much simpler method :
cp of 1 orange=2/6=1/3
sp of 1 orange=3/7
profit=2/21
profit % = 2/21*3/1 = 2/7 = 28.56%
oranges reqd. to earn rs. 2/21 profit = 1
oranges reqd to earn rs. 1 profit = 21/2
'' '' '' rs 20 profit = 21/2*20 = 210 (answer)

Sir, I have a question: do the questions you provide us here match the level of CAT, or are these merely for practice? How much more do I need to practice (and what level of questions) if I wish to clear the exam, provided I began the prep at the beginning ofJuly and wish to crack IIMs?
Pls respond 🙏
I have a DOUBT!, that at 8:01 sir took the fraction of 30% as 3/10 and then converted it to 3/7 i.e. 3/10-3, so why does he did that and not 10-3/7?? I have watched the past videos and this have been my biggest doubt yet, so please explain this to me sir or anyone who know this pleasee?!?! 🙏🙏
Same doubt
That killer smile😂😂😂😂🙏
Sir, for 2nd Question.
Can we do one thing?
Take CP = 1, hence SP = 0.7 (loss of 30%)
Then again considering CP = 1, therefore SP = 1.4 (profit of 40%).
I got the answer within seconds by this, as SP is doubled then toffees must be half.
By this, we can ignore the cumbersome and tedious calculations, eventhough it's in mind.
Please let me know sir, and thank you as always for your great work and hardwork you put for students ❤️❤️

Cp for 1 Orange is .33 rs
7 orange for 3rs so 1 orange for 0.42rs
Sp for 1 orange is .42rs
Profit for 1 orange is sp-cp= 0.09rs
Total profit is 20rs

Sir can you tell me? Where to apply multiplying factor 1 + 1/n and where to apply n/d or n/d+n method. Am confused where to apply which one
Let's suppose from A-----B (A to B) there is n/d increase then there is always n/d+n decrease from B-------A (B to A), this is used where we know one sides decrease or increase and we have to find it's reverse. example - A's salary is 25% more than B, then by how much percent B's salary is less than A.
B-----A 25% =1/4, A's increases from B's salary, therefore 1/4 = n/d (as increase comes here).
Now from from A's salary B's salary is n/d+n decrease, i.e., 1/4+1 =1/5
B's salary is 1/5 less from A's.
Let B's salary =100
According to question A's is 25% =1/4 more than B i.e., =100+25=125.
B's is (25/125) % =20% less than from A.
Multiplying factor(M.F) used when we have to find next values example
Price of book is increases by 25 %, current price is 100, here 25%=1/4 this is fraction value(f.v.)
M.F. = 1+f.v. (when increases) and
M.F. = 1-f.v. (when decreases).
Here increases therefore
1+1/4 =5/4 is the M.F. value
So the new value will be 100(price of copy) × M.F.
100×5/4= 125 new price of copy. ✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️🤘

Sir I’m a little confused.. if I make 40% profit by selling 56 toffees at 2 rupees, wouldn’t I have to sell more toffees at 1 rupee to make the same amount of money (profit)? So instead of 56/2 wouldnt it be 52 x 2 ?
Exactly
No
For 56 toffees we need to pay 2rupees.
So for one rupee we can get 28 toffees
@@neppallisatishchowdary6439 But then the profit will also reduce by half right?
Yes i m also confused by this the profit is only 20%
@@manu-wd8bv I can suggest an alternative approach to the solution which can make it easier. The selling price as per the question is 56rs and loss percentage is 30%. By this we can get the CP as 80rs. So the actual CP of 1 toffee is 1.428rs (80/56). But since he sold them for only 1rs initially, he losses out .428rs, which is 24rs(30%loss). So for him to make 40% profit, the selling price needs to be 112 (40%P + 80 CP). Since there are 56 toffees, he can sell them at 2rs (112/56) to make 40% profit
This content is really good sir, Thankyou very much.

Sir what is we solve milkman wala question by taking total quantity 100 litre then the cp is 840.?
Please reply sir
Yeah in that case I'm getting (16/84) *100
if you take the total quantity as 100 liters then the quantity of milk should be 83.33 liters and water should be 16.34 liters, not water = 200 liters and milk = 800. because water is 20 percent of milk, but if water and milk are 200:800, then water will be 25 percent of milk.

can someone explain in toffee question how are we getting the multiplying factor as 7/5, if CP= 10/7 with 40% profile shouldn't it be 10/7+ 10/7* 40%(2/5)

In milkman question, why you took only cost price of milk, as the milkman also spend money over buying water as mentioned? Kinda confuses.
CP of the milk includes the acutal price that is spent by the milk man, so adding water costed him 4 Rupees and the milk of 100L costed 100, and he sold the 120L milk at the CP of Milk which is 1 Rupee per litre so its 120 Rupees

hey, as sir said you should not change the quantity. so for the selling price of 1 rupee you have 56 toffees which you sold at 30% loss. so cost price is unknown at the moment for the equation but it can be derived (30% = 3/10 decrease on cost price but we dont know the cost price however we do know the selling price which is 1, so 3/10 decrease is 3/7 increase on selling price(1) so 1+3/7 = 10/7 which should be your cost price) now you have a condition that he must sell it at a 40% profit. we dont need to do the speed maths madness again as we already know the cost price. rest is easy.
