this is good, it makes fun of the american prison system, terrible things happen. people do something wrong, go to jail and come out worse criminals than they were when they entered. over 70% of prisoners who serve their time end up back in jail within 5 years... beyond 80% if you stretch the time out to 10-15 years. it's a serious issue.
Cesspit sid Can't act right and get exiled. People don't realize how hard it is to really go to prison though. People get arrested dozens of times before they actually get sent to prison.
So let me clear some things up for people: the term 'recidivism' is a when former criminals return to prison for a crime. And the statistics of recidivism is not due to a poor prison system, but in fact more due to the community return programs and community outreach programs. This is especially true concerning the mentally ill who are given free and daily medical and psychiatric care, and then have no where to go when they are on probation or parole, and either turn to crime out of psychosis, or return to crime to return to prison and gain back their medical care. But still I agree the justice system is at flaw when it comes to false incarceration and what not, but I just wanted to clear up some misinformation people carry.

At the moment, this is the best movie I have watched so far during this year, this is a pearl amongst so much fucking pointless waste of time bullshit movies around.
This was a great film and a definite must see; although consisting of mostly characters actors from other films and television; they all carried this move very well. Especially Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (aka Jamie Lannister from Game of Thrones), Jeffrey Donovan (aka Michael Westen, Burn Notice), and Jon Bernthal (aka Shane from Walking Dead) it’s Intense, sad and show how life change in an instant. Very powerful, and makes you think, that this could happen to me. I truly rate this film as one of all my favorites; believe me, I’ve a lot of movies; and this one is a 8.5, no check that a solid 9/10. A few friends of mine are ex-cons, and they said the prison scenes gave them anxiety and PTSD flashbacks; now that doing your homework and due diligence for realism. No special effects, just great writing and acting all around. Honestly, this film should have been nominated for several academy awards; total masterpiece.

Love the way they have portrayed this movie, Some Criminals are made in prisons. Innocent people who go to jail for someones else doing and comes out like a Criminal due to the environment in prisons.
Looks like the Lannisters did in fact win the Game of Thrones. After all, how else could their descendants have lived on. This is living proof and it's sad that they leaked it like this.
Ya this flew a little under the radar for most when it was released but if it was now people would be all over it with him the front man of the commercial like that
This movie was way way better than I expected I actually really liked it....def a breath of fresh air after all these remakes, reboots, and super hero films.
If only he had been a celeb like Nick Hogan, Katlin Jenner, Matthew Broderick, or Brandy he would have just gotten a quick slap on the wrist then been free to go on his way.
Apparently, he was distracted but that doesn't count when the car accident kills someone. In this case, he didn´t notice the red light and he es considered a murderer. I didn't do the laws. But great power comes with great responsibility, that's why the driver is responsible of whatever happened
This movie is one of the best performances of 2017, trust me. Instead of watching the trailer just watch the movie. You are gonna be amazed by the performance, music, and the movie itself.
So, let me explain something. This movie had a powerful lesson, but saying this is our prison system in a nut shell, implying what happened in this film is typical, is ignorant. I'm no armchair expert, and my experience is minimal, but I worked in a county jail for a few years before making a career change. Most jails and prisons, will separate hardened, gang affiliated inmates from your average offender, for this reason (as what is displayed in the movie). The movie did a great job in influencing your thought, but it isn't a typical scenario. In the jail I worked in, we had three main GP (general population) units for offenders. One was for your average offenders that aren't affiliated in gangs, aren't "hardened", like the main character in this movie was in the beginning. This unit had mostly DUI offenders, petty drug offenses, etc. The second GP unit was for inmates who have been in the system in a while and may not be "hardened", but they're no stranger to "jail/prison" politics. The third was for the shot callers, hardened inmates, and this unit was VERY political like how the inmates were in this movie. The point of these three levels of GP units was to prevent a normally law abiding citizen from becoming a hardened gang affiliated criminal. It put barriers in between the two. I implore you to do some research. This movie had a conveying message but I think you took it the wrong way and I think you have the wrong idea in your head of what actually happens. Most jails and prisons have classification units to prevent "soft inmates" from becoming hardened by gang affiliated inmates. Of course, it's not perfect. Nothing in society is perfect. But we are far from "fucked" and that is the wrong attitude to have. The recidivism rate in this country is too high, I agree. There is something deeply wrong in our society to allow such high incarceration rates. But what happened in this movie doesn't happen nearly as often as you think. Please be careful about how easily influenced you are by a good movie. Do actual research instead of absolving to the political message behind a movie. Thanks, take care.
Good movie but they always blow shit way out there. The rape scene was hilarious , black dude walks in the dorm and he starts crying, then he gets held down and raped. Any that would do that type of shit would be dead , but this booty bandit even had look outs..
I did 4 years in New Jersey. I met inmates who were transferred from the West coast and they told me stories that corroborate what you are saying. Some prisons do separate inmates based on how hardened they are, offense, hard or soft, and even race...which is a good thing and helps to bring the violence down. But that was not my experience in NJ. I served 4 on a 5. I was doing five years and I was always among gang members and even among lifers at one point. There was no thought given to my safety or whether I would become a worse human being. Rehabilitation was never their goal, just pain. I felt the pain and I suffered but I did not fall into their trap. I walked out alive and that was in 2002. I have not seen jail or prison bars since.
In spite of the swearing, violence, sad encounters within and outside of the prison, this is a story of love. The end of the story really gives me a sense of peace.
So your justification is that some countries are worse( I'd like to know which countries execute people for accident), SO we'll be doing the same pathetic shit!

