame free awards but if you want the cool things you have to pay $2.99 per event or something
For the people who can't get past the gradening part of the quest I repaired the game through the EA app then planted the Lily and Snapdragon and it worked I just finished the entire quest for the week
I was able to play through it. Took a bit though. I made a special character just for this too. The gramaphone was kinda expensive but nothing was too difficult. I found I did need to have money plus starter funds to complete parts of this challenge.
I started playing the RR and moved my goth Sim next to the Goths. They came over during the Welcome Wagon and I got to hang out with them. Later on my work task was to gift a crop to someone and I found out Bella died. 😭🤣 Now my Ambrosia quest is just a mission to bring back Bella Goth 🤣🤣
im playing as mortimer’s gothrock parents to do the rewards! its been fun & tomorrow is harvestfest in game so they’ll go over to see the grandkids & fish & all that :) my rewards system has been a little finicky though & im not good at computer files stuff so hopefully no need to mess w anything to fix it..
Edit: SOLUTION TO EVENT GLITCH IN THE COMMENTS (It's long I'm not retyping it but it worked for me and I'm very happy) The fact that I immediately went to the comments and everyone's event is also broken 😭 I think I only had 2 quests left, seance table and call grim on the grim phone, but I could be wrong because idk what comes after. I entered cas to dress up my sim then my quests just went completely blank, the progress tab is still there but I can't do the quests I remember still having which sucks. I tried restarting my game then I tried restarting my pc but it did nothing. I just hope the rest of the event works because if I just miss out on the few random items at the end of the xp bar I'll be alright with that but if I miss out on the actual new items I'll be so sad, I really like those eyes
I had the same issue, and this is how I fixed it: I repaired the game (it's under "manage" in the EA app), and then completely removed my "The Sims 4" folder from the Electronics Art folder. I put it on my desktop for now, because I don't want to lose all my saves permanently. Then I opened the game and it generated a new The Sims 4 folder and it worked after that (I did have to make a new Sim). The event is SO glitchy. 😢
@@bungerimpact I've read that verifying your game files in Steam fixes the issue, but I don’t know how to do it and haven't tried it personally since I don't play Sims through Steam. It's worth a shot, though! I hope you can get it to work!
I love the amount of Emo/Punk/Goth sims have been made specifically for this challenge! All week, I've been seeing posts about "Here's my Reaper's Rewards sim!" And they're all dressed specifically like they're in a Grim fan club. I've seen a lot of use of Vampires, Realm of Magic, Werewolves, Crystal Creations, Paranormal Stuff, the Goth Galore kit, some pieces of Get Together. Right now, my sim named Raven Muse, is living on that same lot, though I've made it a Haunted House, she's somehow ended up in a relationship with Caleb Vatore, is besties with Grim, and I'm not entirely sure WHY she's trying to make ambrosia yet, but I'm considering possible storylines for that.
I did all of it besides week 6 last night. It was pretty easy which is GREAT. I won't forget the memories of this challenge and I feel a lot closer to my sim who did the challenge. I wouldn't mind more challenges like this when you can do it all in a day at the end. It reminds me of events in other games which is the only reason I log in to them daily. Also it builds anticipation for the new pack.
I'm only two months into simming, but watching you speed build do seamlessly really made my head spin. it takes me like 2 hours to build a house, and I still struggle with laying foundations. You are awesome. Thank you for your entertaining and helpful videos.
i did like reapers a bit more just bc there's actual gameplay involved, but im not sure how to feel about reward events in general. i do hope the reapers rewards will be per account rather than per save file, since i had the issue of concert tee shirts only unlocking in one save that got overwritten years ago
Been watching you for a year but finally started sims 4 after 15 years of sims 3. Your build videos hel so much but this challenge helped me learn the mechanics quickly and it’s been cool since i only have the base game. :)
watching this late... but I agree that it's annoying that you can't access this later. I work full-time, I'm a mom, and I'm getting my MBA (last semester so I'm exhausted and drowning)... so playing sims is an occasional hobby that I don't get to do often right now... I wish I could do it all in December when I'm done with school finally.
I hadn’t opened the sims since the last login event. This gave me a reason to open it and play again and I must say.. I actually had fun.. ended up playing for like 5 hours straight lol. I hope the issues a lot of people are experiencing do get resolved quickly for them! I didn’t personally have any issues I couldn’t fix by travelling in game or reloading but I’ve seen a number of issues for others rendering the event unplayable.
My FOMO is so powerful with this one because I was totally gonna do this event and made a special sim for it and everything and then it just glitched out and stopped showing the steps. 😭😭😭
so annoying that the reaper's reword are broken. I hope they fix it soon, this way you can't even get the rewords, they should have tested it better before it went online, this is really annoying
Do what she said at the end and get the stuff from a gallery room . It has been fun watching my sims ride around on the reapers bike lol . I only have the base game so that's new for me . There are a few things coded into the game that you cant get with the base game but you can get them in the gallery , like food carts , tents and market tables .

