Another excellent video, Mal! Dave is a gem of a colleague; I suspect that he has forgotten more than most of us will ever know, and he doesn’t strike me as a very forgetful gentleman. That turn right in front of the building quite literally had me yelling “turn!!!” at my iPad. 🤣
I know this is a couple yrs old but can you do more driving videos like this? Very informative. There's hardly any driving videos and those are very interesting and extremely informative. Thank you
Love the videos Mal! Keep them coming. My wife and I are doing our motor coach homework so we will know what questions to ask and be a very informed consumer. We are looking forward to a life on the road.
Wow what a great new perspective of these magnificent coaches. So quiet and smooth! And the coach is beautiful! Thanks for the outstanding ride and showing one of the main parts of owning a coach! The drive! Technology is awesome! Way to go Marathon! Thanks for sharing another great aspect of the coach!
I have High reguards for all police officers and I know that saftey is the reason people are pulled over which aside from the great work that Marathon does on the prevost coaches it`s kind of like making a silk purse out of a sow`s ear. But lets keep in mind that thease PREVOST chasis have way too many blind spots which stabs right in to the heart of saftey !! I have 49 years experince as a proffesional truck driver and blind spots can shure ruin your day. check out some of the other coach companys and yiu will see what i mean check out ENTEGRA coach on the Spartin chassis at indoor rv sales and Angey will show you a much safer coach that excels in driving comfort and saftey at a much lower price. with a much more dependable 620 hoarse cummins engine have a great day.
I have been studying Luxury Class A Diesel pushers and there are about 2 dozen converters using about four chassis. The PROVOST is by far the best per year research. There are a few other brands that are pretty good and very financially competitive in the mid range market. My question is, for my budget, should I buy a low mileage used PROVOST conversion or a new off brand? A used PROVOST doesn’t have the “new car price”, Is broke in ( any bugs have been taken care of) and it’s resale decrease in value would be more financially acceptable. Opinions appreciated.
Nice Monday, But I would like to see the coach in the closed in walk through. The space for traveling down the highway and what is use-able for a family of three or four in the closed 3 and 2 slide position. Thank You
JB - thanks for watching - a good point! We will look to illustrate this soon - Check us out this coming Monday....we will be touring Marathon Coach #1261
There are two axles at the rear of the coach. Normally they both support the weight. To take up the tag axle, you deflate the air suspension on the tag (rearmost) axle, and then all the weight is on the drive axle. A shorter distance from the drive axle to the front/steering axle allows you to get a tighter turning radius. This should only be done very slowly < 5MPH.
HI Mal...Just wanted to say, the drivers seat doesn't look very comfortable in the Lumbar erea...Is the drivers seat adjustable...if not...will your Marathon Design Team reconfigure this minor detail...? BTW Absolutely Gorgeous Coach!!!
Enjoyed it very much. I believe the more information one has the better decisions one can make. I have made inquiries on motorhome manufacturing companies such as Foretravel , Newell , Newmar, and Entegra . I know Prevost are the best of the best but it's hard justifying the difference between one million and two+ million in cost. Watching your videos will help me make a better decision. My parents always told me it is less expensive to buy what you want than to regret what you buy. Question, once a person makes the final spec's on a coach like Marathon. How long is the approximate build time. Keep up the great work
Hi. I’m Danish and live in Denmark . I love Your Luxury Motorhome. But I like to know ,What kind of driver’s license do you have to have to drive a Big car like the one you driving in. Is she difficult or is she easy to drive. Learn to drive. Thankyou for Your show.🤗
@@Makingdifference100 I don't know about Denmark, you would have to look up local laws and regulations. In USA, only a few states require special licenses. In Oregon, where the Marathon factory is, anyone with a standard drivers license can drive their new Marathon coach off the lot.
I remember years ago asking about getting a air ride seat while I was at a demonstration, the demonstrator was totally pissed that I would even want that in a coach , I was so put off by the attitude I decided to buy a 47 foot yaught as the people I would be cruising with were much nicer
Yes - it sure is - all decor items are correctly fastened down so that it is safe to travel with them in place - thanks for watching and commenting - Check us out this coming Monday....we will be touring Marathon Coach #1261
Wow I really have your video that explains well the difference of a Prevost Marathon. I would love to have an explanation of the from dashboard of the driver and that side dashboard to the driver. If not congratulation again. I'm still waiting for your calendar, Mrs. Miki Markovich confirmed to me by e-mail that I had to receive it, I still received nothing and several weeks ago this email. thank you
Road noise greatly decreases when the coach slowed down. I thought they would have been a quieter coach in the cab area. Is there air noise from around the door causing this? Going up the ramp it became so quiet. How much quieter is it than my Fleetwood? Marathon is still the King of Motorhomes.
Thanks Sid - we will look into what happened during filming - That much road noise doesn't happen when driving a Marathon - Check us out this coming Monday....we will be touring Marathon Coach #1261
Not as quiet of a coach as I expected at the higher speeds! I also feel the column in the middle of the windshield is a distraction as well as the 'thick' columns on the other windows.
Watch the You Tube Video// What It's Like To Drive A Prevost - Prevost for Newbies - Part 7 The Gadget Guru is driving with a Microphone right behind his head and there is no noise...VERY QUIET !!!
What happens with the fireplace when the living room slide comes in? From the video, it looks like it would burn the overlap? Do you not have to wait until the fire has cooled?
Soy muy fanático megusta muchísimo los motorhome y sueño con llegar el momento de adquirir un vehículo como motorhome y de buena calidad me llamo angel desde argentina Gualeguaychú abrazo y ariba siempre motorhome
I have one question. I'm a Class A CDL driver and I'm curious if you instruct new coach owners about how air brakes function and specific licensing requirements for what state they will be registering the vehicle in. A lot of states now require non-commercial license for vehicles weighing over 26k lbs gross. Do you give instructions on driving for those customers with little or no experience with a large vehicle?
Mal: You need to make an effort to improve the audio/voice quality, especially during on the road video, with all the background noise. Could not understand Dave Bash's comments during highway footage, due to background noise.
Paul - good call - we are working on that currently - exploring the options that might be available for wireless/Bluetooth microphones - thanks for commenting -
Harold McCarty, absolutely too much road noise. I've been following Marathon for quite a while because I plan on buying a customized coach in the future and I've always wondered how does marathon justify there very high premium price? a vehicle that you charging over 2 million dollars for should be whisper quiet Rolls-Royce luxury and Space Age reliability. They obviously need to put a lot more effort into sound deadening Plus active noise cancellation
I know that the Prevost chasis is the best and most expensive chasis out there and then you add all the components that Marathon installs, and I understand the price. But you speak of features on the Marathon as though they are not available on any of your competitor's products. I think you should do some research before you make blanket statements, why? Because there are many potential customers who have and are doing their due digilence and know what is available out there, who may be turned off by you overselling the exclusivity of some of those features.........
AND I CAN INVEST YOUR BUYERS MONEY TO FULL AMOUNT IF THEY HAVE AN REASONABLE AMOUNT BEFORE YOU PUT ANYTHING IN THERE HANDS , JUST ASK THEM BOTH OR WHO EVER ANSWERED YOU 1ST
Pretty obvious that the materials used here are a grade above. These coaches stand the test of time because of it. Feature wise I see things that are copied from other non bus chassis motorhomes and some that exist because of price not because of brilliant innovation. I thought the turning circle demo so close to the building was the highlight and impressive. just wished there was more of perspective from the driver and better video. No doubt because of the elevated cost and age of the owner of marathon coaches there limited exposure to youtube this would be fine segment. But in this medium, your missing lug-nuts on your wheels.
The adaptive cruise system is complete garbage, especially when people KNOW you have it.... passengers will definitely hate the driver if they use the cruise. Same system has been on Volvo trucks for years and is the number 1 cause of jackknife with rookie drivers using cruise control on wet or slick pavement.
Sir David the sound proofing is very important I am in agreement . When you purchase a Cadillac you can not hear all the road noise that reduces alot of stress on the road .
I NEED TO BUILD A NICE RV RESORT THAT STRETCHOUT FOR MILES LIKE AN HOUR OR MORE ALL AROUND , CAN YOU GET ME SOME LAND I CAN BUILD THE NICEST INDOOR WITH OUTDOOR FEATURES DOMED IN LUXURIOUS RESORT WITH ROCK POOLS LOOK LIKE REAL THING WATERFALLS AND ETC .
someone at Marathon coach preferably the founder and president should explain to us the potential consumers how do you justify such a premium price? is the product your building twice as good than others? in this video the micro phone picked up a lot of road noise which means to me that you're not investing enough in sound deadening plus you should have active noise cancellation systems. for the price your commanding the vehicle should be Rock Solid Space Age reliable and ride and feel like a Rolls-Royce. Certainly it should be ultra ultra quiet. Thank you

