    Georgia Tech OMSCS currently offers 4 specializations; machine learning, artificial (interactive) intelligence, computing systems, and computational perception robotics. Each of the specializations has its advantages but I am choosing to get my specialization in machine learning.
    If you are in the OMSCS program and are also getting your specialization in machine learning, leave a comment on your thoughts and favorite classes!

    Hi there, thank you for the video. Could you make a video or share some resources explaining which specialization does? :)

    Thanks for making this video. it is of much help. Can you please share with us what are the basic skills needed for each specialization?

      Glad you are enjoying the videos. I added the Excel sheet here ( github.com/chrisJ7/ComputerGuyChris ). Hope that helps. Are you in the program now too or are you just looking at it?

    Understood - the difference makes sense, thanks.
    Could you share your XL sheet for course comparison please? It would save some efforts

    These specialization courses are on top of the main degree classes right? So these 5 (or so) courses plus 10 (or so) degree courses that everyone in the OMSCS program takes?

    • @ComputerGuyChris
      @ComputerGuyChris  4 года назад +3

      No, the specialization is a required part of the degree. It's 10 classes in total. 5-6 specialization courses + 4-5 non-specialization courses for a total of 10 classes

    so early in the program - they ask you to choose. Can you define accurately when are you allowed to change your selection?

    • @ComputerGuyChris
      @ComputerGuyChris  3 года назад +1

      Thats great, I hope you are enjoying the program. I believe you are allowed to select your specialization after your first semester but I don't think it is set in stone until after you have taken enough classes that you could not complete the courses needed for a second specialization, in most cases, this would be after your 5th class.

    If someone wanted to get a job at an autonomous driving company then which specialization in OMCS would you recommend? Auto piloted cars could be under computer vision, robotics, machine learning and etc. After watching your video, I realize my definitions of these specializations may need some more refinement and how it helps me. I am thinking about going to OMCS.

      I think it really depends on what specifically you want to work on with autonomous cars. ML and AI would be great for working with the programming of the driving, computer vision would be best for building the data frame and working the the programming of the driving, etc. What I have found is the best way to know what to work on is to look at a few job descriptions for positions that you would like and see what qualifications they are looking for.
