My friend had made reservations in 2019 for July 2020 - for his wife's 50th birthday. Disney opened up the first day of their reservation - was it July 11?! He sent me pictures. Talk about living the dream. The parks were empty and everything was a walk-on.
Yeah and sometimes you don’t really have a choice! we go often enough we don’t need to make the kids miss several days of school lessons for it and be behind just because we didn’t feel like dealing with crowds. Spring Break 2024 here we come!

@@CupcakeGrogan I went in the second half of January in 2023 and all rides where open now if one is under repair that’s a different story but also I can agree it was actually really slow me and my wife where able to ride all the rides multiple times the whole day
I remember going for Thanksgiving break, and it was perfect! Good crowds, but not too overwhelmingly packed. As someone who likes experiencing things with others, it was a blast.

We go in August a lot. It’s busy but not overly crowded. I think the oppressive heat keeps the locals away. We manage with the heat by doing one section of the park at a time. Also alternating an outdoor attraction with an indoor attraction. Leaving mid day to swim at the resort. No way would you catch me there this week. Cannot handle it.
When i was a Kid, we went during school Breaks!!! Easter, Mardi Gras, Thanksgiving. I have an Autistic Son, so we r avoiding Opening days of Restaurants/Festivals and New rides. We r planning a trip After TIANA'S Bayou adventure opens.
I’ve gone with my grandma during spring break a handful of times. It’s not as bad as the major holidays, although Flower & Garden festival adds to crowds, but there’s definitely way more kids/strollers in Magic Kingdom than Epcot!!

@@waltsofly it’s been a few years since i’ve attended at spring break but it depends on what park at what time, honestly! Think of the little kids that need naps & pool time at resorts, ya know? From memory, I’d say about a 7 on average. Plan your day according to your observations, and Genie+ reservations are very telling! Do you wanna see Pandora at night or the fireworks at Magic Kingdom or Epcot? Everything will fall into place with enough patience & pixie dust
Cheer Competitions are such torment because on Saturday the Monarail and Ferry were jam-packed, we had to go to the Resort launches. It took so long to get home.
I was there Christmas Eve 2023 it was an amazing experience I used genie plus and individual lightning lanes so I never waited in a line except to meet some characters but they were short.
Did Disneyland at Halloween last year, and I'm doing it at Disney World this year. It's close enough to my birthday that I consider it my birthday trip.
My family has been a few times, most recently during Thanksgiving of 2021. The crowds were thin. The weather was perfect! That’s our go-to time from now on.
Growing up, my family and I would go to Disney during spring break, which of course would explain why it was busy, but that’s when we went. So of course, after my wife and I got married, we went at a different time for our honeymoon, which was the end of August. Definitely recommend near the end of summer, not too busy and wait times were under a half hour for most rides!
@@jljl24 I've seen much worse. MK was pretty crazy last night but I think it is still less than pre-covid. 2018 and 19 were Insanity. In Epcot today (Christmas) and it feels pretty normal

Be happy with what you get on and prioritize which you need to. We spend a lot of time just enjoying the sights. We make sure we get the virtual queues. If you want to use lightning Lane or genie+ because you don't want to wait I don't blame you but be prepared to pay through the nose. Take advantage of earlier hours if staying on resort