The event is really fun 😊. I like it as an introduction to the new expansion pack. It makes the waiting time more enjoyable 😅. Also, I really love the house you built for her. It's the perfect mix of dark and cozy 😅.
i love this tbh, i like experiencing parts of the game i dont usually do, and i think it gives frequent players a little more to do.. it took me like 20 min max to do the first week on my legacy so it was cool
I have been playing with vampires and during this event. Until you needed to use the sèance table. Vampires can't use it. So, I had to use another save. And this weeks rewards are done. Roll on Monday week 2.
I tried making a fresh save to do these rewards but it crashed my game twice. I don't know if they have plans fixing it but right now I can even get pass the cas menu without it crashing my game.
I’ve never played with ambrosia in the sims, I know it’s there, I vaguely know how to do it but never use it. I like it, honestly, I always play with gothic/witchy households so it fits into my story lines so well :) also befriending the grim reaper & having an easier way to summon him is so fun imo

I like this event much better than the last event. The last one was so lame. I hope they do more events like this especially when it makes sense for a dlc release. It goes along with the Life and Death expansion coming soon. I really like that.

I made an angel themed sim for the reward event bc i like the contrast of this cheerful and bright sim talking to grim who is morbid and dark. I like this event better bc it takes u through a cool item that some ppl might not have heard about. I heard of ambrosia b4 but never went out of my way to learn how to do it kinda forgetting its an actual thing. I like that its challenged/task based and u can fit it into any kind of storyline ur creating
the soul spritzler drink or something is all ready on the game i found it and made my sim drink it. It turned him into a Ghost and gave a mood Buff and the mood buff says that it lasts for 6 hours.

It's just confirmation bias in that the ones complaining in the comments are going to be those who unfortunately it's not working for. I had no issues completing and didn't even have to disable mods.
@@spiritedsamph Me too . I have a tone of mods and it was fine . I didn't think to do it on another save though . My save was meant to be Disposable but I kind of like it now . I did have the mail sim stuck at my mailbox but that might have been where I placed it .I might have had a better chance for it to work as I only have the base game and there is less to go wrong .

I’m getting really sick of the sims team releasing stuff that’s so utterly broken when it wasn’t even stuff we wanted in the first place. Not only is the whole task thing wildly flawed but it’s literally completely broken for most people 🙄
I have never made ambrosia and had no clue how to do it, so I appreciate this gameplay. I think they should do more things like this to get players to explore the game more. I have so much content from all of the DLC, that I've probably never touched or experienced like 75% of the game. (I generally build rather than play.)
I get the idea behind the event to build up hype for the upcoming pack and teach the players about ambrosia but something about having a season pass in the Sims 4 doesn't sit right with me.
I had a séance table on my lot while doing this and they gave me a task to ask the departed about ambrosia. I might have gotten a few extra points because of that and honestly it's really thoughtful of them to put extra tasks based on what you got on your lot.
Can they go back and give everyone the first event rewards to make up for their botched release and not having it tied to your account? I saved and copied over my file for it and it still didn't work :/
Right? It was free stuff anyway! I really do not care if people can get the items who missed out in the first place, heck, I'm all for it. It hurts nobody for them to just give it to everyone as an sdx or something, and given the issues with the .ini getting deleted by repairing, or console players just having no way to restore things at all, it sucks the way it is now.
@@TiaKatt I've seen some people complain that 'if they gave it to everyone, it wouldn't be fair to the people who put the effort into logging on every week!' but I really think the majority of people don't care at all and would be glad for other players to also get free content
@@wow2926 Their argument is extra silly in light of the fact that dozens of items that used to be $$pack-exclusive$$ are now base game (vending machines, industrial loft windows, and hot tubs to name a few). So why would anyone care about players getting a handful of free items? Logging in is not effort lol

So far I’m really enjoying the event. Fun fact if you have the Paranormal stuff pack one of the quests will be to use the seance table to ask the spirits about ambrosia. I think that’s pretty neat