All I see is Jaime Lannister, Frank Castle, and Michael Westen in prison.
And being hunted down by James from power hahah
Michael Westen was and is, amazing!
Perfect.
I don't see a single issue with that.
@@coolshan49 Hes name was Michael Westen and he was a spy, until one day....
This movie shows how our Prison system is so fucked up. It shows how a simple family man is turned into a hard core if I may "killer".
tell me a case where a guy went to Maximum Security prison for getting into an accident
PsychoBoyJack that's not max, I was on a level 3 yard and that damn sure ain't max. He started in a dorm. Max uses 2 man cells only
Tomato Potato have to assume you think I was guilty. Layman's terms, guilty by association. I also assume you've read transcript of my trial to have made that judgement in one fell swoop.
Putting someone who has a drug problem in the same jail as hardcore gangsters doesnt seem right.
Seth Koch not it does not. normal days in a prison its just sitting around bsing and watching tv/ going to rec.
This movie had that sicario feel
that shit went from 0 to 100 real quick
shit!!!. this was fuckin hardcore. i just finished watching it and was on edge for at least an hour after.
man this looks good as shit
it IS good as shit. top 5 movie for me
Everything to keep his family safe he never snitch or broke down
Fabersoul it was
It's hella good .must watch .just watched it on showbox lol
WATCH WATCH WATCH 5/5
If you are the fence watching this movie... WATCH IT NOW!!! One of the best films I have ever seen. Thought "Felon" was the best prison flick I had seen... but "Shot Caller" is even better!!!
The Kingslayer kicks ass!!! Aka Jamie Lannister.... and also can't believe the Beast was Bill from "MindHunter". Lol
Based on lots of true stories
caution: only watch this movie if you're able to hold your breath for 2 hours and 1 minute.
thanks for the warning dude xD
Im going to watch it now XD

