I've listened to this easily 100+ times, and Chris Bear's drumming still gives me shivers. Grizzly Bear are without a doubt one of the most creative bands in the last 50 years, and so unrecognised. It's such a shame they'll never do anymore music. Thank god for Dan's new album coming out soon
Why aren't they making new music
@@RayyanKhanRayyanKhan i guess ed droste quit music to become a therapist?
@@magicjuand That comment I made was before I found out about Ed leaving :(
most underrated group ever by far.
You can kind of tell Chris Bear plays Jazz from his style in that he incorporates different textures with cymbals and plays as musically like a jazz drummer would. I just love 4:36 so intricate.
that key change at the end never loses its impact no matter how many listens or different versions. really love it.
This has to be one of the most creative things on the internet
Easily one of the most innovative & talented collectives of our time.
Move over Radiohesd. I love you but these guys exude genius. Many songs of theirs I can repeat many times and find new things to appreciate. Their vocal harmonies alone here make this so powerful with the church lifting them to a unique spiritual level. I thank the sound man and the church's architect and builders as equally as the band. Praise in the highest to the Greatest Builder of All.
Totally agree 🙏
I’ve listened to this recording hundreds of times over the past almost decade. Never gets old. Still one of my favorite live performances of a single song.
This is the best version of the song!
That was one of the best songs ever. Incredible
Love the tweaks on this relatively old song
Amazing sounds and musical abilities! Ed's voice is amazing too
piece of art
This next album is gonna be great! I have high hopes
i effing love this version! cbear's backing vocals give me goosebumps and ed is just KILLING it!
nothing ever feels the same!!
Man these guys are awesome
the best
This song really suits being played in a chapel.
Drumming is sick!
Looks like a fun time lol
Holy hell. And I thought this song was unperformable.
oxy-moron
Love the drum and also the instrument arrangement!
Probably the closest I'll ever get to a religious experience if it ain't a foxhole in Bastogne.
have to admit i was expecting a cover along the lines of "a dreaded sunny day, so i'll meet you at the cemetery gates--keats and yeats are on your side..."
Best american band? i think so.
Julian Grant definitely
Probably would agree on that one. One of the few American artists I can get on board with. Too underrated. Maybe they've not sold out and that's why.
So fucking good.
puts my soul at ease
amazing and refreshing
I’m here for Chris bear
incredible!
Chills! Their concert at Mexico was awesome
Brilliant
What is that song during the end credits???!! Beautiful
Greatness!
LOVE IT!!
couldn't agree more!!
Hermosa rola!! 😍😍😌
A carpet of effect
I looked it up. He does say that! Hahaha. Oh, Ed.... such a naughty boy. :P
i fell on a car again , maybe you can fix that
Did he just play the an old radio?
Transcending.
4:44
5:26
i think i just pooed myself again
This is Pink Floyd status.
yep
wow i learned to play the recorder in third grade can i be a grizzly bear
fell on a car... again
Daniel Rossen... if you're reading this, please quit GB. Ed Droste is holding you back.
Benjamin Hoke he already does solo stuff, how dare you wish this combination of skill be broken apart. Music that breaks apart my soul and puts it back together, I hope they never stop. :)
Benjamin Hoke aye fuck you mate
Aya fuck you mate
Dude fuck off, both of their voices and styles are so unique yet blend perfectly and nothing makes me happier than the fact that the universe brought these 4 people together to make music. Also we already have Department of Eagles and it's great but not quite the heights reached by GB proper
Wtf
