I am 2 months late finding your youtube page. I loved your van, the best I have ever seen for me because it had enough room for 2, and equipped with all I would want. I just saw you sold it a month ago and I definitely would have wanted your baby. When I watched the van driving away I also cried with you because it was a van to fall in love with. I saw when you got gas that it was not as expensive. I will watch how you built it and see if I could accomplish that alone. I bought a tiger moth because it was cool, very basic, very light, actually a bed on wheels. I went with a few times but found I would want to be able to stay inside with rainy weather. You both checked all the boxes. I will be following you two on your future endeavors.
We are glad that you found us ☺️ Thank you for the kind words about our van, we really loved it and are glad that you did too! You are right, the van was absolutely great on gas. We probably couldn't have afforded our 50 states roadtrip in any other vehicle due to the gas cost alone. But the van also saved us so much money in other ways too, like cheaper campsites, ferry tickets, etc. It really is a great van! The Tiger Moth is a very nice camping choice too. We wish you all the best in whichever vehicle/camping set up you choose! Thank you so much for watching, we really do appreciate it! Best of luck in your van build and safe travels ❤️
@@mikeandheather So sweet of you to reply. I too wish you both a super future journey. I am saving your youtube your van was so specil. It has exactly what all I would need. You two are just so cute!
That's a really good video on an absolute fundamental. Using public facilities is obvious and you've got that plan along with Planet Fitness so that's ideal. You are clearly happy with sharing a small space when "activity is unavoidable" so that's says a lot about you both. There's a great deal of sensible advice in all your videos. All the best from the UK.
Instead of carrying an extra jug to fill the shower, we just use the blue water jug in our cabinet that stores our drinking water to fill the tank. It has a funnel attachment that we use to easily pour it into the shower. After we fill the shower we then refill the blue jug and put it back in our cabinet to drink. We also use the foldable stool to be able to the shower to fill 😀 Hope that helps! Here is the jug if you are interested in checking it out: www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-Trail-6-Gal-Water-Storage-Jug/16537207?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13=5027&adid=2222222227716537207_117755028669_12420145346&wmlspartner=wmtlabs&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=501107745824&wl4=pla-306310554666&wl5=9005489&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=local&wl12=16537207&wl13=5027&veh=sem_LIA&gclsrc=aw.ds&&adid=2222222223716537207_117755028669_12420145346&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=501107745824&wl4=pla-306310554666&wl5=9005489&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=local&wl12=16537207&veh=sem&gclid=CjwKCAjwkNOpBhBEEiwAb3MvvUWvHzMfCO6qipJe6x9gocdew6MuCsyPky3Z2kWQAD33XiBsjNiMaBoC67kQAvD_BwE
Bummer! That is the exact link we purchased the toilet through- maybe there is one similar elsewhere on the website? The toilet came with bags to use but we did also purchase a compostable version of the bags as well. We did not carry any kind of additional absorbent for inside the bag although we have seen others do so. Hope that helps! Thank you for watching, we really do appreciate it!
Any detergent or disinfectant mixed with water. If you are using a portable toilet for both urine and number 2s I would use the toilet cleaner used for cassette toilets to ensure there's no smell. I have a cassette toilet in my caravan.
You are right! We did use soap mixed with water to clean the inside. We used Dr. Bronner's Soap, which is biodegradable and multipurpose. We never had an issue with smell, but if you are concerned about that a specific toilet cleaner may be worth looking into. We would also wipe down the applicator attachment and outside of the urinal with disinfectant wipes too. Hope that helps! Thank you for watching, we really do appreciate it 😊

How hard has it been to fill the Yakima? Do you use gallon jugs and a funnel to fill it?

Says toilet no longer available on Amazon. Did you carry toilet bags with you and some kind of absorbent inside bag?

You might consider a 5 gallon pickle bucket from just about any fast food restaurant or from Home Depot.
I'm so afraid to use those funnels. I'm sure I'd fail that simple task. 😅
Trust me (Heather) the alternative is not any easier lol
Do you just wipe down urinal with Clorox wipes after emptying?

@@mikeandheather I love Dr Bronner Soaps and Australian lemon myrtle. Both smells great and multi use
My finger accidentally hit the thumbs down and not up! I fixed it though.
Too funny! No worries 😀 Technically RUclips counts both thumbs up and thumbs down as engagement but we much prefer thumbs up haha
