I am 17 and I was born almost 2 years after she died. I am a HUGE Aaliyah fan! :) I literally have the cd my mom and dad bought back in 2001 hanging on the wall in my room. Visiting her grave is one of my goals I want to accomplish in life. :) I watch her interviews and she just seemed like an awesome individual. :)

I was pregnant with my 3rd child. I was heart broken to hear of Aaliyah’s passing and then a couple of weeks after, 9/11 happened. About 3 weeks or so after both her death and 9/11 we were in a car accident but nothing was out of the ordinary with the pregnancy. I had my daughter on October 25, 2001. The doctor said by the grace of God we were there because my previous C Section had ruptured during the accident and she only had to do the outer incision because the inner incision from the previous surgery ruptured. I gave my daughter two middle names, Aaliyah after an amazing and talented singer and Grace because we were alive.

I will never forget Aaliyah. I was twenty six years old, had a healthy baby boy, and married. Her song, "I Miss You" is my favorite. She was on top of her game when she left this world. But today and forever, I will always remember her contributions to the world of R & B. One day, we will meet when this life...for me, is over. Until then, rest in peace Aaliyah. I love you!

Thanks for this content I totally love Aaliyah, I was about 5-6yrs old when she passed. I still remember I was crying and everything my cousins just didn’t understand. Tho I was so young she touched me, she was my very celebrity crush and singer that I loved. I didn’t know too much about any other artist that came later and now that her music is available on streaming it feels full circle it feels like she hasn’t gone anywhere

This was so nice. I always wanted to go but with likeminded people like you did. I was in basic training at the time of her passing and I literally cried in my cot around a whole bunch of men that night thinking about her. The next chance I got to buy her new tape, I did along with her poster that I still have. She was my wife as kids would say about their favorite celebrity crushes. Aaliyah will forever be in our hearts.

I was pregnant with my daughter 7 months. Already named #Aaliyah. My daughters father was in jail, at the time. When I went to visit him,. I said to him "hey I thought of a name. He said to me NO. I'm suppose to name her, so he wrote on this piece of paper and put it up on the window glass,. It said #Aaliyah. Shes 21 yrs old now. #AALIYAH #Babygirl #1inamillion #NEVAHforgotten #lovedFOREVAHH #number1Fanfolife😔❤❤❤❤❤❤❤#ImMissingyou💯💯💯💯💯

Great video. I'm 2 years late but love this! I live 3 hours away from Ferncliff in Massachusetts. I've never visited. Like your friend, I also was 15 when she passed. I remember I was driving to school with my Mom when I heard the news on the radio. I was shocked. Been enjoying her music since I was 12 when I would hear her hits playing at our local rollerskating rink. I still remember skating and vibing to "The One I Gave My Heart To", "One In A Million", "Back & Forth", and "4 Page Letter". Man, she's so missed. My favorite female singer. I wish she hadn't made that movie Queen of the Damned, those evil movies bring curses. We need to understand we are in a spiritual war in this life. We open ourselves up to demonic spirit attacks and influences in our hearts and minds. Wish she would've only stuck to more positive roles. Also the fact that she was adamant about not boarding that plane and was forced to makes me so sad for her, her family, friends and fans 💔 God rest her soul 🕊💒

Aaliyah was an amazing woman, really sweet and kind, definitely very humble, I remember where I was at when I got the news of her death, I was at a friends house, getting my hair done, and I was absolutely shocked, and completely speechless, I felt as if my ears were deceiving me, because, this can’t be, Aaliyah died in a plane crash? That was so sad, I was always a big fan of her, I was actually him I was actually 19 myself, when she first came on the scene, I was always a big fan of her, and I always said, that if I ever had any children, and if I had a little girl, I would name her Aaliyah, well on October 10, 2016 I gave birth to a beautiful little girl and her name is Aaliyah, and she’s precious, has a sweet angelic face just like the actual singer, and she told me that she wanted to see a picture of the real Aaliyah, so I showed it to her, let her know that’s when she’s named after, Aaliyah will always be missed, and loved, and I love her music,

At 9:45. It is so uncanny to know a fan’s mother had this premonition of a crash. Especially considering the mother knew about where her daughter was going. To see Aaliyah. Thinking about her triggered a foreboding sense. Really interesting
Aaliyah herself had a dream she mentioned in a interview. I think around a month before the Bahamas trip. This is verbatim from a 2001 article: *The month before she died in a plane crash, singer Aaliyah said she had a recurring dream that she was flying away from her problems.*
_"It is dark in my favourite dream. Someone is following me. I don't know why. I'm scared,"._
_"Then, suddenly, I lift off. Far away. How do I feel? As if I am swimming in the air. Free. Nobody can reach me. Nobody can touch me. It's a wonderful feeling."_

I'm so glad I found this... thank you for sharing that special day. You've been so lucky to meet her in person.
I'm from Paris and visiting her is one of my goal. I was 11 when I found out about her passing and still remember it vividly. I was a die hard fan (still is !) and seeing people remembering Aaliyah nearly 20 years later the way you do warms my heart. She's precious, we must keep her legacy alive. 🙏❤️
Something I'd love is to meet fans from across the world and spend a day talking about her and sharing anecdotes. 😊😇

This was very beautiful 💗 I really hope I can come up north & visit Ferncliff Cemetery at some point in my life. There are several people's graves there that I want to visit & leave a flower by: Aaliyah, Malcolm X & Betty, James Baldwin.. Whenever I'm in New York or close, I'm heading straight there 🕊

Hi Robin! I am new to your channel. Thank you so much for sharing this. I always wanted to go! I just haven’t made the time to do so. With Aaliyahs’s 20th anniversary coming up, I hope her estate decides to do an event or some sort of something and if so I’d love to meet and chat about what it was like to experience her stardom during that time. When she passed I was only 9 so I didn’t get to really enjoy her as much while she was here. Have you gotten a chance to see her wax figure yet?

Amalia Nunez Welcome to my channel Amalia!!! You definitely should go visit her mausoleum if you have the chance! I hope her family does something for her 20 year anniversary too! I haven’t seen her wax figure yet. Does it really resemble her? It’s always a hit or miss with those things.

Run it with Robin thank you! I might finally take the plunge and go for her bday. And omg not yet. I wanted to go before the pandemic but scraped it. I reached out to Madame (or was it Aaliyah’s IG) to see if they’d bring her to NYC and that was suppose to be the plan but idk what happened to that. I was watching the reveal and I feel like it doesn’t look like her but then in some angles it does? It’s on my list to go though lol probably make a weekend out of it.
You also mentioned that you saw Selena (that’s another on my list cause that’s my girl!) how was that like? And did you get a chance to go to her museum too?
