I see a lot of people asking for eddies head…yet I’m sat here looking at our season as a whole. It’s still been brilliant. 🤷‍♂️ considering the injuries, considering the tonali ban, considering our squad. I still think we’ve done amazing. I’m happy with where we are and I’m confident next season we’ll be pushing for a top 4 spot.
Eddie has been out best manager since…well possibly Bobby

I think after all the injuries we would of had a great season if we get European football Eddie has done a great job considering

Empty vessels make more noise, those folk have no idea of football or they're mackems (or both)

I have seen literally - not metaphorically - no one (in person) calling for eddies head. I do know of one mackem who gets some simple pleasure from coming onto pages like this and calling him various rubbish. I know of no serious Toon fans who have called for his head. There’s been occasional frustration or lack of understanding - usually from your Monday morning quarterbacks - but nothing meaningful. Social media noise, I reckon, just doesn’t count.

I’ve only been watching futbol for a month or so but I’ve picked Newcastle as my premier team. Thank you for the work you guys do, I’m excited to see more!

Isak is not 6'1", he is just under 6'4"". Still he's only been with us for nearly 2 years 🤣
Just did a very quick count. We conceded about one goal a game before the Pope injury. We have conceded just under 2 goals a game since.

Something that you alluded to but didn’t expand on is, I reckon, incredibly important and is being over looked. While there’s a lot of focus on Bruno and Isaks performances we need to remember that they are improving and becoming better players all the time as they are getting elite level coaching from Eddie and his team. The standard of interventions being made by the toon coaches is absolutely top draw. Players will want to come to Newcastle because they know they are going to get better. If they don’t think that then they probably won’t be the type of player we”d want to sign. Anthony Gordon mentioned it recently. He spoke of a very holistic approach from Newcastle where every aspect is addressed and the best outcomes extracted from it. Very thing is focused on making the others better for the team. (Every time I think about this aspect of Newcastle I want to sue Steve Bruce for misrepresenting himself as a professional football coach. Seriously!)

Game was a bit like Southampton at home last season, shocking first half, second best by far but in the second half completely dominated them and essentially from the moment our second went in we laid siege to their goal with ease.

Alex Murphy played very well in the Benfica friendly last pre-season. He will be a mainstay for many years in a few years

Results are important at this stage of the season but big concern for me is how poorly we have played against bottom 6 teams while besting lots of top teams, is it complacency or being outfought. Do think is Pope was not injured then we would be near to ECL place.

Yeah there is no denying that Dubravka makes that defence shakey, especially as he doesn't come out sweeping like Pope does.

If we play the first half like that against Manure as bad as they are we will be 2 or 3 down at half time

Man Utd are atrocious, I'd be very disappointed if we finished below them this season.

They also are very lucky and have the league behind them, so that will at least give them a chance. Otherwise I’m with you and am hopeful we can do it

I am baffled as to how they are where they are in the league. I think we should be able to go there and put that one to bed as we are clearly the better team while having been a bit inconsistent for various different reasons.

Caught in a dilemma because the strong dislike I have for Arsenal. I don’t want Arsenal to win at Old Trafford. If we could finish above Man Utd and Arsenal don’t win the league, that is perfect.
