    For those of you who are curious, that is Hintze Hall at the Natural History Museum in London, U.K. The skeleton you see is that of a blue whale. The whale's name is "Hope". The museum bought it for £250. Also, this isn't experimenting with the capabilities of Godot 4; this is experimenting with the capabilities of your graphics card.

    can you take video of something then make computers turn it into a 3d enviroment? is the technology already there for this?

    • @fleshchild
      @fleshchild 11 месяцев назад

      Yes! There are a few ways to turn videos into meshes, but the main ones right now are photogrammetry and NeRF. I will say though, the resulting meshes will usually have a poly count in the millions and will need a lot of optimization to be used for real-time rendering.

      @paul1979uk2000 10 месяцев назад

      @@nickrounsville True, I mean, there are limits in the current engine, but being has everyone has access to the engine, it more or less makes it limitless, but to tap into that would require high level of skills when it comes to engine development.
      On the plus side, the more popular the engine gets, the more development the engine will get.

      Static memory usage is 130MB, video ram usage is 890MB, CPU is around 10% and GPU around 65% on 1080p. This is on an RTX 2060 with Ryzen 2700x

      @@askeladden450Batman arkham knight, though i disagree with the statement, both look really good. If someone really wants to compare, same scene should be taken with default graphics on both engines. You can't make the claim based on this video alone.
