My idea worked! I used a hook two sizes larger for the chain stitch row, and then a smaller hook for the following rows. The chain stitch row can now stretch evenly and the finished crown will stand upright. I hope this helps you, too.
I can't begin to thank you enough for this tutorial. I'm a beginner and I couldn't have done it without your amazing instruction! My sister's cat has terminal cancer and we call her the queen. I know my sister is going to love the tiny crown I just made her cat!!! Thank you again!!!
I just made this as my first successful crochet project for my bestfriend's baby boy. He is going to be the cutest prince in his crown! Thank you so much for taking the time to make and post a tutorial.
Just made my first crown. Actually turned out!!!! I am so excited. I made it for my older sister (adult size). She always claims she is the Queen so that is why I made it for her. Hope she likes it!
I just made this gorgeous little crown, whilst at work, in about 20mins! My little man is going to a princess themed 1st bday party on the weekend so this will be a lovely little gift addition. Gorgeous! And super easy. Thanks again
I don't know the first thing about crocheting, but my 9 year-old can't get enough of it. She loved your tutorial and commented, "She has REALLY nice stitches" :)
I have been crocheting most of my life but I just recently learned how to crochet in rounds, I made this for my granddaughter for her 4th birthday and it was so easy! I did it in about 30 minutes! Thank you for your awesome instructions!
Super adorable crown & tiara!!! I made the crown to match a little dress I crocheted for my granddaughter to wear when she’s born for her going home outfit! Thanks so much for sharing your talent!!!❤❤❤
I just started teaching myself to crochet a couple weeks ago now and can't stop now lol. I made my son a beard, and my daughter a dolly, scarf and the tiara. thank you for the great vid.
I'm making my first crown now, not finished yet with the top but it's for my great granddaughter and I'm sure my granddaughter will also want a tiara once the princess crown is completed. I will be going to Michael's for some pretty beads to tightly secure into the tips and I will then send you pictures. thanks so much. I love your tutorials.
I think she's doing just fine with the length of her "annoying and distracting" nails. If those of you who are complaining are more concerned with her nails you're not paying attention to the video for the crown or tiara. I made a couple and did just fine with her tutorial lol
Thank you for this adorable tutorial. I just love it! I made a tiara for my daughter using a gold thread yarn. Started with 3 rounds of SC. Then for the tiara, I made a pekoe. Then the first point with 3DC, ch1, 3DC, adding a smooth crystal bead in to the center. The center point with 3Trb, ch 3, 3Trb, using a faceted crystal bead. Then repeating the first point and the pekoe. Wish I could share a picture. It's adorable. :)
G'day mohini kamath thank you so much ! Happy crochet ❤ Have you joined our group yet? You can share all of your bobwilson123 projects here. facebook.com/groups/338449986970915/
Just made my niece a pink crown...adorable and so easy! Thank you for this great tutorial. For me, the hardest part was making the first row of hdc. After that it was a breeze!
Love this, and I only took 2 times to get it right! 😉 The first one looked pretty good. I only messed up on the beginning of the first diamond. I'm HAPPY! 😆
Thanks for sharing this. I took the idea and modified it. I didn't watch the other tutorial about making a stretchy headband, but the menu photo looks like you use a hair rubber band in the back of the headband. I used this idea and made a stretchy tiara. My 2yr old loves it, and my 6yr old is begging for one as well.
I would make a chain of fifty or sixty depending on the size of the dolly and do four to five rows of single crochet in each stitch, or chain four to six then single crochet in each stitch for 20-30 rows. When done skip stitch strands at each end for fringes. You can also make them a lil fancier by doing two rows of puff stitches also. For my lil girls doll house I also made a lil circular rug by using the magic circle method. ;)
I am thinking that the crowns and tiaras would be really cute with beads at the tips. I haven't tried yet, but I will with my next one. I used the pico/peacock stitch to heighten the points of my first tiara.
Hi! I'm using a 5mm crochet needle and a worsted 4 pink yarn. I was wondering if there's a way to make the points taller? I'm making the crown correctly, but I'm not sure how to make the points higher. Any help would be apprieciated. Thank you for this tutorial!

I want to thank you for this video. I just made a crown for my granddaughter and her face expression when she saw it was amazing. I thank you so much.
That's so sweet
I did this; turned it upside down, and added it to a boot cuff and added jingle bells. So cute Elf boot cuffs.
What a fabulous idea !!
I just made this as my first successful crochet project for my bestfriend's baby boy. He is going to be the cutest prince in his crown! Thank you so much for taking the time to make and post a tutorial.
What color did you use for the boy crown?

HI there I would be trying a smaller hook :) is this is not working then skip more stitches on first row of the spikes of the crown
I love the crown. Good job. Keep up the good work. I just finish making it.
You could try using a treble crochet instead, this stich is higher and should give you more height in your points
Gonna make some of these for my nieces :) They will love them! Thx for the vid! You are amazing!!!!!
Love this, and I only took 2 times to get it right! 😉 The first one looked pretty good. I only messed up on the beginning of the first diamond. I'm HAPPY! 😆

Great tutorial, thanks for this. I've made one to match my daughter's Elsa costume. I wasn't prepared to pay £5 for a tacky plastic tiara!
@lessupastar No sorry i dont have it writtern out yet. I am working on it :)
I am thinking that the crowns and tiaras would be really cute with beads at the tips. I haven't tried yet, but I will with my next one. I used the pico/peacock stitch to heighten the points of my first tiara.
I just made it, with Red Heart Super Saver yarn, using a G hook, and it stands up perfectly... I only did a newborn size though.

Hi! I'm using a 5mm crochet needle and a worsted 4 pink yarn. I was wondering if there's a way to make the points taller? I'm making the crown correctly, but I'm not sure how to make the points higher. Any help would be apprieciated. Thank you for this tutorial!
Finished the 1st one, in red... put a couple jewels on it and topped it with a silver skinny yarn.
What size crochet hook should you use? US size.
