- Ukrainian soldiers say there's a "big difference" when using the Bureviy multiple-launch rocket system, a modernized version of the Soviet-era Uragan system. The Bureviy system now sits on a Czech-built Tatra truck, which Ukrainian soldiers say provides greater mobility and off-road capabilities.

Ukrainian losses are abysmaly high.
Various (not to name them by their ideological name) krakens, right sectors, and azov are all but erased.
Vast stockpiles of post Soviet equipment UKR had are nowhere to be seen, only gifts of their puppeteers. That says volumes about losses of equipment they endure.

If you are going to be in that crew, you'll live in that truck for weeks at a time. It's important to be comfortable.
It's easy to overlook the little things but comfort and ease of use really contribute a lot to good design.
If troops are under constrant strain and heavy cognitive load just from operating the machine, it's so much worse to do it in combat. A good weapon can be betrayed by users getting exhausted.
I've ridden in one of those trucks on the Tatra test track and off road. They are virtually unstoppable, all 8 wheels are driven. Amazing Czech tech.
Don't know much about rocket systems & artillery but all i can say is that the Czech Tatra truck looks badass 👍

Tatra is a very old Czech steel making company witch also made very good trucks & cars . They won the Paris-Dakar several times. Salute from Romania close to the Ukrainian borders.
It is. Tatra actually invented the concept that eventually became the Beetle. Ferdinand Porsche copied and refined it. Tatra sued but Hitler put a stop to that. The lawsuit was resumed after the war and was stettle in 1964 for 1,000,00 DM. Unfortunatley, Tatra stopped making cars in 1999. The other big Czech car company, Skoda has soldiered on as a part of VW.

what blows me away is the photos of HARM missiles from 2 days ago, fragments of them used against Russia, I'm wondering how tf did this happen, did we just give them to Ukraine and they rig them to fire from a truck or something? Did they fire them from modified mounts on a MIG? Is there a version of the HARM that can fire from himars we dont know about? Lots of experimenting and the future of war being written in Ukraine

You have every right to be proud of your country - The Czech Republic was the first country to provide Ukraine with Soviet-era tanks, while it also supplied artillery and infantry fighting vehicles. Both nations have similar weapons systems, allowing the Ukrainians to use the Czech armaments effectively with little training. Also the Tatra trucks are known world wide for their reliability.

At this point nobody denies that Putin is a mediocre strategist. I doubt he could have guessed any of the events that happened after the first two or three days of the invasion.
Remember that kilometric military convoy that was moving to Kiev in the first month? That sounded scary. But their logistics failed so much the convoy had to split and go back to whererever they came from.
Putin's first mistake was not knowing how corrupt and incompetent his army was.

They performed incredibly well, captured an important airfield next near the country's capital on day 1 with only 30 helicopters. They did their job. But the Ukrainians counter-attack with heavy units which had T-64 tanks. The fault of not providing them with more support to reinforce their positions lies with other parts of the military, namely leadership / planners.

I remember watching a interview a few months back and it was actually truly heartbreaking listening to a Ukraine commander saying we are fighting army with far lower range weapons and the only way they destroy Russian weapons was by drone or sneaking up to them. He was pleading for longer range weapons.

This is war. There is nothing 'fun' about using these weapons to kill, and nothing 'fun' about being targeted by Russian invaders. It does indeed look like impressive kit, but let's try and think of the families that are, and will be mourning their fathers, brothers, daughters, and other family members to this barbaric invasion. People in this area are losing everything they own as the cities are flattened. What would you do if you lost your home and parents were killed? Just a thought....

I just did some research, this was originally a Soviet system, but the Ukrainians modified it in 2020 !! Czech is where the truck comes from, the russians have no chance and using their own products against them sounds just!! Very nice to see that Ukraine is developing its military arsenal. As a Swede i am proud that Sweden has been able to contribute with AT4, NLAW, Carl-Gustav, the BONUS target-seeking artillery rounds and more, all developed by Swedish companies.
