Here's an innovative way to design and build corner stairs without angled miter cuts running down the center that could end up separating when lumber starts to shrink as it dries. Keep in mind that this type of design might require engineering or local building authorities approval, before building.
I just built these stairs! Love the look and not too hard to build. Thank you so much for the video
You're so welcome!
This is how I did my patio stairs. Added bonus, no mitered treads which always open up with shrinkage.
I like that , how far apart are the stringers in the drawing
16 inches, but 24 inches on center usually works with 2x6 or 1.5 inch thick lumber.
@@stairbuilding Thank you !
Can you use precut stringers for this ?
Yes and here's a link to a book on building these stairs. www.homebuildingandrepairs.com/books/odd_shapes.html
What size lumber did you use ?
I like to use 1.5 inch thick lumber.
Which one of the books is this project in?
I don't think any do, but you can check this one out, it does have the same stairway with a different stringer layout and tread design. How To Build And Frame Stairs With Odd Shapes
Yea I don’t know about that stringer layout.
Thanks for sharing.
