    cp of 1 orange=2/6=1/3
    sp of 1 orange=3/7
    profit=2/21
    profit % = 2/21*3/1 = 2/7 = 28.56%
    oranges reqd. to earn rs. 2/21 profit = 1

    Sir, for 2nd Question.
    Can we do one thing?
    Take CP = 1, hence SP = 0.7 (loss of 30%)
    Then again considering CP = 1, therefore SP = 1.4 (profit of 40%).
    I got the answer within seconds by this, as SP is doubled then toffees must be half.
    By this, we can ignore the cumbersome and tedious calculations, eventhough it's in mind.

    Sir can you tell me? Where to apply multiplying factor 1 + 1/n and where to apply n/d or n/d+n method. Am confused where to apply which one

    • @raghav5895
      @raghav5895 2 года назад +41

      Let's suppose from A-----B (A to B) there is n/d increase then there is always n/d+n decrease from B-------A (B to A), this is used where we know one sides decrease or increase and we have to find it's reverse. example - A's salary is 25% more than B, then by how much percent B's salary is less than A.
      B-----A 25% =1/4, A's increases from B's salary, therefore 1/4 = n/d (as increase comes here).
      Now from from A's salary B's salary is n/d+n decrease, i.e., 1/4+1 =1/5
      B's salary is 1/5 less from A's.
      Let B's salary =100
      According to question A's is 25% =1/4 more than B i.e., =100+25=125.
      B's is (25/125) % =20% less than from A.
      Multiplying factor(M.F) used when we have to find next values example
      Price of book is increases by 25 %, current price is 100, here 25%=1/4 this is fraction value(f.v.)
      M.F. = 1+f.v. (when increases) and
      M.F. = 1-f.v. (when decreases).
      Here increases therefore
      1+1/4 =5/4 is the M.F. value
      So the new value will be 100(price of copy) × M.F.
      100×5/4= 125 new price of copy. ✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️🤘

      @@manu-wd8bv I can suggest an alternative approach to the solution which can make it easier. The selling price as per the question is 56rs and loss percentage is 30%. By this we can get the CP as 80rs. So the actual CP of 1 toffee is 1.428rs (80/56). But since he sold them for only 1rs initially, he losses out .428rs, which is 24rs(30%loss). So for him to make 40% profit, the selling price needs to be 112 (40%P + 80 CP). Since there are 56 toffees, he can sell them at 2rs (112/56) to make 40% profit

    • @mayankkumar_369

      40% = 2/5, therefore multiplying factor in case of increase is 1+2/5 = 7/5, and 7/5 of 10/7 gives 2.

    • @shivaniyadav2547

      hey, as sir said you should not change the quantity. so for the selling price of 1 rupee you have 56 toffees which you sold at 30% loss. so cost price is unknown at the moment for the equation but it can be derived (30% = 3/10 decrease on cost price but we dont know the cost price however we do know the selling price which is 1, so 3/10 decrease is 3/7 increase on selling price(1) so 1+3/7 = 10/7 which should be your cost price) now you have a condition that he must sell it at a 40% profit. we dont need to do the speed maths madness again as we already know the cost price. rest is easy.
