I read the book Breath (James Nestor) not long ago-as a nurse working with sick babies it was so eye opening to learn about the extent of difference it makes to do the bulk of our breathing through our noses!!
Hi Dr Daniel. I have a question? When singing where should I inhale and exhale? Through nose inhale or mouth for exhale or bith inhake exhale in mouth only? Pls. Reply thank you...
Thanks for this. In the clip you mention clogged nasal passages. For those of us who live in polluted, pollen-laden cities, do you have any advice for keeping our instrument clean? Since following your drinking straw tip, I've been feeling an entirely new space up there.
Hi Dr. Dan, some say that singing should not be engage in Swallowing Muscle. How to know if I am singing with my swallowing Muscle? What muscle should we use in singing?
Hi Dr. Dan, When I breathe in through my mouth my tongue lays still. When I breathe in through my nose the back of my tongue raises for the inhale and feels like it creates a little temporary tension. Is it normal for the tongue to temporarily lift through nose inhale or is it a bad habit I've acquired? Love your videos.
You forgot to include asthma among the diseases that limit mouth breathing. Lots of asthmatics experience irritation via mouth breathing and are instructed to breath through their noses when doing pretty much anything. The human body is interesting ^_^
when I used my mouth it gets dry ans itchy and its harder for me to sing I cant use my nose either while singing because I have nasal problems sometimes when I use my nose I get runny nose lmao😂