@aranelfe9869 when I was 17 I bought ever single pack (I had a full time job and no rent) I still buy the new ones when they go on sale and all I did was talk to sims, summon the reaper, perform a seance and read the note as far as i know nothing else pack related was in it

Yesterday when my sim went to work (doctor) and the career tasks showed up, the tasks from the event disappeared and to this day I have an empty field. I reset the sim, repaired the game via EAApp and nothing. I changed the save. Still an empty field. i haven’t got any mods or cc. Has anyone had a similar experience?😢
It's clear they didn't really test it at all. It makes sense though that they should let it have a restart quest option. That could scrap all progress. And then for now, play with a sim that doesn't have a Job. I haven't started playing yet, I'm reading about all the bugs and might play for week 2.
You got me thinking actually: maybe the bug is triggered by active careers or goal events conflicting while in-game. The event broke for me the second my Sim went to their active career (home decorator) - and up to that point it had worked perfectly despite me running an absolute truckload of mods. Another player on the EA forums posted the only working solution I've seen thus far: "Delete the localthumbcache.package and move accountDataDB.package from your Sims folder to somewhere else (in case you end up wanting to put it back)." It reset the event tasks but that doesn't seem to matter, because the game still registers that I got the rewards
Yup same here, but I have cc and mods. There's a forum post on the EA website about it and I followed all the steps it said to do and the UI is still broken. Really pisses me off. They better fix it because I will riot.
I managed to complete this weeks tasks (console)! I had one bug which was kinda funny; when I completed everything for this week the whole reaper rewards UI bugged so that every letter was a w haha!

When I first saw the event I was kinda scared that I couldn't finish it in time, especially since my first two steps were to build a house, which took me 5 hours, and make a sim, which took me another 3 hours. But seeing how quickly you completed week one took that pressure off of me a bit. I just hope that some (not all) of the other weeks will take a tiny bit longer
I hate that they did this again 😭 the sims is a SANDBOX GAME! I appreciate the effort to get players to engage with specific systems, and they clearly put a lot of effort into making this cool unlock storyline. But the timed rewards system is so scummy and anti-player in a game based on creativity and customization! Your customization options are inherently limited based on whether or not you play this specific path in this specific timeframe, whether or not you want to play this way. At least it's free, unlike the even scummier early purchase rewards. These login events with timed rewards are just completely antithetical to the sims as a game! Not to mention how many players are reporting issues accessing the event in the first place!
honestly, it rly does suck, but I don't think they're going to back out of doing it and to be fair, if the event wasn't so broken, at the very least they've gave ppl more time (55 days is a good amount, I think) but we can only see how the next weeks are gonna go it's still an awful practice tho 😢
I missed the first event because I was really sick. Like, sick for the first half of the year. I really do appreciate that with this event you don’t have to log in daily or log in weekly. I can do multiple weeks in one day later on… which is going to be ideal since I can’t get to my computer right now.

I always download ambrosia from the gallery when needed. Never actually made it.

maybe also adding an immediate way to play as your sims ghost instead of game over too if they were the last old enough sim in hosuehold

it broke my game during the update whilst i was out at a work event. had to restart everything.

@@random.comment oh!! I had that issue too! In the end, I tried some of the suggestions on the forums and one of them worked for my game. I repaired the game, started a new game and then to plant the flowers, I placed it on the ground (not a planter) and then planted the flower on the ground for it to work. Just remember to back up before trying it yourself though!! Hope it works out for you too! (Edit: bad spelling)

I do not like that it has a time limit. If they added it as a scenario with rewards I would absolutely love it. Sims is my way to relax. Deadlines (pun intended) makes me stressed.

Umm there is 2 whole months. Each challenge lasts a whole WEEK. If you want to be able to play it without feeling stressed… playing it on a Tuesday and then don’t touch it until a Saturday… besides you can complete them at any time within the 2 months. I think you’ll be okay..
The last login rewards turned me off the Sims in a big way. I have enough deadlines at work, I don't want to worry about time limits with my games.