At the moment, this is the best movie I have watched so far during this year, this is a pearl amongst so much fucking pointless waste of time bullshit movies around.
Das Böse check out Thumper (2017).
This was a great film and a definite must see; although consisting of mostly characters actors from other films and television; they all carried this move very well. Especially Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (aka Jamie Lannister from Game of Thrones), Jeffrey Donovan (aka Michael Westen, Burn Notice), and Jon Bernthal (aka Shane from Walking Dead) it’s
Intense, sad and show how life change in an instant.
What a fucking top movie, it would make a great series and I believe there is still open space for part 2, what you think?
yea bad, get some cartel retaliation story goin, maybe theres some fuck up with his case, where he dont get life who knows
That would be awesome
Have you kept the Ten Commandments? Have you lied or stolen? Have you used God's name in vain? He even sees your thought life. Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her has committed adultery already with her in his heart" (Matthew 5:28). Have you ever done that? Have you ever made a god to suit yourself (within your mind)? There is one God, and you have to face Him. Alone. On Judgment Day.
That's a scary thought. Imagine being found guilty of being a lying, thieving, blasphemous adulterer at heart. Please, listen to your conscience. God doesn't want you to go to Hell, but that's where you will go if you die without His forgiveness. Justice must be served. But God is rich in mercy. He became a man (in Jesus Christ) and suffered and died on the cross, taking your punishment upon Himself. We broke the Law, and Jesus paid our fine: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). Then Jesus rose from the grave and defeated death. That means you can be given everlasting life. Do what the Bible says. Repent (turn from all sin), and trust Jesus Christ alone for your eternal salvation - as you would trust a parachute to save you. Do it now; you may not have tomorrow. Pray something like this: "Dear God. I am so sorry for sinning against you. Please forgive me. From this day I will trust Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. In His Name I pray, Amen." Now read the Bible daily, and obey what you read.
so this is the prequel to Felon, right?
This film is part of a prison trilogy. "the shot caller" is the last film in the trilogy 😢
The movies are:
Felon
Snitch
The shot caller
I'm sorry Nikolaj, i can't unsee Jamie Lannister
This shit is exactly what ruined many actors careers stupid fans cant understand he's an actor not the character he plays.
@@issam5000 This only means he did an amazing job playing Jamie
@@issam5000 Youre right. David Radcliffe is probably one of the better examples.
Crispy calm down they obviously do understand, but after seeing someone play a specific role for so long it’s just name and face association
time to move on
Never would have been my sort of movie but I trust Nikolaj so ima watch it.
It's surprisingly great!
was it worth watching?
@@maritime9665 YES!!!
Great fuckin movie
One of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time 👌🏻
Love the way they have portrayed this movie, Some Criminals are made in prisons. Innocent people who go to jail for someones else doing and comes out like a Criminal due to the environment in prisons.
This Guy is such a Boss even Ghost had to pay him a visit!
Jamal Yusuf what if hes tommys uncle?
I guess after Daenerys Targaryen took the iron throne Jaimie Lannister went to a life of crime :-)
hahaha
That’s the movie that Larry Millete told the kids to watch, interesting!
Looks like the Lannisters did in fact win the Game of Thrones. After all, how else could their descendants have lived on. This is living proof and it's sad that they leaked it like this.
SAD
lSkyZzl lmao you cray 4 that one 😂😂😂
Vanz
Well considering how inbreeding works, there would be no possible way for there to be descendants.
So true he looks just like one of his ancestors who slayed the king... 😉
So Michael Weston, Jaime Lannister, and the Punisher are all locked in one prison
...they're gonna own that shit.
No.. that's Aaron Ekhart...
The Punisher? I think you mean Shane
Thats absolutely NOT Aaron Ekhart
Nic Adams Two Face is Aaron Eckhart...
Damn good film. Reminded me Blood in, Blood out and American History X. If you like prison and grittier movies, this doesn't disappoint.
U have just convinced me to buy this film
Vatos locos for life
It's probably similar to American me, which would be good
Agree completely definitely reminiscent of blood on blood out
watch felon with stephan dorf and val kilmer
James St. Patrick a.k.a. Ghost, The Punisher, Michael Westen, and Jamie Lannister in a prison movie. I'm sold.
Ya this flew a little under the radar for most when it was released but if it was now people would be all over it with him the front man of the commercial like that
xShadow Dragonx at least someone is finally acknowledging Ghost!!
This movie was way way better than I expected I actually really liked it....def a breath of fresh air after all these remakes, reboots, and super hero films.
Brian McMinn where did you watch this at? It doesn't seem to be in theaters
Paul Ortiz solarmoviez
Paul Ortiz Popcorn time HD&FHD
So he got imprisoned for causing a car accident, bit harsh ain't it?
Richie happens alot!
If only he had been a celeb like Nick Hogan, Katlin Jenner, Matthew Broderick, or Brandy he would have just gotten a quick slap on the wrist then been free to go on his way.
God bless America.
Apparently, he was distracted but that doesn't count when the car accident kills someone. In this case, he didn´t notice the red light and he es considered a murderer. I didn't do the laws. But great power comes with great responsibility, that's why the driver is responsible of whatever happened
he was probably drunk
Who's here from 'AfterPrisonShow'? Thanks Joe!

One of the best movies I’ve ever seen. “Keep putting in that work WOOD”.

Nah, If you want more with the Kingslayer, watch the movie called "Nightwatch" -Nikolaj's first movie, and a great one of that :)
Mr Bananman Try small crimes
7.2 really ? Should be atleast a 9. No cliches and it is so unpredictable.
Yep
This looks like a reversed American History X xD
This movie is one of the best performances of 2017, trust me. Instead of watching the trailer just watch the movie. You are gonna be amazed by the performance, music, and the movie itself.
THE KINGSLAYER IS THE ONE WHO KNOCKS!!!
I know right. this so reminded me of breaking bad.
I AM NEVER GOING TO PRISON IN MY LIFE NOT FOR A SEC
Kartavya Sharma LUL..my thought too
I went to prison once! I was only there for ten months on the “express ticket “ it made a believer outta me!
Like, prison made you religious?
Damisi Carter for real what the fukc do you mean? Like a believer in a higher power or a believer in the way that they'll fuck your brains out??
I meant not wanting to go to prison again. That’s a believer!
American prison system in a nutshell
AmnScottNN Dude I think he means that he done a short sentence and got raped by some of the brothers...hence his opinion.
AmnScottNN this wasn't jail moron this was prison
Lannister kills Schmidt and gets thrown into jail with Castle....I'm in
i had the exact same thought and he's being chased by Ghost
🤣🤣🤣🤣💯💯💯💯💯

if you didnt know, there is a amazing Hbo series recently called THE NIGHT OF... that its similar to this movie. its just one season
Typical American justice system.
Piyush Kumar Maske yup other countries would have probably hung the guy. Or firing squad
So your justification is that some countries are worse( I'd like to know which countries execute people for accident), SO we'll be doing the same pathetic shit!
Piyush Kumar Maske
its a film
Judging from this trolls name, they'd probably go with a village stoning rather then the firing squad. Is that what they do in .. Inda-packi-shitastan
At least we admit our problems and try to solve it!
This movie is incredible, great movie from the whole cast. Especially niko
