It has been a cruel season for NUFC and Eddie Howe, A season dominated by misfortune, with many injuries and the added loss of Sandro Tonali. Yes cruel is a good description. And yet Eddie Howe has proved again that He is the man to take us forward. It has been far from easy for Him and we as fans can feel He did wrong on occasions and some criticism has probably been justified. yet to still be in contention for Europe is an enormous credit to Eddie and the players who have worked their socks off in most matches to bring us to where we are. As a supporter since 1948, I can honestly say that I am delighted where The Toon are heading. I hope and trust I live long enough to once again experience the excitement I was so excited to experience In the early 1950's (3 FA cup wins ) and successes in Europe. HWTL. And a special mention for the Lasses who have done us proud. HWTL's
There are definitely some positives but the obvious mistakes have really contributed to the issues this season.
I personally don’t share your view on Eddie but hopefully they start next season well and Eddie learns from his mistakes this season,
Teams have cut through us with ease all season, before the injuries and I don’t see him adapting.
I’m delighted with where the club is heading also
Playing the same style against Palace has we did Spurs was never gunna work other than that i trust the process.
Hall was really really good

Regarding Bruno, I agree with you, he's staying. The one thing that has impressed me about Eddie Howe above all else is his insistence he gets good characters playing for him. Now people will shout "Tonali" but he's the exception plus he seems a really canny lad. The reason why Bruno is so important is his character, even above his ability. He promised Eddie he wouldn't get booked and he delivered. He steps up when we need him. Most of all, he gets us. The same with Anthony Gordon. That lad hasn't had a bad game this season.
Man Utd not beaten us since Carabao, long may that continue.
I went and watched a replay of Goldbrigde after our game he did make me chuckle with his moaning 😂
I hope we do get 6th place as it will be a massive achievement for us considering everything that has gone on, but if we don't and finish 7th do we not qualify for Europa conference league. This would still be a massive achievement.

It’s hard to bitch about the game as a whole when we turn it around in 2nd half but there are still issues with how we are approaching games. But it was a very exciting game to watch, including Sheffield united dominance in the 1st half.
Nobody better than isak in Europe at the moment..we need to keep him fit next season and we can seriously have a good season.. get a young back up striker to keep isak fresh …

Agree with everything you said regarding Eddie. We've had the worst injury crisis in the league and look where we are. I think we'll do one over on Man Utd in a few weeks. My only concern is that the majority of our remaining games are away, so we really need to get our shit together. Thanks as always Paul!
They thought it was going to be a easy game first half but Sheffield was on top form
As with most of the season our elite players mask of the glaring issues we have with systems/tactics.
The positives are at least we have these player.
Bruce relied on maxi and it feels like now we just rely on Bruno, Gordon and Isak.
Another injury too, villa have covered the 2nd lowest distance in the league. Eddie needs to have a rethink for next season

I don’t understand our First half’s anymore to be honest it’s becoming the regular and have to put that right otherwise teams will punish us but most importantly is the 3 points and manure dropping points a
Blame it on the amount of changes we have to make to the team on a regular basis due to injuries...

Cmon , that score flattered us.....of course I'm happy with the 3 points but we have to be better to beat Burnley who are likely to be relegated.
Had a bad feeling about this one,after the start I thought it was only going one way,thankfully they pulled their fingers out, good result!
To be fair - we had yet ANOTHER back line change - with Hall and Livramento starting - these changes take time to gel and it got better as the game went on...outstanding from all the guys in the end...
Thought it was gonna be another Palace type performance first half. We got quite lucky there but thankfully we were clinical enough to get the job done second half.
I understand your concern but I think
that the players are just shattered. You can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink. Many of the players are just not good enough to keep playing well above their level especially with the trials and tribulations of this season.
I think everybody has to be more understanding. We only have half or less than half of a decent squad of players. It may well be we just cant keep on raising our game above the levels we really are with a team, many of whom are either very young or who are Championship players.
p.s. class players still missing: Pope, Trippier, Botman, Joelinton, Willock, Miley and Tonali. More than half a team. Plus Wilson just coming back and Longstaff who is half fit.

That game at Old Trafford is gonna be crazy. We need to control that game. If Pope, Botman, Tonali and Joelinton could play that night, I would be 100% confident. Interesting weeks ahead.
3 wins off the same amount of wins as last season
Scraped a 1-1 draw in the first half and romped them 4-0 in the second. Never make anything simple do we?
Yes after f/h performance I thought it was not going to go well but we were lucky not to be 2:1 at h/t but we came out s/h and after 5 minutes we woke up and got a few more goals to win the game but yes there is something very wrong with the way we started but we need to wake up before start of the game and get going for me 👍👍
Totally agree Paul. It could have been 2 or 3 to Sheffield but Lewis Hall pull us out of the dodoo caused by other players mistakes twice in the first half. We need to get to the races quicker if we want Europe. Burnley will be a hard game and we will need to off from the start or they will punish us.
I took us to win 5-1 and 5-2. So I win a bottle of whisky, and a pound over for the Burnley game. C.mon.
If we manage 6th place then you have to think if we hadnt had the injuries Tonali suspension etc then surely we would have been top 4 again this season
Hopefully Schar's not out for the remaining games because we're already down to Krafth and Burn as our CBs. It did look like his mobility was affected by whatever niggle he was carrying

Hey Paul you bagged Burn for being out of position and I agreed apart from those blocks but it looks like he was covering Schar who must have been injured early but stayed on ..so I have review my opinion of Burn on the day ...but still average at times.

Burnley will be a hard game our descision making is shocking i wont be surprised if we are outclassed . Im worried about Longstaff and Burn for next season these two are not good enough for the Championship.

@@Jake97x You want him there next season ill keep him as a squad player but we wont improve if hes anywhere near the firts team Howe has changed the system to suit him and Longstaff which is why teams are playing better now or out classing us Because it.dont suit the team.

Why are you worried about Burn and longstaff starting next season!? They have played the amount they have this season because of injuries. The weren't meant to be starters thus season. Burn maybe would've have played a bit more but we are still building. They will be moved on at some point, but now support them, because when they go you will have 2 - 3 different whipping boys that don't make the grade. BTW Burn was a saving grace first half and get strays. Some players in a lose lose situation
Why does it takes us to go 2-1 up to play the way we know we can. First half was atrocious. As soon as sheff Utd went two one down there heads dropped and we got the space to play and then killed them. Happy with result but hard to evaluate the performance

That Sheffield United was so predictable recently, just like their previous game against Man United; played toe to toe, pressed extremely hard and then being exhausted, losing it all by individual mistakes and game over. Btw, we only have 4 games left; the philosophy and expectation should be changed. It doesn’t matter how to play in whether good or bad performance, the main thing for us is the 3 points at the end. If we are able to keep attacking hard and score most of them, we should be fine for 6th. Let’s forget about that first half and move on.

I believe so. They keep saying "we need to beat ManU for the 6th place to be in Europe" but aren't there like 2 Conference League places for English teams, or at least one? Of course EL is way better thzn the Conference League. :)

Regarding Bruno I Don't want to loose him But my feeling is he will be sold for the simple reason it gives us the opportunity to really kick on and improve our squad. I really disagree with you Paul footballers are very fickle if PSG come in Brunos off to Disney land

It was not a good performance honestly. We were lucky because Sheffield was poorer. But with this kind of performance how can we beat united. Specially defense and goal keeping omg😢