21:40 its makes sense for them to draw players in, but i just got back into the sims this week for the first time in months and personally i didnt even keep up with sims content while i was gone so i didnt even know that there was a limited time event that i missed!
I wish this was a scenario we could do on our own time. I don't like the deadline. Sims is supposed to be something fun that's there when I need it. Now I need to be there for the sims. It might get simmers to log in on short term but this constant pressure will put off players on long term.
I think the sims team kinda forgot how most people play their game: playing it for 12 hrs straight and then not touching it again for a month. I missed out on the last rewards event too because I just don't play that much (and my laptop takes forever to even start). It doesn't help that the ea app sucks and I can't even update my game normally (I either have to "repair" it or uninstall and reinstall the whole thing).
I think they also forget that everyone plays the game differently and has different experiences and preferences and that's kind of the point of the game is to play it your way. I don't bother with occults, I don't care to summon grim reaper, if I have sims die accidental - so be it (or I just don't save), or I just rather spend my days building or just doing normal family gameplay rather than quests and scenarios. I make up my own scenarios.

If you really want the previous rewards itmes, people have made rooms on the gallery with the items in them. You can just get them off the gallery.

This feels like they're testing the waters with a "battle pass" system, you even said the layout resembled that. I don't think they'll implement this sort of monetization into the Sims 4, but I think it spells a grim future of where EA is taking the franchise.
I'm glad the planting flowers objectives worked for her. It didn't for me. 😢 I got all the other objectives fine, but I've planted a bunch of lilies and snapdragons and it just never checks them off for me.

UI cheats wouldn't work with the event for me, but some people had no issues, if you're on PC, get UI cheats and right click those tasks and it'll complete them for you. I don't know if it would break it more or not though
@@chanelkohler9390 right clicking with UI cheats doesn't work on this thing. I tried it when it wasn't completing the task and now I logged out and logged back in and the tasks are gone lmao

I like that it's long term and you can catch up giving you change to actually get it even if you have other things goinf on unlike the first log in event thing
I was honestly so excited to create a story for this event and play it only to have the tasks break repeatedly even after trying the fixes that have worked for others. Now my options are completely change my story for the event so that it doesn't break, which is the whole reason I was excited about it, or just hope for a fix for the issues and potentially miss out on the rewards. Very disappointing

I can't progress past planting the flowers. I've planted the flowers many times, even made a greenhouse since one of them was out of season, and it just won't count those as finished. Very annoying.

I’ve done so many things to try and get it to work but the task “Wait for Ambrosia Society newsletter” refuses to check off for me. I get the newsletter in the mail and read it, but it never completes and I don’t get the points! I deleted all my mods and am repairing my game rn, so hopefully that helps. I want that new lot challenge! I’m playing with paranormal stuff soon for a legacy and that’ll be a HUGE help!
EDIT: In the time it took me to watch this video, the removal of mods and repairing of the game helped and got me through it! Woo!

I had to do it three times for it to finally work, honestly.
I'm disappointed their idea to fix the issue is to remove the part that is holding or last rewards for logging in. They tried blaming mods on their page too but then like a hundred people came forward that don't use mods who have the same issue as those who do. So now even though I started it in my legacy family I'm going to have to finish it elsewhere which is super friggin annoying because all those kids are already great at gardening because one of hteir mother's was a gardner/botanist/flower arranger.
I did that and it made the grim reaper event start for me, but now I have lost my items from the last reward event for logging in 😢

Playing these events is soooo going to cost money in the future. The UI is screaming that feature that all mobile games have now where if you participate in an even you get some lame free awards but if you want the cool things you have to pay $2.99 per event or something

I just finished the entire quest for the week
I was able to play through it. Took a bit though. I made a special character just for this too. The gramaphone was kinda expensive but nothing was too difficult. I found I did need to have money plus starter funds to complete parts of this challenge.
I started playing the RR and moved my goth Sim next to the Goths. They came over during the Welcome Wagon and I got to hang out with them. Later on my work task was to gift a crop to someone and I found out Bella died. 😭🤣 Now my Ambrosia quest is just a mission to bring back Bella Goth 🤣🤣

I think I only had 2 quests left, seance table and call grim on the grim phone, but I could be wrong because idk what comes after. I entered cas to dress up my sim then my quests just went completely blank, the progress tab is still there but I can't do the quests I remember still having which sucks. I tried restarting my game then I tried restarting my pc but it did nothing. I just hope the rest of the event works because if I just miss out on the few random items at the end of the xp bar I'll be alright with that but if I miss out on the actual new items I'll be so sad, I really like those eyes

I had the same issue, and this is how I fixed it: I repaired the game (it's under "manage" in the EA app), and then completely removed my "The Sims 4" folder from the Electronics Art folder. I put it on my desktop for now, because I don't want to lose all my saves permanently. Then I opened the game and it generated a new The Sims 4 folder and it worked after that (I did have to make a new Sim). The event is SO glitchy. 😢