Malbert I have a suggestion you need to put a wall and door between the cab and driver and the living area .I bet if you do that all the other companies will follow . I would not want to hear the driver or the blinkers they are to loud . I bet you costomers when they see the divider and the door they will order the dog do do out of them . Brilliant Ideas Malbert !
you brag about the visebility but what about the huge blind spot in the middle of the windshield no other class A has that and I see huge blind spots at the left of the driver plus cometicaly its very boring. and not pleasing to look at. and watching the driver that coach dosn`t drive any where near the Entegra and it dosn`t have near the feachers for handling that a far less priced coach does.
One only need compare what happens to both coaches in an accident to appreciate the extra bracing. Hint: A serious accident in an typical Entegra Class A is not survivable as 10-20 feet of the front of ANY typical class A explodes in a bad wreck. Google wrecked Prevost for yourself and see for yourself how little damage there is comparatively.

i want one when i hit lotto.lol love it thanks a lot guys
Omg this is a beautiful coach. Can't believe it's not brand new. How much is this use coach and the mileage?
They should incorporate a 360⁰ birds eye view camera systems like the upper tear luxury sedan's

do you have to have to drive a Big car like the one you driving in. Is she difficult or is she easy to drive. Learn to drive. Thankyou for Your show.🤗
Michael Due to the air brakes you will need a CDL. A cdl endorsement is super easy to get it in any state.
@@Makingdifference100 I don't know about Denmark, you would have to look up local laws and regulations. In USA, only a few states require special licenses. In Oregon, where the Marathon factory is, anyone with a standard drivers license can drive their new Marathon coach off the lot.
James Torrence with the state of GA all drivers are requirement to have a CDL to drive a vehicle of this size and equipped with air brakes.

great video good job

What's the breaking distance at 50 mph ?
Mal....does Dave prefer driving the XL or the H3....and why?
Dave actually covers that in a future episode. He enjoys them both.
Are there any appliances that a coach wouldn't be able to run (safely), just really wanting to know?
Road noise greatly decreases when the coach slowed down. I thought they would have been a quieter coach in the cab area.
Is there air noise from around the door causing this? Going up the ramp it became so quiet.

Sri Lankans would love to buy it
Is it me, or is it rather loud while driving? Mal, why no seat belt?
Do you need special license for this type of RV?
Most states require class B or C. And have air brake endorsement
Very quite
