Get to know the genre-defying artist and musician
On the second episode of Nowness China’s Power of Performance series, we follow Japanese artist KOM_ I on her first “Journey to China" with the band Wednesday Campanella (水曜日のカンパネラ). Formerly the band’s lead singer, KOM_ I is part of a new generation of iconoclasts coming out of Japan. A self-described chameleon, her charismatic presence and uniquely “fluid” persona has led her to be admired and infatuated by thousands of fans.
When it comes to singing on stage, KOM_ I says: “When I am singing, I realised that I am singing and the audience under the stage. I really wanted to cherish this moment and let me experience the feeling of being alive." 2017 was a year of extraordinary significance for both the artist, as she was selected to be the first "up and “coming Japanese singer by Apple Music and on Dazed 100.

I don't understand why, but listening to KOM-I gives me a feeling of great sadness 😟
Sometimes it happens to me too, although it is probably sadness knowing that she will not make music again, or perform live, she has completely moved away from the mainstream
This video is from a few months before she left the group, although at that time there was almost no activity, her last work under the name Wednesday Campanella was "fullmoon lullaby" a collaboration with Porter Robinson, which I don't know if it was intentional but it sounds like a farewell
@@wdcmp-enjoyer Now I understand that what I perceived was suffering.....I really feel sorry for her because I believe she is a great artist and a great woman......she doesn't usually win me over with a song🙂
@@wdcmp-enjoyer I'm listening to it now.....thank you so much for all this information 🙂