I love the amount of Emo/Punk/Goth sims have been made specifically for this challenge! All week, I've been seeing posts about "Here's my Reaper's Rewards sim!" And they're all dressed specifically like they're in a Grim fan club. I've seen a lot of use of Vampires, Realm of Magic, Werewolves, Crystal Creations, Paranormal Stuff, the Goth Galore kit, some pieces of Get Together. Right now, my sim named Raven Muse, is living on that same lot, though I've made it a Haunted House, she's somehow ended up in a relationship with Caleb Vatore, is besties with Grim, and I'm not entirely sure WHY she's trying to make ambrosia yet, but I'm considering possible storylines for that.
I legit spent 2+ hours last night creating my Sim and decorating her house to do the Reaper’s Rewards challenge. Didn’t even get to the gameplay. 🙃

I did all of it besides week 6 last night. It was pretty easy which is GREAT. I won't forget the memories of this challenge and I feel a lot closer to my sim who did the challenge. I wouldn't mind more challenges like this when you can do it all in a day at the end. It reminds me of events in other games which is the only reason I log in to them daily. Also it builds anticipation for the new pack.
I'm a console player and after the update the Daily rewards disappeared. My legacy house still has to trash can but I can't put it in any other house

i did like reapers a bit more just bc there's actual gameplay involved, but im not sure how to feel about reward events in general. i do hope the reapers rewards will be per account rather than per save file, since i had the issue of concert tee shirts only unlocking in one save that got overwritten years ago

Been watching you for a year but finally started sims 4 after 15 years of sims 3. Your build videos hel so much but this challenge helped me learn the mechanics quickly and it’s been cool since i only have the base game. :)

watching this late... but I agree that it's annoying that you can't access this later. I work full-time, I'm a mom, and I'm getting my MBA (last semester so I'm exhausted and drowning)... so playing sims is an occasional hobby that I don't get to do often right now... I wish I could do it all in December when I'm done with school finally.
I hadn’t opened the sims since the last login event. This gave me a reason to open it and play again and I must say.. I actually had fun.. ended up playing for like 5 hours straight lol.
I hope the issues a lot of people are experiencing do get resolved quickly for them! I didn’t personally have any issues I couldn’t fix by travelling in game or reloading but I’ve seen a number of issues for others rendering the event unplayable.
My FOMO is so powerful with this one because I was totally gonna do this event and made a special sim for it and everything and then it just glitched out and stopped showing the steps. 😭😭😭
so annoying that the reaper's reword are broken. I hope they fix it soon, this way you can't even get the rewords, they should have tested it better before it went online, this is really annoying
Do what she said at the end and get the stuff from a gallery room . It has been fun watching my sims ride around on the reapers bike lol . I only have the base game so that's new for me . There are a few things coded into the game that you cant get with the base game but you can get them in the gallery , like food carts , tents and market tables .

I have been playing with vampires and during this event. Until you needed to use the sèance table. Vampires can't use it. So, I had to use another save. And this weeks rewards are done. Roll on Monday week 2.

I tried making a fresh save to do these rewards but it crashed my game twice. I don't know if they have plans fixing it but right now I can even get pass the cas menu without it crashing my game.
I’ve never played with ambrosia in the sims, I know it’s there, I vaguely know how to do it but never use it. I like it, honestly, I always play with gothic/witchy households so it fits into my story lines so well :) also befriending the grim reaper & having an easier way to summon him is so fun imo
The last special event was bugged for me and I got exactly nothing out of it. Thank you for wasting my time, EA.

I like this event much better than the last event. The last one was so lame. I hope they do more events like this especially when it makes sense for a dlc release. It goes along with the Life and Death expansion coming soon. I really like that.

I made an angel themed sim for the reward event bc i like the contrast of this cheerful and bright sim talking to grim who is morbid and dark. I like this event better bc it takes u through a cool item that some ppl might not have heard about. I heard of ambrosia b4 but never went out of my way to learn how to do it kinda forgetting its an actual thing. I like that its challenged/task based and u can fit it into any kind of storyline ur creating

the soul spritzler drink or something is all ready on the game i found it and made my sim drink it. It turned him into a Ghost and gave a mood Buff and the mood buff says that it lasts for 6 hours.

