    I would put the BBQ sauce in the chicken then use the vinegar to get the rest of the sauce out of the bottle. 😊
    I found a cream of bacon at my local dollar general, it took my tator tot casserole to a whole new level.

    For your bbq sauce, reserve a small portion of water to shake in the bottle to get the last of the sauce out.

      @@FreezerMeals101 I know here in the States they are not as strict as in Canada about recycling, so this would make it easier to just toss the bottle into recycling vs the garbage.

      @@FreezerMeals101 this got me thinking of an odd video, but could you do one on how you dispose of the recycle items as you go to make clean up smoother for Americans? I am presuming this is something else you ladies have perfected to ease your process too.

    I am picking out some of these recipes, but I'll have to do a little more prep and such than you guys. I don't like jarred or processed sauces, so I'll have to make my sauces first and then do the meals prep. I'm trying to cut out as much pre-made foods as much as possible. I'm collecting recipes and organizing myself for a shopping day, then prep, prep prep! I usually buy lean 3 pound ground beef chubs out here when they go on sale for about 10 bucks each and do about 100 meatballs (baked and frozen in packs of 18 (just 3 of us), burgers, meatloaf and packs of pre cooked beef. Also meals have to be low carb and low sugar as I'm a Type 2 Diabetic this past year. You guys have got me excited to freezer meal again. I did it before when I was pregnant, I was nesting and the theory was to Heat-eat-sleep. Easy meals that could just go in the oven to heat up and my hubby could make a salad to go with it. It was such a blessing, because I'd had a C-section too. Fridge freezer is getting cleaned out and it's going to be mostly freezer meals now! I just "warned" my husband that I'm going to be making a HUGE shop, will have to go into the city to Costco! Thanks from another Sharla!

      @FreezerMeals101  Год назад

      Ha! I LOVE the enthusiasm! Making the sauces from scratch will definitely add considerable time but if it's important to you, go for it! The nice part is these are totally customizable with a little bit of effort. The pay off is worth it!! You'll be so happy to see those meals in your freezer again. Thanks for watching!

    You can try using the shorter cake pans for meals that need to go in a pan. They are 9x13” but shorter in height (2”) so you don’t have all of that wasted space at the top.

    with the meals that need a jar of sauce, could I just put the meat and seasonings and whatever cut up fresh vegetables in the freezer and add the jar of sauce on the day of cooking? I have a small freezer.

    • @FreezerMeals101
      @FreezerMeals101  3 месяца назад

      Yes, you probably could do that to save space, unless it's needed as a marinade. But then, you could still add it as it's thawing and allow it to marinate. There's no "right way" for many of our recipes.

  • @jelsmommy

    Hello! How do you figure out the financials for cooking together and sharing meals? In one video you said something about not buying certain things because they were in your pantry. Does that get figured in it is it just a matter of “close enough?” IAlso, maybe it’s a USA/ Canada thing, but what you can “flat freezing,” we call “flash freezing.” Kinda cool💙

    • @FreezerMeals101
      @FreezerMeals101  3 года назад +1

      We kind of go with a "close enough" when it comes to using things from our pantries. Quite honestly, we don't even do up the receipts anymore because we had so many times where her grocery lists (Costco and Bulk Barn) were within a few dollars of mine (local grocery store) that we just stick to our system and know that it all works out in the end. But when we used to do up the math, we would take our receipts and cross off anything bought for personal use (toilet paper, snacks for our kids, etc.) and then divide up the rest.

    HAS FRESH VEGETABLES GONE OUT OF FASHION

    • @FreezerMeals101
      @FreezerMeals101  11 месяцев назад

      Of course we still eat fresh vegetables too, but for right now in our lives, the convenience of frozen vegetables (which are still healthy for you, by the way) outweigh the work of preparing fresh vegetables from scratch every day. If that is something that's really important to you, the meals that just have a protein and a marinade may be more suitable. 😊 Thanks for watching!

      Some of our recipes have all the ingredients precooked so that they can just be reheated. I especially steer towards those types when I'm making single serving freezer meals for my dad or mother-in-law so that they can just heat them in the microwave.

    I have enjoyed a few of your videos before but you lost me at the butter chicken - adding a jar of sauce to chicken pieces is a poor recipe to give.

    • @FreezerMeals101
      @FreezerMeals101  Год назад

      I'll attempt to defend it by saying butter chicken from scratch is a big process! The Costco butter chicken tastes amazing and is easy. For those that don't mind using a jar of sauce, it's great. For those that want to skip it to make it from scratch, they are welcome to it. For me, the trade off is that I get to have two meals in my freezer that I wouldn't have had if I had to make it from scratch and that works for me. ❤️ Thanks for watching!
