    You are THE BEST tutor online! I am 54 years old and could never make anything but a granny square because I couldn't get the turns at the ends of the rows right. The way you teach, with patience and so thorough, I have finally "got it". Anybody can learn to crochet watching you! Thank you for taking your time to help us out here you are greatly appreciated! :)

    I must agree with you, Cindy. I think she explained this slowly too, but yet steady enough so she can show you exactly what she's explaining. Sometimes when people aren't patient thinking they're the only one with questions, they're not going to hear or see the answer. I think this series is the best!

    loved your tutorial! Very easy to fallow, I ended up making mine a touch too big so i didn't add the button hole onto the end and just pushed the button through some of the stitches and it sits nice on my head and helps to keep my ears warm. I only used 1 strand of yarn instead of two so its not as thick but it turned out nice! Thanks!

    @rainepanda you just take 2 skeins/balls of yarn and use one string from each. Create your slip knot, with both, and crochet with them both together as if they are one string. If you have only one skein/ball you can use one string from the centre pull and one from the outside, but make sure you put it into a box or bowl to stop it flopping around.

    Emily, when you use two yarns, it actually makes it thicker. I think, personally, its a matter of personal choice. You can use wool yarn, and it will come out almost as thick. There are some good wool yarn out there.

    With 4ply yarn you would use just one strand. I used 2 strands because my yarn was very thin.

  • @CrochetwithClare
    @CrochetwithClare  11 лет назад

    In the video it shows you that you start with single crochets, (from memory i think it is about 10 stitches) then you continue with half double crochet with the main section and then at the end of the row you go back to single crochet
    hope this helps

    I'm currently working it with just one strand of yarn (medium, size 4, recommended hook size J) and it is looking great. I'm using a K (6.5mm) hook because I don't have a J (6mm) hook.

    I went from passively looking for a crochet ear warmer headband, to actively looking for one, and THIS is IT!!! Was looking for one that is narrow at the nape of the neck (like my fleece Champion headband that I currently own) as opposed to one that is the same thickness all the way around!
    I also need to actually learn how to crochet as well! Tried a couple simple projects about 6 years ago, but never kept up with it and really want to get back into crochet and develop some skills!
    I'm also in CANADA and definitely will be in need of some ear warmers for this winter! So far this tutorial looks beginner friendly! SUBscribed to your channel!

Thanks so much for sharing your talent. I am a beginner and mostly self taught. I will use more of your videos. Do you have any hints in adding elastic to the yarn so headbands won't need buttons? Hi, I cant remember my chains that I made, BUT if you still have the ones that you made that do not fit....get the larger one and then put it on your head and do it up so that it fits you (you may not be able to actually do it up, just hold it there) then count across the number of stitches until you get to were it fits.....then chain that many and add 2 for your turning chain :)
    Did that help you ? I feel your pain and can imagine the frustration you are going though