It's just confirmation bias in that the ones complaining in the comments are going to be those who unfortunately it's not working for. I had no issues completing and didn't even have to disable mods.
My quests worked, too. I know about Ambrosia but I've never made it myself so I am enjoying the process.
@@spiritedsamph Me too . I have a tone of mods and it was fine . I didn't think to do it on another save though . My save was meant to be Disposable but I kind of like it now . I did have the mail sim stuck at my mailbox but that might have been where I placed it .I might have had a better chance for it to work as I only have the base game and there is less to go wrong .

I have never made ambrosia and had no clue how to do it, so I appreciate this gameplay. I think they should do more things like this to get players to explore the game more. I have so much content from all of the DLC, that I've probably never touched or experienced like 75% of the game. (I generally build rather than play.)

I get the idea behind the event to build up hype for the upcoming pack and teach the players about ambrosia but something about having a season pass in the Sims 4 doesn't sit right with me.

I had a séance table on my lot while doing this and they gave me a task to ask the departed about ambrosia. I might have gotten a few extra points because of that and honestly it's really thoughtful of them to put extra tasks based on what you got on your lot.
Does anyone know how to OPT OUT of this?? I don't want to play and the windows keep popping open in the corner, especially when I travel to a new lot.

Right? It was free stuff anyway! I really do not care if people can get the items who missed out in the first place, heck, I'm all for it. It hurts nobody for them to just give it to everyone as an sdx or something, and given the issues with the .ini getting deleted by repairing, or console players just having no way to restore things at all, it sucks the way it is now.

So why would anyone care about players getting a handful of free items? Logging in is not effort lol

So far I’m really enjoying the event. Fun fact if you have the Paranormal stuff pack one of the quests will be to use the seance table to ask the spirits about ambrosia. I think that’s pretty neat

@aranelfe9869 when I was 17 I bought ever single pack (I had a full time job and no rent) I still buy the new ones when they go on sale and all I did was talk to sims, summon the reaper, perform a seance and read the note as far as i know nothing else pack related was in it

Yesterday when my sim went to work (doctor) and the career tasks showed up, the tasks from the event disappeared and to this day I have an empty field. I reset the sim, repaired the game via EAApp and nothing. I changed the save. Still an empty field. i haven’t got any mods or cc. Has anyone had a similar experience?😢
It's clear they didn't really test it at all. It makes sense though that they should let it have a restart quest option. That could scrap all progress. And then for now, play with a sim that doesn't have a Job.

You got me thinking actually: maybe the bug is triggered by active careers or goal events conflicting while in-game. The event broke for me the second my Sim went to their active career (home decorator) - and up to that point it had worked perfectly despite me running an absolute truckload of mods. Another player on the EA forums posted the only working solution I've seen thus far: "Delete the localthumbcache.package and move accountDataDB.package from your Sims folder to somewhere else (in case you end up wanting to put it back)." It reset the event tasks but that doesn't seem to matter, because the game still registers that I got the rewards
Yup same here, but I have cc and mods. There's a forum post on the EA website about it and I followed all the steps it said to do and the UI is still broken. Really pisses me off. They better fix it because I will riot.

I managed to complete this weeks tasks (console)! I had one bug which was kinda funny; when I completed everything for this week the whole reaper rewards UI bugged so that every letter was a w haha!

I'm one of those who lost the rewards from last time
When I first saw the event I was kinda scared that I couldn't finish it in time, especially since my first two steps were to build a house, which took me 5 hours, and make a sim, which took me another 3 hours. But seeing how quickly you completed week one took that pressure off of me a bit. I just hope that some (not all) of the other weeks will take a tiny bit longer

I appreciate the effort to get players to engage with specific systems, and they clearly put a lot of effort into making this cool unlock storyline. But the timed rewards system is so scummy and anti-player in a game based on creativity and customization! Your customization options are inherently limited based on whether or not you play this specific path in this specific timeframe, whether or not you want to play this way. At least it's free, unlike the even scummier early purchase rewards. These login events with timed rewards are just completely antithetical to the sims as a game! Not to mention how many players are reporting issues accessing the event in the first place!
honestly, it rly does suck, but I don't think they're going to back out of doing it
and to be fair, if the event wasn't so broken, at the very least they've gave ppl more time (55 days is a good amount, I think) but we can only see how the next weeks are gonna go

I missed the first event because I was really sick. Like, sick for the first half of the year. I really do appreciate that with this event you don’t have to log in daily or log in weekly. I can do multiple weeks in one day later on… which is going to be ideal since I can’t get to my computer right now.
