    It’s been 2 months for me and I’m only JUST starting to be able to sing again , my laryngitis was from all the coughing I was doing while I had pneumonia… I’m going to try these and hopefully it will help me , I miss singing

    Thank you! Using a straw is the SOVT exercise. Can I assume that I can also use the lip trill exercise too?

      You can give it a shot and see. If the voice is better afterward then it’s working. If not, stick to the straw and water. My video on puffy cheeks might help as well.

    Hello. It's been over 3 months I've been suffering from laryngitis. My voice has recovered but not fully. Can't sing in high pitch, can't make any high pitch sound. Any suggestions? Ent doctors ain't even working.

    • @singingwithron
      @singingwithron  Год назад

      This happens a lot at the end of colds. It’s most likely because your larynx has ‘forgotten’ how to lift as you go up in pitch. Try imitating a witch with lots of twangyness. Or a little kid saying Nyah Nyah. I hope that makes sense.

    Omg. I sing every 2 weeks in 4 hour gigs . No issues.
    I had a slight cold and had a jam with a loud band and now I have a deep hoarse voice. No middle ( just air ) and a strong powerful high head voice. What the heck . Hope this gets better..i have a gig in 10 days

    I used to smoke a lot and recently stopped… so my voice isn’t where it used to be. I then strained my vocal cords once … I don’t think it ever fully recover and then smoking on top of that. I try to drink lemon water but … still nothing. I’ve just been praying because I genuinely love to sing I just didn’t see clearly how I was damaging the gift God gave me

    I am on week 11 (almost 12) of recovery. I was almost better and then it got worse again a few days ago. I am taking medicine to reduce the dripping down the back of my throat. My voice still gets hoarse and tired and I don’t have much head voice at the moment. Would something like this help? I’ve been trying to stay on vocal rest but it’s hard

    • @singingwithron

      Try the straw and water and if your voice feels and sounds better right away then continue!

    should these be implemented during the laryngitis itself or are those post-recovery exercises, just like physio therapy

    • @singingwithron
      @singingwithron  2 года назад +4

      My students laryngitis was lingering so this really helped to speed up recovery. You could try it and if the voice responds positively, go with it!

    I’ve been on complete voice rest due to laryngitis making my voice disappear 100%. In at the end of my 10th day of silence and I have that tight feeling in my throat, it feels like my throat is tying itself inside out, I sing at church and am totally freaked out that I won’t be able to sing like before anymore. I don’t want to talk or do anything that would worsen it, how long of this exercise to get things back to normal?

      Hey Ashley, be patient. You will get your voice back. I have found that you have to start using your voice in order to get it back. It might take awhile but be patient and gentle. Also try this video to see if it helps ruclips.net/video/RPTU1WJZxz0/видео.htmlsi=f5vJUMnO9g2px8kq

    I literally had a beautiful voice and after larengitis and all of it went. So I'm starting all over after 2 years of getting it perfected. I was a mezzo soprano and reaching higher notes. Any suggestions?

      I can take several weeks to recover. Don’t give up! Yes you will regain all of your voice. The semi occluded vocal tract exercises will bring it back. Be patient!