The BEST time to go is the first or second week of September. Parents are less likely to pull kids out of school during the first few weeks. I have photos in front of the castle with nobody else around!
Just did this... So Disney caught on and runs the Epcot food and wine festival during this time now. It wasn't anywhere near these crowds but I thought it would be super slow.
I went on Memorial Day this year and we went to magic kingdom and the park was empty because of how hot it was pirates of the Caribbean was at a 5 minute wait time all day
We use to go over spring break with the kids to avoid too much heat only to find crowds. We thought that was normal but now we go the last week of January. Not as empty as when they first opened back up after covid but not as crowded as summer. Thanks for your time
I have been to Disney all seasons and my favorites is the first week in May and the last week in September to the first 2 weeks of October. You still are there for the Epcot festivals but lower lines because kids are still in school and college. The most I have had to wait was an hour for major rides like Flight of Passage.
What are the crowds like during the first full week of November that’s typically when NJ has their teacher convention, so I just didn’t know how much that affects crowds in Disney
I have been there for my birthday on spring break for a cruise and it was crazy! Everyone was crowding and I was so glad because we only spent a few days in the park before the cruise
Done New Years Eve and wouldn’t recommend if you’re short or have kids pre-teen or younger. On the plus side New Years Day was quite quiet till mid afternoon 😂🎉
@@Sorekneecap if you can then maybe don’t go to Magic Kingdom which is where we were and if you do don’t try staying past the first fireworks for certain. It didn’t seem too bad till about 5pm but it got to being constantly pushed around in the crowd almost shoulder to shoulder in places and being hit by bags and backpacks. Scared the short 11 year old a bit and became stressful keeping her safe. A friend went to Epcot one year and had a much better time. Watched fireworks from our hotel balcony which was good, although obviously couldn’t hear music and it depends where you are staying as to whether that works. Hope you have a great time and enjoy yourselves, remember you can always find fun somewhere at Disney.
My first time going to Disney was spring break when they still had the mask rule…it was high 80s everyday and humid as a mug- lines for every ride were no less than an hour. Miserable but for some reason I fell in love with it and I don’t know why
We’re going during Labor Day. Went around the same time last year and it was actually like a ghost town at magic kingdom and Epcot. I was lowkey shocked cause it was during food and wine festival!

We did Spring break and thank goodness for fast pass. We rode Avatar multiple times during a day when it was a 4 hour wait without fast pass. The line stretches into a different biome
I went in early December. It was great! The worst time was when my mom and I went at the end of August in 2004. The crowds weren't bad, but the heat was horrible.
I went to Disney world April 6th last year and went until the 9th and all of those days were not so busy there were a lot of people of course but it wasn’t so bad! and it was sunny ☀️

I went to Shanghai disney on the grand opening of the zootopia area, that day fast passes were not for sale. There was practically no lines!!! The longest line we waited was 8 minutes it was insane! The average wait was like 3 minutes!
As an annual pass holder who lives very close to Disney, the sad reality about the grand opening of festivals or any other opening days is that often times you have to go those days if you want a chance of getting merchandise. While Disney has gotten better with these, and has worked on more consistently getting more of its more popular items, there still items that sell out within the first couple of days. There are just so many people who buy up all the merch to sell at overinflated prices on eBay or other similar sites, and it ruins the experience for everyone. Disney hasn’t always been the best at combating this because even the only 2 items with the same SKU number (item number) per person rule was ineffective because the item numbers were different for each size. Personally, I don’t tend to buy a ton of merch items for the festivals, but I do want to check them out and if I don’t then they could be gone.
I booked my last trip to Disney for my honeymoon and our first day was on Columbus Day and I never realized it until we have long wait times at Magic Kingdom.
I wanna go over winter break but im nervous about the crowds. I went recently so im not trying to get all of the rides done, but is it still enjoyable?
Crowds can be hit or miss, but it's definitely gonna be HOT so you may want to take a break during the more crowded parts of the day anyway to get out of the sun for a bit

We went the third day of reopening I didn't care about the masks and we had the most amazing time. I also liked the 6 foot social distancing too

Avoiding spring break is hard, because different schools/regions have different schedules, so it can knock out about six weeks!

i went 2 weeks before thanksgiving and everything was perfectly priced hotels, flights, car rental etc and off course not much crowd at disney

I went almost 3 weeks ago for my birthday, during peak summer vacation dates and it wasn’t as busy or crowded.

You should have added July 4th. We were there pre-Covid. I can’t stress how CROWDED it was. Even cast members were remarking about the crowds.
I said the same, I feel like its the worst and the summer heat makes it worse but max capacity at 10am should tell you everything.
