If i'm right, it seems Slash practiced the opening riff to warm up but always hated that riff. It's Axl who wanted to put this in the intro of Sweet Child.

JBest0 did Axl even hear of Nirvana until 1991(?) - I highly doubt it - he wasn't out scouting little indie bands - when they got big he wanted them on the bill to increase ticket sales and give him "cred" - he had to know that all the hair metal bands might as well been playing polka music in 1991 - they sounded that passe and dated by that point....

He also asked them to play for his 30th birthady (in 92) ...But Kurt dislike him and GNR and they start to talk trash during interviews and concert...I've read it in some bios of GNR.
