Thank you! Yeah, when I was editing the video I couldn't believe I actually forgot to switch the nav source to VOR1. That would make a bit of a difference when trying to fly a LOC approach hahaha
If you have the ILS programmed properly, then when you change the nav source, it should come up as LOC1, and not VOR1. If when you change the nav source it comes up as VOR1 when you are trying to intercept the localized, then you need to check your FMS, and make sure that you have the proper frequencies entered into the NAV1 freq.

You nailed it! They meant to make a proper name but never got around to deciding on one so their temporary name of Working Title got stuck as the official name of the development group.
Haha yeah, it can seem pretty complicated at times. Most of the work is in actually planning the route, the rest is just trying to remember how to get the plane to do everything else for you. I do have a private pilot license but I haven’t flown in at least 5 years, ‘tis life being poor.
Great video, makes me want to fly the CJ4 more. Right now, however, I’m trying the TBM with Working Title G3000 mod, but the engine instruments and EICAS seem oversized. Have I missed a trick with installing the WT mods?
Only trick installing it is making sure you delete any previous versions. I haven’t actually used or been following the g3000 or g1000 mods much so I’m not totally sure if that’s a known bug or something else.

Hi there again Mr. Windhover. Well I installed your 6.0 in the community folder and it was working great...... Well until the last update last week and after that MFS 2020 would not work on my system. It would not run on my system like it did before the update. It would throw me out to the desktop and close half way loading it, then I kept getting errors when trying to start the sim. So I wiped my drive clean once again and reinstalled Windows 10 to the latest version 2009 and I reinstalled MFS 2020. And all is updated to the latest version. Well I tried to setup my controls the way I like them, mainly the switches for landing gear, flaps, spoilers etc. and I could not change any of my switches. 2020 for some reason will not let me change and assign switches. I know how to do this very well as I have done this many times after reinstalling the sim but this time I can't change anything. So fine I wanted to fly so I just use my mouse to do everything. So now once I installed everything to current versions, I put your plane back in the community folder like I did before the reinstall, and I loaded the plane to do a fly from KSBA to KSAN. But when I went to use the FMS, I noticed that it was version 1 just like when it first came out in Aug. I restarted the sim and still the same thing. So I decided to just fly Version 1 just so I can get some flying in and after engaging the auto pilot, things went very bad. It would not climb the VS that I set it at. It kept going to 4000fpm instead of the 2000 I set it too. I disengaged the autopilot several times and re engaged it and it would start flying like it should and then the plane would start turning off course and not follow the line. I tried every thing to make it work right but it kept doing it's own thing. So I crashed the plane because when I set the altitude to 15,000 from 9,000 Ft. the plane started diving and I would pull up on the yoke to try and climb because the VS was not working right and it just dived into overspeed. So I don't know why your plane is doing all this now. And I don't know why I can't get your 6.0 upgrade now either. I tell you guys, I'm so very disappointed on the problems this sim is having with me or my system. Every time there is an update, I have to wipe my drive clean and do a full reinstall of everything because things crash hard when I try to let Asobo update the 2020. And then when I reinstall everything, I always has some sort of issue not working right. It's never ending for me. :-( Maybe my system is not fast or good enough. Tell me what you think of my system. I'm running the Gigabyte X-99 Gaming 5P w/Intel i7 5820K, Corsair dual fan liquid cooler, 32 gig DDR4 memory, M.2 1TB C drive, 1000 watt power supply, NVidia GeForce 1080ti 12 gig DDR 5 ram and high speed Cox internet at 250mps speed. So I'm thinking maybe I should go better on my system? I'm not sure. I don't know anything about computers really. Please someone help me out with this sim. Tnx
Hmm, that’s strange. I honestly have no clue what’s going on there. Specs are fine, must be something in the game files that corrupted or something dumb with Win10.

Once they get they're independent flight planner finished and tested it will be pretty darn close. Pretty much the only thing holding it back right now is the funky flight planner Asobo is using which is, among other things, forcing a lot of limitations on flight plan management. I'm not part of the dev team so I don't really know how much progress they've made on it so far but I would suspect it is not too far away given how fast they are pushing updates.
@ Windhover.....thanks for the informative video. I had the black FMS screen issue mentioned below by another commenter too but was able to get the v.0.6.1 update to correct it. Also, any chance you can share the link or tell us where we can find the livery of the CJ4 used in this video?
So a weird thing happened. I got rnav glidepath working again in the CJ4 atleast intermittently. It works on RNAV 35 for KMKY but not on RNAV 17...... I'm on working title ver 6.1 and the latest update in MSFS.....Can you verify?
I've had similar results. Not necessarily that airport in particular but I successfully flew an RNAV approach into KUES the other day but trying another RNAV approach today it didn't do anything. It's just frustrating because it actually worked on release but Asobo somehow managed to make backwards progress on the autopilot.
Do RNAV glide paths work in this aircraft? I tried to perform one using FMS as nav source and selecting the approach mode......it flew the lateral portion perfectly but never intercepted the glidepath....
That's a known bug. I believe the fix is going to be included in the next working title update along with other erroneous EICAS messages like oxygen masks above FL420.
Does the working title not accept MSFS pre flight planning? Anytime I try to plan using the stock one (idk how to use sim brief), the FMS is blank with routes

Question does this mod remove the pulse lights? I could have sworn they used to work...🤔 Edit: Can it cruise at 45,000ft without oscillations? Its been a while since I flew the cj since release. This mod has re-established my interest in her but now I'm in love with the G3000 in the TBM
Regarding the pulse lights, they have unfortunately never worked, at least to my knowledge. However, they are looking at adding them in future updates. And yes, you can finally cruise at FL450 again without the plane porpoising like a drunk dolphin. It does oscillate a little from time to time (mostly in climbs) but it sorts itself out pretty quickly. They also fixed the fuel flow issue so FL450 actually saves fuel now on long flights :D
I'm using a 10+ year old Saitek X52 Pro. Settings wise for the controller I haven't touched anything although I really should set a deadzone because there is quite a bit of noise in its neutral position.
Make sure you have a runway selected in the DEP page. Not having a runway selected can throw things off since the computer won't know how to calculate the wind components. If you are still having trouble feel free to ask about the issue in the working title discord --> discord.com/invite/Fa6w2xK
Wish others would complain to Asobo about those annoying ground crew/tow offers...hanging around almost like intersection begging homeless people, "Hey buddy, want a tow" Will tow for food or money.

ILS didn't activate because you didn't change Nav source from FMC to VOR1. Excellent video and thoroughly enjoyed. Do some more please.

When do you believe this airplane will be study level? It is such a gorgeous bird I just love study level aircraft.

Asobo broke RNAV approaches in the CJ4 I think in update 1.8.3. That was also when they introduced the altitude hold bug and VOR course following bug.

But is the speed not controlled by the FMC? are your 250 knots manually setted by using the throttles?
The throttles are controlled manually during the entire flight; there is no autothrottle feature in the CJ4.

I installed the mod and its "working" (ITT temps are normal now) but my FMS now stays all black

What controller are you using and what settings, seems like you have good control and not fighting it??

When I press next on take off perf to go to the 2nd page to set the vr the screen isn't working help

how do you use reverse thrust on cj4?
CJ4 doesn't actually have a reverser. It only has ground spoilers and brakes ;)
