It was well thought out between the original movie and flowed beautifully! It is very current and I was blown away by the beautiful costumes and hilarious famous stars! There are touching moments that that express tender human emotions. There is so much more to love about the film. I will watch it again and again as I did the original Coming to America!

Lara, it is not as good as I hoped. I asked for Coming to America 2.0 meets Wakanda in real life, but I got Norbit goes to Africa meets a National Lampoon's Vacation kids movie. Don't get me wrong, I like Norbit for what it is, but it's no where near what this movie should be in my opinion. The original writting and direction is severely missed, the scale seems too small and uncinematic in some scenes, none of the characters' storylines are well fleshed out, the musical score is a bit lacking and seems out of place at times, and the story, though very promising, isn't well executed. The movie plays out like a music video or a circus show going from one spectacle to another with very little impact because there is no context and they often seem unrelated to the story line; which makes it feel more like a sitcom than a Hollywood movie. I am disappointed, but there are some very bright spots for me like: Wesley Snipes' General Izzi performance, Michael Blackson's announcement of general Izzi, Kiki Layne's performance as Akeem's eldest daughter Meeka, Shari Headley's Queen Lisa, the elaborate living funeral of King Jaffe narrated by Morgan Freeman, Teyana Taylor's reveal and performance as General Izzi's daughter Bopoto, and Nomzamo Mbatha is very pleasant as Mirembe. The wardrobes are fantastic, the cast is great, and overall the first half of the movie is generally good, but it's just not enough to overcome, the pacing, scale, and script problems of the movie.

There is a guy not Eddie credited though in the end creds because there's a scene where a stand in "look alike" is there so Eddie can do a scene as the barber with the old Jewish white guy he plays in the background simultaneously. But this was before they would just film it separately and edit him in there for all those kinds of scenes.
