A cool thing about Scatter Scree and Spout is that they target an area, not a creature. This means that you don't roll a flat check to miss if an enemy is concealed or hidden from you. :)
holy I used the spell as a druid and I didn't notice it I thought only the second application is just an area spell, what it even means: you can hit 4 tiny creatures with just the basic effect
Relevant to Protect Companion: it's notable that even if you can downcast cantrips (arguable as mentioned), you set their level on cast. Protect Companion has it's effect on a granted reaction, so it basically let's you retroactively downcast the cantrip, which certainly isn't RAW or RAI.
Protect companion is great on summoners since they share HP with their Eidolon. Spending 10 HP to save 20 means that you effectively take 10 less damage.
10:43 The deafening effect is actually not that good, because the spell has the Auditory trait. If you deafen them, you can't hurt them with the cantrip for 1 minute.
If you're referring to Haunting Hymn it also has the sonic trait which means it can work even if the targets cant hear it. So maybe the spell still works on deafened creatures?

My thaumaturge always has a well sorted box with different kinds of "healing earth" in his backpack. (the box casts healing plaster whenever you open it on the earth inside it.)
You tend to underestimate cantrips that heighten 1d6 every 2 levels. Essentially the spells only fall behind 1,5 damage pr. 2 levels, which at cantrip level 9 is 6 damage. That is nothing, especially when you start to account for chance to hit - those 6 points of damage will be more like 4 point in difference. Comparing Haunting Hymn to electric arc you have to take into account that HH is already behind on damage, but it has the potentialt to hit the most targets. It makes sense to compare it to Electric arc for arcane casters, and telekinetic projectile for occult casters. Comparing to an electric Arc targeting 2 creatures - on and beyond spell level 5 you need 3 targets for haunting hymn to be better at levels where haunting hymn got its heightened bonus, before that spell level 5 you need 4 targets. At levels where it didn't heightened you need 4 targets for it to outperform electric arc. So not only does it do what it is supposed to, it actually gets better at it with levels... For occult casters it is even better because the closest comparison is telekinetic projectile. HH allways outperforms telekinetic projectile with 3 targets, and HH with 2 targets outperforms telekinetic projectile at every level it got its heightened bonus. Once again, the damage difference gradually increases at higher levels. So HH does get better at what it is supposed to do with levels, and further it does outperform its closest related cantrips at what it should outperform it at.

It's kinda weird that approximate cantrip exists, since eye for numbers does the same thing but you don't need to spent your cantrip slot on it since it's just a feat
I would allow approximate to see past ...say an illusory coin pile. Simply because thats a hyper unique situation and an opportunity to reward my players for being clever.
I would say that if Aproximate can be fooled by paint, it can surely be fooled by magic. If anyone would reasonably identify something as something else, then the spell would consider that to be the truth. As such, if someone was disguised as someone else, or there was an illusion of someone next to the real one like Mirror Image, the spell would consider them to be real.
There's no such thing as downcasting in the rules. GMs can fiat it, but casting a spell from a slot is always casting it at that level, and casting a cantrip is always heightened to the maximum level. So yes, you can't downcast. Honestly, I have no problem with GMs allowing it. But keep in mind, even if you *could* downcast this, this lets you make the choice when you use the reaction vs when you actually cast the spell (and don't know how much damage is coming in).

Good as always
When is the Gunslinger Class Guide commin up?
Wait but bursts start on corners not squares… spout’s just a 10x10
Approximate would be really flavorful on a Dhampir
I would say that if Aproximate can be fooled by paint, it can surely be fooled by magic. If anyone would reasonably identify something as something else, then the spell would consider that to be the truth. As such, if someone was disguised as someone else, or there was an illusion of someone next to the real one like Mirror Image, the spell would consider them to be real.
No. It's clearly working on what you see. So, you'd still count all of the illusionary objects.
On Healing Plaster: How you gonna disrespect Witch like that? LMAO (Nah, understandable.)
I actually want to pick up a Cantrip deck just for Bullhorn.
“Check out their entire Battle Zoo line of supplements.” Now all I can think of is P2E multivitamins.
Spout. A 5 foot burst is not 9 squares. That would be a 5 foot emanation surrounding that target square. A 5 foot burst targets a corner and hits the 4 squares around that corner.
What is approximate for when you can approximate something just by looking at it?
Nonat lives in a society confirmed
If your druid has any geomancy, how about calling him The Boulder?
It would lead to him being conflicted about hurting the small, blind girl who he is fighting.
At least until the Smiling Bandit wipes the ring with you...
2 months ago new, but yeah, so many books from paizo are making it a little hard to keep up with content.
... Society is also the skill to identify humanoids, which... are super common and all. Still, yeah, I like it as a skill feat, I'd agree.
You could count the soldiers by counting boots and dividing by 2.
What if they're pirate soldiers?
But..I Like PDF format of spells, race and archrtypes. It was cool, with good atmosphere. Not this Black Background style :L Aon good for searching on phone, but it is kinda wierd for presentation type
Society is the skill used to recall knowledge and identify humanoid creatures. So things like knowing if this Elf combatant is a swashbuckler, a rogue, a ranger, a dex-based fighter, or a monk using monastic weapons.
Good job 💎💪🏽😉
6:35 to be fair without ever having seen you in person, I had a hunch you would be loud ;)
just wanna point out that a cubic foot is a unit of volume, not area.
A 5' burst affects 8 squares. A 5 foot emanation (which is what you're describing) affects 27 squares.
Imagine combo Spout with Aquos Orb...
if i were playing PF2e my Hobgoblin magus would use Bullhorn to make himself be heared when speaking when performing (he has a kabuki actor theme).
In the right campaign, Spout might be S tier.
Algae for the algorith gods
I think I'd use Tame to give me an opportunity to play with the animals and make friends beyond the spell duration. And then I'd diabolically... be friends with all the animals in town. I wouldn't have to worry about some jerk's attack dogs, and if someone was after me, I'd have dozens of furry buddies watching my back. Also, I'd have dogs and cats and horses to play with if I get bored.
Here, have a new sub!
Why thank you, good sir!! I shall take it with gusto!
10:20 I feel a bit sarcasm here
Primer casters use TKP to launch Warhammer 40k minis at their enemies
I hope Oracle gets more utility spells with this, because they killed the Oracle in 2e and made him an almost exclusive blaster/healbot with USELESS Battle and Ancestor, and Lore
Is Boulder a stoner druid? Because I do not take punderful ideas like that for granite.
